One can walk to the beach in 3-5 minutes; no need to cross major thoroughfares. The beach is not as crowded as closer tot he main pier; it is a short walk away from the inlet separating Palm and Sullivan islands, where a pod of dolphins would sometimes feed. The property manager was very accessible, reacted quickly and efficiently to our requests.
The property was perfect for our needs. An old school beach house thatâs hard to find since Hugo. Iâm a disabled vet, and needed a place with no stairs. Also a great backyard for the dog. We could get all around the island on a golf cart, and a great beach 2 blocks away. Iâll be back!
This property is great. Is it the newest or most modern, no, but the location is worth the stay here. Its a very nice small house but has a very large kitchen which was very nice too. It is just a couple blocks from the beach that takes just a few minutes to walk to and us within a few minutes drive to everything else isle of palms has to do. I would definitely recommend anyone wanting somewhere to stay thats close to the beach and enjoy it to stay here. The owners are also very quick to answer any questions or comments you send them which was very nice.
Why we have indicated being underwhelmed: Dog hair on the furniture, the grass needed to be mowed, spider webs and spider babies in corners, the sofa has stains which makes us think it was dirty, the windows were dirty, the exterior of the house needs a good cleaning ora paint job.
Got to experience Isle of Palms for the first time! Property was what we expected, a nice short walk to the beaches. Plenty of space, and having dog bowls available was a nice touch! We had a bit of an issue with the AC, but the host was quite responsive and we had someone out to troubleshoot very quickly! Would definitely stay again when we return!
The AC wasnât working again. This happened when we came here two years ago. At least on the third day we complained and someone was sent to fix it. The returns are very dirty covered in soot and there wasnât even an air filter in the unit.
This is a great place to stay in a convenient location with all the amenities you need. Itâs nothing fancy, but if youâre just looking for a place to rest your head and maybe eat a meal in between enjoying the surrounding area, this is it.
This home is exactly as advertised. For us to get a quick get away with the dogs to IOP, it is the fine and two blocks from the beach. It's such an easy walk and the home is truly pet friendly.
The bathroom sink was very slow to drain that made it unusable. We had to use kitchen sink which was an inconvenience. The gutter above the front door was dripping the whole time which was a nuisance when leaving or entering the home. Other than that house was fine
Wife and I love the location and ease of access to the beach. This is the second year in a row that weâve stayed there and are planning on doing again next summer.
A week at the 'Cinderblock Palace' on Isle of Palms
This older house on Palm Blvd is by no means a luxury stay. That said, however, it did have everything my wife and I needed, and was well equipped and comfortable. The TV in the second bedroom is a Fire TV and so can accommodate all of one's streaming needs. Compared to other properties on pricey IOP, it is a bargain. Beach access is a short walk away, downtown Charleston a 25 minute drive. Jake, the owner, was very responsive and helpful.
We had a wonderful vacation at IOP. The house had everything we needed and more! -even a book filled with recommendations of local restaurants , complete with menus and advice -super helpful! The property was great- exactly as advertized, and the location was very close to the beach. It was an easy walk to beautiful beaches and we really enjoyed our stay. Great place for the price!
Our stay was perfect, the house had everything we needed, and it was near a quiet beach access that we could walk to. Isle of Palms had everything accessible.
Our stay was great. We truly rented this place thinking we wouldnât be in it much, and fully wanted to take advantage of the beach proximity. Given the weather, we did not make it to the beach once and I wouldnât say this home is one you want to cozy up in. It was clean, and served itâs purpose. But the cinderblock charm isnât one you want to hang out in a whole lot. Jake was VERY responsive and helpful with early check-in and late check-out. The washer dryer was a great aspect too! And dog friendly!
