Family half way meeting point.
Proximity to lakes etc was great. The actual locality was very noisy- first from dual carriageway(perhaps this should be mentioned) but also cars speeding along the road outside the property and LOTS of dog barking- wondering if there’s a kennel nearby? Felt like property has a general clean but when we moved settee to retrieve a piece of game it was quite shocking the collection of dirt there. Also food reminded ants under cushions. Also under beds dusty. Had to take antihistamine as can’t tolerate lots of dust. Any cardboard wrapping on food in fridge became waterlogged so think there must be problem with fridge. Heating was on full blast when we arrived even though extremely hot outside so turned all radiators off.
Probably the most disappointed we’ve been with a rented cottage - we holiday like this a lot and it’s a real shame as we treated our daughter & grandchildren who are having lots of work done on their house to have a little break. 😟
On leaving a neighbour, politely, told us we shouldn’t have parked in space number one as it’s his. He saw we had 2 cars so decided not to say anything although his wife wanted him to. We apologised as not something you want to get involved with on holiday - but perhaps nice to sort this for other visitors.
Finally cottage is ‘tired’ & could do with freshen up- but issues above much more significant to us.
