à propos de cet hébergement
Penthouse Apartment with Sea Views, Falmouth
Summary:
A stunning refurbished 3-bedroom apartment set over two floors at the top of a historic building. Enjoy beamed ceilings, characterful features, and uninterrupted harbour views from Flushing to Pendennis Point, with ever-changing vistas across Carrick Roads to St. Mawes Castle. In the heart of Falmouth, youâre perfectly placed to enjoy Cornwallâs most vibrant townânow with the added convenience of a dedicated parking space.
The Space:
Originally a Quaker Meeting House once frequented by Beatrix Potter, this iconic Falmouth building stands prettily on a backstreet in central Falmouth - with everything at its fingertips. The upbeat bustle of Church Street, with its independent shops, stylish cafes and welcoming pubs. As well as the harbour, where you can catch a ferry and sail over to St. Mawes passing dolphins on a sunny day.
When youâre not out and about exploring all of Falmouthâs wonderful offerings, sit back and relax in your beautiful apartment. There isnât another one like it - with rafted ceilings, exposed wooden beams and original stone walls. Spanning over two floors, enjoy slow mornings from the comfort of your sofa and admire the view of bobbing boats through lancet windows. Rustle up delicious breakfasts in the contemporary kitchen - where youâll find brand new appliances alongside a characterful butler sink and retro Smeg fridge. Sociable nights can be enjoyed around the dining table, feasting on fresh produce picked up from local stores that day.
There are 3 bedrooms in total - two on the first floor and another on the second floor. Each has a king-size bed (of which the third can be converted to twin beds). All have been decorated serenely in a mix of chalky whites and nautical blues. With ample homely touches to boot, from charming artwork on the walls to elegant textures and high-quality furniture. The master is truly spectacular, reached by its own spiral staircase. Spacious and light, enjoy elevated views across the water from the comfort of your bed. Plus, youâll find a private en-suite bathroom with a walk-in waterfall shower and bath. Comfort and luxury are at its heart, from quality linens to plush towel sets for both the bath and beach!
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the whole apartment apart other than one locked storage room. It is on the top floor of a small building and is accessed via a set of stairs. Once inside, two of the bedrooms, a bathroom, the kitchen and living area are all on one level. The master bedroom with ensuite is on the first floor and accessed via a spiral staircase.
The Neighborhood:
This beautiful apartment has the best of both worlds: you're located in the heart of Falmouth whilst still enjoying moments of peace and quiet. Within moments, you could be exploring the local independent shops on Church Street, tucking into fresh seafood at The Shack or strolling along the water's edge. Some of the town's best pubs are all within a walking distance too, from the Ferry Boat Inn to the Star & Garter. This colourful town is full of soul, and you will find a brilliant selection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants as well as convenience stores. Some of our favourite eateries include MINE and IndiDog as well as Verdant Seafood Bar and Bodega.
Falmouth is great for beach days, boasting 3 in the town itself. Gyllyngvase (Gylly) Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Falmouth, and its sheltered position makes the bay a popular spot for swimming. Plus, the award-winning Gylly Beach Café is also situated right on the beach and is the perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing drink while looking out to sea.
Just up the road from Gylly is Castle Beach, which is situated just below the Tudor landmark of Pendennis Castle. And thereâs Swanpool Beach where you can feast on fresh mussels after a dip in the water!
There is so much to explore in the local area too. A ferry from the nearby harbour takes you over to the stunning St Mawes, which is well-known for its superb foodie ties and historic castle. Keep an eye out for dolphins too, who are known to make their appearance alongside the boats! The coastline between Flushing and Restronguet Passage is a real local's secret, with the stunning Carrick Roads and Restronguet Creek. One of the best walks is from Mylor Bridge, following the coast path to the Pandora Inn - it's one of the prettiest spots for a beer this side of the Tamar. The historic thatched pub sits on the river, with a big jetty filled with picnic tables and a view of people paddling and crabbing in the water.
A short drive from Falmouth is the lesser-known Trebah Gardens, a tropical paradise tucked away against a coastal backdrop. The beautiful 26 acre Cornish valley garden has over four miles of footpaths where you can explore canopies bursting with exotic blooms and vibrant tunnels of colour. Finish your day with a stop off at the fantastic Ferry Boat Inn, which overlooks the Helford Passage and offers superb seafood. Or make a stop at Polgwidden Cove â the private and secluded beach, which backs onto the Helford River.
Find more local tips and tricks in our Guest Guide, which is available to you upon booking.
Getting Around:
The apartment is located in central Falmouth with everything just a stones throw away. So you won't need a car for exploring this wonderful town. To explore further beyond, we'd recommend bringing a car. Free parking is available on the streets surrounding the property on a first come first serve basis, as well as in one of the many paid car parks.
But that said, Falmouth does have fantastic transport links to the rest of Cornwall and the UK. Falmouth Town station is just a short walk away, with regular trains running to and from Truro. From here, you can pick up a fast train to London Paddington which passes Exeter St Davids, Bristol and Reading along the way.
Other Things to Note:
Please note: we now have a dedicated parking space available for guests from August 2025.
