ALL ABOUT THE INSIDE:
Kitchen: Large and spacious modern shaker kitchen with plenty of storage. There is an integrated fridge, freezer, eye level oven and combo microwave. Opposite this there is a 5-ring induction hob with pan drawers below. There is a kettle, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine. An integrated slimline dishwasher and washer/dryer complete this well equipped kitchen.

Lounge/Diner: Lovely dining table to seat everyone with double French doors looking out over the front garden. Two comfortable sofas are the perfect place to chill out after a days exploring and watch the large flat screen Smart TV. There is a coat and boot rack, side board, coffee table and display cabinet filled with books and games.

Bedroom 1: Wooden king size bed with matching bedside tables and lamps. A chest of drawers and wardrobe offer plenty of storage. A wall hung Smart TV for lazy mornings in bed and views from the window over the fields.

Bedroom 2: This room can be made up as a super king double or 2x 3' single beds. Another Smart TV in here, chest of drawers and views over the large garden.

Bathroom: Beautiful modern tongue and groove bath with waterfall shower and handheld shower head. Wash basin with LED sensor lit mirror, WC and large towel radiator.

ALL ABOUT THE OUTSIDE:

Pull up to the property and on to the shingle driveway through the 5-bar gate where there is parking for 2 cars. The front garden has a patio with further seating. There is 4.5ft picket fencing to each side and views over the fields from this direction.

To the rear of the property there is a fully enclosed garden with patio and large grassed area. There is a large dining table and chairs with cushions which stored in the shed where you can also store your bikes etc. The side fences are solid and over 5ft. The bottom of the garden is 3ft picket fencing with a second layer of chicken wire so is little dog proofed!

We had a perfect Dormy Christmas.

We were very excited to arrive at Dormy for Christmas. Stepping inside, it was perfectly decorated for Christmas with the little tree on a table - out of a dog’s reach! Phew! The lovely welcome tray is always a nice surprise but we were blown away by the Christmas extras for humans and dogs. Pure luxury was discovered when we opened the generous hamper plus the beautifully wrapped big box of luxurious dog treats. Just brilliant and so thoughtful of the owners. We were very touched by their thoughtful gifts. Dormy was immaculate until the Cypriots slobbered their sandy/muddy noses on the patio windows. Dormy is definitely our favourite house from the ERC portfolio as it is just a few steps from the beach and located down a bumpy little lane which makes it feel like a unique location. The sunsets are wonderful to see without getting up from the sofa. Beautifully fresh interior, excellent secure rear garden for dogs, and feels like home as soon as you walk through the door. We did not want to leave!

A week's break in Dormy

Here is a more professional, polished version with gentle expansion while keeping the original sentiment and details intact: --- This was our second stay at Dormy and, once again, it proved to be an excellent choice for us and our seven dogs. The house was immaculately clean, tastefully modern in its styling, and clearly designed with practicality and comfort in mind. It functioned exceptionally well as a living space, particularly for a large group with dogs. We made full use of the local area, enjoying trips to the beach, walks in Bacton Woods, and frequent visits to the nearby dog fields, whose close proximity was a real advantage. The hot washing facilities were especially welcome after outings with the dogs, particularly following muddy walks at Bacton. We also revisited some excellent local eateries: The Swan at Ingham was, once again, delightful, and the Sea Marge Hotel at Overstrand was equally enjoyable. Overall, Dormy was a truly lovely place to stay. It met our needs perfectly, provided a relaxed and comfortable base, and most importantly, our dogs were very happy there—which meant that we were too.

Perfect winter break

What a beautiful holiday let, Dormy has everything you need for a relaxing holiday perfect for both humans and dogs. Our weather was not the best but Dormy was so warm and comfortable it was like being at home, an amazing welcome pack for us and our dogs a garden just right for zoomies and the beach just a few minutes away who could ask for more. Dormy is definitely a five star property hopefully we will return.

Another fab stay.

Our second stay at the beautiful Dorny. The Welcome Packs for both humans and doggies were again excellent promoting local produce, which is a must for us. Fabulous location, doggies enjoyed their daily beach walks - we couldn’t do the usual numerous miles due to our senior boy (13) and senior girl (11) but they loved it. Still remains our plan to retire to beautiful Norfolk one day! My only negative is the road leading to the property has deteriorated since our previous stay, Thank you for a great stay.

