Riverview Place est une maison de moulin originale construite en 1902 ... La plupart des maisons de Fries ont été construites en même temps ... L'histoire de cette ville est partagée avec les visiteurs par les habitants avec une grande fierté dans leurs histoires sur leur vie alors que Grandissant dans une ville appartenant à et dirigé par "The Mill" ... La musique était et est une grande partie de qui ils sont ..
Une fois que le chemin de fer a cessé de venir, l'état de la Virginie a fait un parc de rails dans les sentiers appelés The New River Trail State Park, qui commence à Fries et s'étend pour un peu plus de 50 milles à Pulaski. Avec une promenade en vélo, il y a de la pêche, du canoë, des tubings et de la randonnée, et vous pouvez vous joindre à un certain salon ole.
Fries est situé à 6 miles de Galax où il y a un Super Walmart, d'autres épiceries, des magasins et des restaurants.

Cozy home away from home

We greatly enjoyed our time in the riverfront home! We had an excellent view of the river and dam and the home came equipped with just avout everything we could have needed. We look forward to another stay in the future!

Great View!

Very clean and comfortable home. Rented for our in laws to stay and they loved it and the town. They even saw a Bald Eagle flying in the park. Owners were wonderful.

From the Bayous of LA to the mountains of the Blue Ridge. We enjoyed everything about the cabin. Super clean and everything we could possible need. As was the case last year at their other VRBO home in Fries, VA the house was very clean, accommodations were exactly as described, and the owners are always responsive to emails and questions. I recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful view of the river.

Lovely spot

Highly recommend this rental. The view of the river is fantastic you are walking distance to a nice restaurant downtown and 5 mins to tube and kayak rental. They let us use the well maintained bikes for a beautiful trail right outside the door. They also lent us chairs for a concert at the BlueRidheMusic Center which was awesome. Extremely nice owners and extremely clean home.

Perfect little home for our stay

My sister and I stayed here while in town for a family wedding. It was perfect for us and my sister wanted to make sure I left a 5-star review. We love the multiple outdoor sitting areas, especially the front porch overlooking the river. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen adorable, and the bathroom updated. It made our stay wonderful. We also appreciated having parking in the back, since some of the nearby homes only had streetside parking. It was slightly tricky to find, but after a few drive-bys (street side and alleyway), we found it. My sister and I 100% recommend staying here and will stay here again if we are ever in town.

Super Lovely porch view!

Well kept, user friendly location in a sweet town. Lots potential for tip top outside activities like biking, water play, and fun things on grass (chuck a ball, frisbee, tag, etc). Kitchen was highly functional and nicely equipped for making real meals.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage. A lovely wrap around deck with views of the river and lots of seating. The kitchen was well stocked. It had everything we needed. It was great to be able to store our bikes in the shed when we weren’t riding the trail.

Sweet, Cozy Home

We loved this home. It was a super cold weekend, but it was so warm when we walked in. Something about this place reminded me of being at my granny’s house and that made me feel extra safe. It’s close to a steakhouse, cafe and a bike trail. It was too cold to use the deck area, but it looked very nice - this is a well loved, clean home!

Riverview Place was such a peaceful property and certainly exceeded our expectations. The home was very clean, and the owners provided everything to make our stay comfortable and convenient. It was convenient to family in Galax Va. Also it was nicely furnished. The kitchen was equipped with all we needed to cook our meals. We like to cook our own meals when we can. Richard & Rachel were great to work with, prompt, thoughtful & helpful! The view from the front windows & porch is wonderful of the river! It nearly sounded like the ocean! The home is nice & very clean! The kitchen is stocked with anything you need! I would recommend staying here for a getaway & can enjoy as much hiking/biking as you want as well as to relax! We hope to return for another stay!

This house was spotlessly clean and a delight to stay in, and our hosts had clearly thought through what mattered to their guests. We came to this area to bicycle on the New River Trail, and the house included a separate locking shed for our bikes. Nearly everything in the former cotton mill worker house has been updated, making it very comfortable for us to spend several days cycling and relaxing. The house overlooks a broad, shallow expanse of the New River that serves as the ‘beach’ for the town of Fries, VA and we spent many hours sitting on the covered front porch, absorbing the sights and sounds of the river. Sometimes it was over coffee in the morning, and sometimes over a book in the afternoon, in a rocking chair on the porch, with clever popup tables for each chair. The kitchen is fully equipped, so we cooked for ourselves happily for several days. The house includes a recently-added wrap-around porch with grill, tables, chairs, and sink, presumably to allow anglers a place to clean their catch. Many flowering plants and bushes featured in the pretty landscaping. As an added treat, we were able to participate in a local traditional Appalachian music jam, held every Thursday night at the community center. A thoroughly charming visit to western Virginia, courtesy of excellent hosts.

This was a delightful getaway. Every modern convenience is included with just the right touches of the era and history of the property and surrounding vicinity. The information included in the welcome book were spot on and saved us lots of time guessing about where to explore. Definitely among the cleanest and best maintained homes we have visited. We loved being so close to the New River Trail. We were here in the fall and the views were exceptional. Thank you so much.
