Not available for let: Unique period cottage in the heart or Petworth
Not for let are welcome to enjoy our Grade II Listed character property, full of quirky features and tucked away in the centre of historic market town, Petworth in West Sussex. Set off the beautiful Lombard Street, an historic cobbled street in the heart of Petworthâs old town centre, Westwood dates back to the 17th Century and epitomises the abundance of character found in this genteel corner of Sussex.
A peaceful, relaxing place to stay in Petworth. The booking process from start to finish was very easy and straightforward. Despite its central location, the cottage is protected from the noise of traffic, so you can open windows and be woken up by bird song. Tea, coffee, milk, some delicious cookies and crisps greet you on arrival, so you can unpack with a hot drink and read the history of the cottage and tips from the owners. I loved the layout of the place; quirky low thresholds, some winding stairs. It's been renovated thoughtfully and has some good storage. The bed was very comfortable, there's a heated towel rail for the fluffy towels and some gorgeous locally sourced shower gel and handwash. If you take a dog, they provide a dog bowl, a towel and lots of throws for sofas/chairs, plus the courtyard is fully enclosed which is a huge bonus. It's a cosy cottage in winter and I imagine it's wonderfully cool in summer. It looks like people have enjoyed both short and extended visits here and it doesn't surprise me in the slightest, it's a very special cottage.