Hotel quality dog friendly home at the sea

We have stayed in this part of Norfolk before and love the area but it was our first time at Dormy. We were impressed with all the facilities in the cottage, comfy beds, very fluffy towels, all mod cons in the kitchen and a large comfy sofa that we could all fit on and relax. Everything was spotlessly clean and there’s a dish washer so no one has to wash up on holiday. You can hear the sea and the view out the front is lovely too, we enjoyed watching the large skeins of Pink-footed Geese every morning and small murmurations of Starlings too. We saw deer in the dunes at the back too, lovely to be surrounded by wildlife. The garden is large and secure so our dogs enjoyed exploring that too. We all felt very at home by the end of our stay and would love to visit again next year.

Dormy is the place to go for a faultless holiday!

We’ve stayed at the Dormy quite a lot, both in summer and winter and every time we arrive we are as excited as if it’s our first experience. Our dogs are probably more excited than us. They loved jumping out of the van and into the big fenced garden with the visiting rabbits and pigeons - all of which are quickly chased away. Relaxing here is so easy as it’s a bright, airy and comfy living space with a fabulously stocked welcome basket, with all we needed for a yummy cooked breakfast to kick start our holiday. We loved being a few steps from the beach and hearing the waves as the tide came in each day. Dormy is our top of the list for a relaxing beach break with sunset views over the fields. The short bumpy track leading to the Dormy made it feel like we were truly on an adventure as we headed for our dog-friendly destination - yes, the arrival treats for the dogs were most welcome. Thankyou for another perfect ERC holiday.

Everything a dog could need

Best feature are the well fenced front and back gardens with high fences. Then walk a few yards along the lane to the path over the dunes and onto the dog friendly, Sandy beach. The wooden shed contains all sorts of useful dog items such as crates, mattresses etc. Then, for the humans, lovely comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, and comfy sofa with throws allowing dogs on the sofa. We have stayed three years in succession. Ned we say any more!

Perfect Property, Perfect Location, Perfect Hosts

We consider ourselves to be regulars at Dormy. It’s always my first choice. Why? It’s the perfect size for us and our pack. Open plan, airy, with a fresh feeling when you walk in, and so peaceful with only the sound of the waves. The dogs love it! Their holiday excitement builds as soon as we start wiggling our way along the short unmade road. Not sure if it’s the wonderful tray of goodies or the imminent exit from the vehicle to explore the grassy big back garden, adjoining the dunes that is the most exciting- but who cares? Dormy gives us a warm and fuzzy welcoming vibe and everything provided to make us and our dogs very happy to be on holiday here. Back soon!

Doggy break

Dormy was a lovely bungalow in which to spend a very relaxing week. The accommodation was perfect for two large GSDs who really enjoyed being able to wander from the back to the front garden and play on the two large lawns. It was great being able to just go through the gate and take a short walk in either direction to the lovely beach. We enjoyed sitting in the front and back gardens in such peaceful surroundings or relaxing in the lounge enjoying the view over the fields. The owners generosity with provisions was way beyond expectations and very welcome. We had a lovely morning out on Bacton beach which the dogs also thoroughly enjoyed and I would recommend visiting. The owners were so helpful with a couple of queries we had and the bungalow had everything we needed for an enjoyable holiday. Smallsticks cafe close by was a pleasant walk to enjoy a cup of coffee and delicious cakes but it would have been nice if it was open every day. Dormy is definitely somewhere I would recommend to stay.

Outstanding

Our holiday staying at Dormy was by far the best we’ve had. Dormy is an exceptional property, perfectly clean, well equipped, in a fantastic location so so close to a very peaceful beach. Dormy was extremely dog friendly, and with our dogs feeling right at home, allowed everywhere and supplied with lovely throws and beds and a lovely basket of goodies for the dogs and humans. The gardens were completely enclosed and safe. We have booked to return next year.

Great facilities, really dog friendly with big secure garden.

Had a very enjoyable stay at Dormy. The location is great for the beach which is excellent for our very energetic working cocker spaniel. Facilities within the bungalow were very good, the air fryer and the coffee machine were a great bonus, so much so that we bought the same model coffee machine when we got home. Fabulous welcome pack( with artisan dog treats) and a secure gardens for the hound. The whole accommodation is really dog friendly We also had the bonus of sunny weather. We had a great holiday. Relaxing short break

This was our second stay at delightful Dormy (the first having been to avoid fireworks). We love the great location, so close to the beach so not needing to necessarily use the car, but also not too far to travel for a day out. Cannot fault the accommodation - clean, well presented and equipped, comfortable, wonderful welcome pack, plenty of local information provided. Everything dogs and humans could possibly need to enjoy a chilled and relaxing holiday.

Amazing Dormy!

