Town: Bridlington is south of Scarborough and Filey on Yorkshire's east coast. Two award-winning golden sand beaches flank the ancient harbour. Beautiful promenades provide everything from fun-fairs to peaceful spots to people-watch. Bridlington's shops, attractions, restaurants, and historic 'Old Town' give a contrast to the beach, where the newest Dad's Army was filmed. The Bridlington Spa Theatre provides nighttime entertainment. East Riding Leisure Centre has a family pool and indoor activities. The Yorkshire Wolds, Filey, Scarborough, and Whitby, and the heritage coastline are further afield. Bempton's RSPB bird refuge, Sewerby Hall, Danes Dyke, and Flamborough Head are all nearby.
