Scandi House
17 of us recently stayed at Scandi House for a big birthday celebration. The position of the house on the beach is great. The views are stunning. And the house is a great size. (11 others joined us for a big dinner and there was plenty of room). However, for the price you will pay to rent this house it is not as well maintained as it should be. It's quite "tired" looking inside. There are raw wires sticking out of walls in the downstairs sitting area. None of the table lamps worked. The roof upstairs over the bar area leaked when it rained. There is a panel missing on the bath downstairs exposing pipe work. So not quite as glamorous as it could be. The garden area is a mess. Things have been dumped in the flower beds. Old bits of furniture line the path to the front drive - with nails sticking out. Not ideal if you have kids. I had to brush down all the outside chairs before my guests arrived as they were covered in leaves and cobwebs. The cushions are old, stained and full of holes. In addition, be warned, this house is in a residential area. You will definitely get complaints about noise and the host will fine you - so build that into your budget. This is not the right location for a party house. Which is a shame, because the house could be fantastic. The host made me and my guests feel as though we had to hide from the locals in the area which was never going to happen. That is his issue to resolve, not that of those paying thousands of pounds to relax and have fun.