We absolutely loved our stay at Dormy. The property is homely, cosy, light and airy. It was spotlessly clean, Dormy is really well equipped and beautifully furnished to a high standard. We received an amazing welcome pack for us and the dogs. Lovely rural views from the front of the property and can hear the sea from the back garden. A couple of minutes walk to the beach. Wonderful location and perfect for the dogs with a nice large, secure back garden.

A great place to stay…

A great place to stay with dogs welcome. Dormy had everything we needed. Comfortable, warm and very well equipped. The access road is currently a bit challenging but I guess that’s not down to the property owners. Ample safe parking at the property. Being so near to a fabulous beach was for us a major advantage. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Peaceful, relaxing dog friendly cottage

The cottage was super clean, warm and well equipped. The beds were really comfy and there was an amazing welcome hamper for us with treats for our dog too! The whole cottage was really geared towards our dog which made our whole stay so much more relaxing. And the walks on the beach were literally a 2 minute walk away - and we were often joined on our walks by seals bobbing along in the waves. I highly recommend Dormy!

Fantastic cottage, shame about the weather!

We had a wonderful stay at Dormy. The bungalow has everything you could wish for, for dogs and their people. Amazing welcome packs for both, including excellent sausages enjoyed by all of us. The weather was vile for most of our stay, but the house is warm with good WiFi, TV in all the rooms and only a short walk to a path over the dunes to the beach. I had booked Dormy for our old boy who had struggled with stairs the last couple of years. Unfortunately we lost him in February so we brought our 8 month old pup instead. The house and particularly the back garden were safe and secure even for an inquisitive spaniel puppy. Having the young dog with us and of course the weather curtailed our time spent on the beach but the older dog walked to Happisburgh with one or other of us most days. Sea Palling also looked to be within a reasonable walk along the beach for a properly grown up dog. We had excellent dinners at Sutton Staithe, Lessingham Star and the Lighthouse at Walcott. We also enjoyed lunches at Beach Rock Bistro Sea Palling and Smallsticks Cafe at Cart Gap. I don't cook on holiday, though I did make an exception for those sausages! The only thing that could have improved our experience would have been oven gloves in the kitchen but that's a very minor thing.

Amazing place would highly recommend

This is my 3rd year using ERC for the last 2 years I have stayed at Dormy. The place is ideal for my golden retriever, secure gardens front and back. Very clean upon arrival, welcome pack is amazing and loved the chocolate cake this year! We had daily walks to the beach and chill time aswell in the house. Hot and cold tap outside for dog washing which was ideal as Teddy loved the sea and came back a mess every time. There is nothing more you can ask for here. Would highly recommend.

Our dogs at Dormy

We and our Labs, loved staying at Dormy. Well appointed home with secure gardens and great access to the lovely beaches nearby. The welcome pack was excellent and got us off to a great start, once again East Ruston have got it righr. We will be back, the dogs are busy sulking now lol.

Dormy is such a welcoming dog and human friendly cottage. Two large secure gardens, dog toys, towels, poo bags, home made dog biscuits, bowls and even leads for the dog, and best of all an endless, quiet, beautiful beach to enjoy 3 minutes walk away. For the humans everything is top quality, the extremely generous food and drink hamper, the bed linen, towels and the fixtures and fittings. We were all so sorry to leave such a wonderful property and will be back very soon.

Wonderful

For the first time ever, we had the most relaxing and wonderful holiday at this beautiful cottage. The cleanliness, and location were superb. We have a very anxious cockerpoo, and I’ve never seen him so relaxed on a holiday. The basket of goodies are fantastic and the best we have ever received. We loved the cottage so much that we even booked for next year while we were here. Thank you dormy we can’t wait to see you next year.

Lovely stay at Dormy

We very much enjoyed our stay at Dormy. The house was very comfortable, tastefully decorated and very clean. It was very dog friendly with spare dog bowls, leads, poo bags, crate etc and throws for the sofas if needed. Communication was excellent. Our welcome pack was very generous, the best we have ever received - full of amazing locally sourced produce including bacon sausage and strawberries and tomatoes that tasted amazing, thank you. As reviewers have said, the road outside has very bad potholes but the fact that the beach is on your doorstep, you have to take that into consideration. The garden is huge and secure at the back and our dog loved having a run around trying to catch the rabbits. The beach is lovely and only 5 minutes away. We called into the Smallsticks cafe which was nice but it was still in off season opening so closed tues to Thursday which was a shame. Caister and Yarmouth were not far and we popped into The Swan at Stalham who were very dog friendly for a nice pub Sunday roast and had a huge pub grub lunch at the kingfisher cafe at Walcott, also dog friendly. The neighbourhood was very quiet, lovely clean house and beach nearby so good for reactive dogs and those looking for a very quiet dog friendly place to stay.
