An incredible house full of charm and a piece of history / so much space and endless porches to sit and enjoy / we loved walking just minutes to the beach and dinner - and the spacious house allowed for the entire family to be together for a weekend while we said goodbye to my wifeâs mom in a small ceremony on the beach - she had asked that vape may be her final resting place , after her battle with cancer - abd once again my wifeâs mom got the family together to celebrate her life in an idyllic setting full of the exact kind of charm , that JoAnne would have loved - great big dining table and kitchen and parlor room. right off the porch had all of us mingling together and talking - a perfect setting basically
Pros:Excellent locationSpacious houseCons: House needs a lot of cosmetic workFor instance, the floors on the front porch and all the furniture on the porch is peeling and old A lot of the furniture in the house is worn. The pictures on the website are not an accurate depiction of how the house looks in many areas. Some of the mattresses are old and are not comfortable and should be replacedFor the cost of the house, it would be nice to have amenities such as providing beach chairs and a locker on the beach to store beach paraphernalia. These amenities were given to us at other houses that we have stayed in previously.
Beautiful historic and comfortable home in perfect location near Mall and beach. It was perfect for our family reunion with responsive hosts and all necessary amenities.
We really enjoyed our stay! The house has tremendous character with all the modern conveniences. One block up from the Xmas Parade route, Congress Hall and the mall. I booked the house for a 60th birthday surprise for my wife with 7 of her college friends and their spouses (15 of us in all with plenty of room). It was a special weekend for my wife and a fabulous time for all.
Property was perfect - a quintessential Cape May Victorian house on a quiet, tree-lined street within minutes walk to the Washington Mall and the beach. The space accommodated 14 of us with room to spare. The spacious, well equipped kitchen was a delight for multiple cooks. Seashore elegant common rooms - we all fit around the dining room table.
This house is truly in the middle of everything. A quick walk to the beach, Congress Hall, great shops etc. The large living area let all of us be together all at once and the porch in the morning was divine. Hosts were SO amazingly responsive with great recommendations. Truly a gem in Cape May.
The house served us well. All the rooms were decorated beautifully. All the furnishings were comfortable. We brought our own linens, but next time I will probably rent.
We had a little outdoor cleanup to attend to (left from the prior guests )but we did it quickly . The house, as you have read in other reviews ,is located close to theWashington St. mall and the beaches. It is quiet street with passersby which makes the porch a fun spot. The children had loads of fun in the house. Games and dvds are available. Outdoor shower is good to get the sand off. Large dining room table. We brought our own baby gates. The light in the house is very nice. Itâs a cheerful home. Our hosts were available to answer questions and that was nice.
We hope to visit again.
Communication with the host was excellent. The house was clean and well appointed. Lots of porches to relax on and plenty of room in the house for all of us to feel comfortable. Excellent location.
What a wonderful week in Cape May! We canât imagine what it must have been like living in this beautiful house 130 years ago! We have 9 in our family, and have plenty of room to be together or have a little privacy during our stay. The location is the best!!! Sitting on the front porch with a cup of coffee in the morning is a perfect way to start the day. Plenty of room for four cars and within walking distance of everything. Plenty of beach tags, plenty of kitchen equipment, plenty of charm, just a great place to spend a week in Cape May. We already booked for next year. Thank you Erin for a fab trip!
We had a great time staying at this house - it is close to everything and so cute! The amount of beds and rooms/bathrooms were perfect. We would definitely recommend!
This was a fantastic house for our group! Super cute rooms, bathrooms around every corner (3rd floor has a tub only: no shower), and tons of charm. Well stocked kitchen and you CANNOT beat the location. Quiet street, and around the corner from all the restaurants and shopping. 9 women ages 35-55 (who all have twins at home) had a great stay! â€ïž
This historic house is huge. So many rooms! My self and my five children plus their spouses and five grandchildren under the age of 3. Plenty of room. Great location able to walk to the beach and mall. Kids had the added plus of watching the horse drawn carriages come down the street a couple times a day.
This was a big house in a great location. Communication was great and the amenities left by the owner were very nice (beach tags, coffee, paper products, toilet paper etc.) the house needed some repairs and the bathrooms and floors werenât very clean. It wouldâve also been nice to have locks on the bathroom doors; You never knew if someone would walk in on you. Other than that it was a great house.
Thank you Erin and Kevin for hosting our vacation! The house was the perfect size and location for our family of nine. We used the entire house, from third floor bedrooms, to the bedroom on the first floor.
The driveway accommodated all 4 of our cars, so no need for on street parking.
We enjoyed the front porch each morning and the backyard grill at night!
We absolutely loved the location! A choice approved by all our family, weâve already booked for next year!
This property was a great choice for our family to gather to celebrate and enjoy each other in a relaxing, comfortable place. It was a short walk to Congress Hall, restaurants and the open air mall. It was convenient for adults and teenagers to explore Cape May on their own. The house had plenty of room for small or large groups to gather and socialize!
Thanks to the hosts for their lovely property!
The house was amazing! Myself and 7 friends (women, 30s) stayed here for a weekend getaway. This huge house is a charming maze of rooms and stairwells, but with a kitchen, dining, and living room big enough for all of us. We enjoyed sitting in the various porches and sunrooms each morning and soaking in the multiple clawfoot tubs. The proximity to the main street and beach cannot be beat. We would absolutely stay here again!
We had a great great experience at Erinâs property. Location and proximity to beach and downtown was perfect for everyone. Spacious home, comfortable everything. Host was very communicative! Tv was broken and my dad wanted to watch the Mets game and they made every effort to fix it.
The house was great for a multi-family weekend gathering -- well-located near the beach and the Washington Street Mall. One of the bedrooms is only accessible through another bedroom, which was mildly inconvenient but not a big problem for us. The plentiful common areas -- two living rooms, two side porches, a breakfast nook, and a large dining room -- are all very comfortable and let our group spread out for multiple activities simultaneously .
