This wonderful and spacious cottage exudes style and comfort and offers the very rare advantage of private parking right outside. Cool and chic this impeccably refurbished retreat is located in the heart of Mousehole, one of Cornwall's most picturesque and sought after fishing villages. Although tucked away Mill House is just steps away from the stunning harbour where you can enjoy a fabulous selection of places to eat, drink and shop or lose yourself in the narrow streets in this idyllic little village. There is even a little sandy harbour beach, perfect for whiling away the day watching the boats come in and out. Thoughtfully styled Mill House is a comfortable home from home any time of the year. Whether you’re a couple, two couples or a family looking to get away, this is a perfect Cornish base with the amazing bonus of being able to park right outside.
Entering into the sociable open plan living and dining area you will feel at home as you relax and sink into the large sofa in front of the wood burner. It is a calm space with exposed beams, wooden flooring and Cornish stone walls. The house is full of texture and the soft furnishings create a lovely atmospheric place to unwind. With the bespoke-fitted kitchen, just off the living area, keen cooks can keep in touch with those awaiting a feast around the beautiful rustic dining table.
The three comfortable bedrooms make the most of the light and continue the soft texturing from the living space. There is a bathroom and a separate shower on the first floor and there is an additional cloakroom on the ground floor. The lovely courtyard garden is a perfect spot for an alfresco breakfast together around the table or enjoy some sheltered sun and a good book on one of the wooden loungers.
A real retreat with a garden, private parking and a central location, Mill House is a charmingly elegant base where you can leave the car parked and enjoy so much from the doorstep.
LOCATION
Mousehole is Cornwall at its absolute best and it’s obvious as to why the iconic fishing village is such a popular location. Its origins date back as far as the 12th century when it was the main fishing port in Mounts Bay, and much of its old-world charm has remained. You can feel the history when you stroll around its higgledy-piggledy lanes.
The village hugs the coastline and is protected by Raginnis Hill, making it a real suntrap to soak up the Cornish sun. Mousehole is also a foodie hot-spot, with a good selection of restaurants, cafes, two delis, and the working harbour of Newlyn being in easy reach. Mousehole harbour lights are perhaps the most famous attraction, when hundreds of people each year come to see the village illuminated by Christmas lights.
Choose to make the most of the walks and places to visit within walking distance or use as a base to explore from and retreat back to. With so much within a half an hour drive you can really enjoy the best of the far west of Cornwall.
LIVING
Entering into the spacious open plan living and dining area there is space to kick off your shoes at the entrance and feel at home instantly. It is the heart of the house with a gorgeous deep grey sofa and a loveseat to relax and unwind of an evening. The wood burner is nestled in the original Cornish stone chimney and the Smart TV is ideal for gathering everyone together for a film after a day exploring the coast.
COOKING & EATING
The fabulous bespoke kitchen at Mill House is cool and calm and any cooks dream. The cabinets are Farrow & Ball, the oven and hob Rangemaster and there’s all the mod cons you’d expect to cook up a feast.
The rustic dining table comfortably seats six with four chairs and a bench. Sitting within the open plan living area it is illuminated by vintage lighting and offers a wonderfully social setting to enjoy long evening gatherings with a Cornish seafood feast. On that note – if you’d like a special event or any night of the week catered for do ask, we have some superb local contacts.

We are The Cornish Way Limited. My name is Seb and together with assistance from Adrienne and Lowenna we run The Cornish Way, a small local holiday agency managing a fine collection of cottages on behalf of their owners. Working from a converted dairy on the outskirts of Penzance together with our office dogs, Baloo and Herbie we are located close by to all the cottages.
The whole team live locally so always get in touch. We are usually on hand to help with your stay even if it's just a tip for a good local pub or beach!
