Penrose Cottage - Architect designed in the heart of St Just. Dog friendly
PENROSE COTTAGE, ST JUST
This lovely four-bedroom cottage was completely renovated in 2022 and offers space for extended families or friends to get together. With a sociable open plan living kitchen and dining area that leads to the first living area you can bring everyone together in this light-filled sociable space. Only one mile from the stunning Cape Cornwall it is within the sought after town of St Just. Itâs the ideal base to explore the far west of Cornwall and beyond, with rambling walks and quirky shops, artisan cafes and plenty of art galleries close by, all from the doorstep. If you are bringing your four-legged friend they will be in heaven.
This cottage is ideal for families looking for a little extra space or those looking for living areas across the ground floor with only a few steps, making it more accessible. As you enter there is a cosy living area to the left with a decorative wood burner (Not in use), stairs lead you to the first floor and the well-designed open plan kitchen and dining area to the right; perfect for keeping an eye on little ones or getting friends together. There are two living areas, four bedrooms, three shower rooms and a family bathroom.
The fourth bedroom, a shower room and second living area are ideal for a couple/individual looking for their own space within the cottage or make the most of the large light-filled living room as a second TV/games room. Upstairs are three bedrooms, one with an en-suite and the family bathroom with a separate rainfall shower.
BOOKING FOR 5
Out of season Penrose Cottage offers a 20% discount when sleeping up to five across the three bedrooms on the first floor. (Please note the rear ground floor bedroom, shower room and second living area are not included if benefitting from the low occupancy discount).
LOCATION
The whole town of St Just is a UNESCO world heritage site and surrounded by wild moors and dramatic coastline. If feeling energetic try exploring the stunning Tinnerâs Way running along the coast from Cape Cornwall all the way to St Ives. Itâs an ancient route from the Bronze Age and where the tin and copper ore were transported along the way from St Just to Hayle.
St Just is a friendly town that feels lost in time with an array of great local shops, a deli, a butcher, four pubs and a small local supermarket for your everyday needs. Surrounding the town are the most spectacular stretches of coastline and fantastic walks from the doorstep. Sennen Cove with its glorious surfing beach is ten minutes away as is Portheras Cove, a hidden and stunning localâs cove. Travelling further east within twenty minutes you can be in Marazion with its fabulous beach overlooking the famous St Michaels Mount, St Ives, Mousehole and Penzance.
LIVING
The cottage has a light and airy feel throughout. The second living room to the rear of the cottage has a large TV and is stylishly furnished with a three-seater sofa and two pouffes to relax. Ideal for movie nights or some games together.
To the front of the cottage is the cosy living room. Relax after a day exploring on the comfortable three-seater chaise sofa and armchair (the chaise seat can be used as an additional seat instead, as required). There is a large wall-mounted TV.
COOKING & EATING
The kitchen at Penrose Cottage is fabulous and equipped with everything you need to cook up a feast. Overlooking and leading onto the paved garden and opening up to the utility area and the dining room, itâs a social space that ensures you can welcome the whole family to dinner.
The dining table seats up to eight comfortably and the open nature of the kitchen and dining room allows conversations to flow all evening long. On that note, if you would like a special event catered for, please ask as we have some fantastic local contacts.
In the second living area is a second kitchen area, again for those that are looking for some privacy within the family holiday or use as required for those big dinners with an oven and hob, under the counter fridge with a freezer compartment, microwave and a washing machine plus the all-important coffee machine for your all morning cuppa.
