Dramatic Sea Views At Healabhal House on the Isle of Skye.
Healabhal Cottage is tucked away in the most scenic corner of Skye. It offers the perfect mix of a secluded spot with an unbeatable view over the sea, while being easy and short distances to so many amazing sights, and restaurants (including the Three Chimneys & Dunvegan). Healabhal is the perfect spot to enjoy everything that Skye has to offer.
Enjoy our spacious, open living home with a log fire. Enjoy the large bedrooms, all with walk in wardrobes. There are plentiful books and games, a large garden for exploring with an outdoor firepit. We understand that dogs are a member of the family so we are dog friendly for up to 2 well behaved dogs.
Heaven on earth is how I describe Isle of Skye and this place helped cement my feeling about it. The house is adorable and had plenty of space for our group of 5. We enjoyed our stay very much and particularly enjoyed the views of Loch Caroy in the morning and in the evening. We would easily stay here again if we return to Isle of Skye. The only things we would suggest for future guests is to be sure to bring some extra toilet paper and paper towels/ napkins with you.
This property was a very nice place to stay while in Isle of Skye. It is quite remote though, but, I think that is the nature of the Isle itself. The space is nicely laid out and worked for our larger group. I would only add, that kitchen set up was a bit odd (i.e. things were located in very odd places - or least not exactly where I would expect them to be) so were constantly rummaging through cabinets trying to find things. Overall, this is a lovely home and place to stay.
Healabhal is a beautiful home with a cozy ceramic electric stove in the kitchen to keep you warm on cold days. There is plenty of room to spread out and relax with a view of the ocean and cliffs in distance. American travelers take note these are not American king size beds, they are queens but two bedrooms are suite-style and have a private attached bathroom, perfect for two families traveling together as we did. The house has tons of puzzles, games and movies. We enjoyed a fire in the pit out front on a sunny day. Everything was great about the house, fully stocked kitchen, highly recommend.
The location was excellent but finding the property was hard. A small flag at the driveway entrance would help a lot.
We loved sitting out at the fire pit in the evening the view is fantastic, and the ambiance memorable. The Aga stove needs to be on if you are going to cook, but does give off a lot of heat. We were 7 people and there was a shortage of small glasses and no small side plates which we would have liked.
The tog rating for the beds were too much for the warm weather and an option to use lighter coverâs would have been nice.
That being said I rated this place very highly, we had a wonderful visit there.
It created a lot of good memories for all there.
