A peaceful week in the lakes
We arrived at Fellhaven and managed to unpack the car before the rain started and our Tesco delivery came - perfect timing!
The lodge was bright airy and clean. The Tesco driver slipped on the steps (there is a sign saying slippy when wet!)
There was ample room for our groceries, with a fridge and a freezer. Cooking/kitchen facilities were great! We could’ve done with a couple of Pyrex bowls, wooden spoons and a fruit bowl!
The bedrooms were clean and comfortable but we really could do with having mirrors in all bedrooms rather than just the main bedroom - which proved difficult when having to dry and style hair!
The decking needs a good clean and dome work/replacement of boards there’s a couple of boards rotten and with holes and there’s an area at the front that’s very rotten, weak and almost gives way. The rattan sofa also needs attention.
We had. As problem with the heating…. We had none for 24 hours or so, but Chris from Lakes Cottages was absolutely brilliant, he brought us a fan heater for the short term and brought an someone to override the thermostat to ensure we were warm.
Apart from the above it’s a beautiful lodge, the staff are so very friendly, the whole site is very dog friendly.
We would definitely come back to this site, we would 100% book with lakes cottages and lodges in the future, and we would go to the same lodge again.
