Home was very clean and well stocked with necessary kitchenware. Bedding and linens were of nice quality and master bed very comfortable. Had no issues with bugs which is a first for a mountain home. Hosts were quick to respond to questions. Be aware that the driveway is very steep. I attached 2 pics. The only negative is that you enter/exit through the ground/basement level instead of the main living floor.
The house could not have been better. It fit our needs. Matt was so helpful and responded to my texts. ( My email account has been hijacked) The view from the north deck is beautiful. Everything one might need was available. The house was spotless. I highly recommend this home.
Very clean and absolute attention to detail in every aspect of the property. Great location and views with easy access to many local attractions. Would definitely stay here again if future vacation plans take us to this area.
We had a great time. Perfectly located for all the waterfall hikes we did. Very clean and beautiful house, the deck was a great place to sit and relax. I would definitely stay here again
The cabin far exceeded our expectations! The photos are beautiful, but it is even better in person! Everything was clean and the owners are responsive and accessible.
If you are looking for a cabin on the mountain⊠this is a perfect place for your family! Everything was clean and we loved the attention to details. Beds were super comfy and cozy. The location was perfect for a trip to Asheville or Morganton. This will definitely be our place to stay againâŠ
Beautiful and private. We enjoyed the cabin and the commication between us and the owner was very good! The cabin was what we needed to get away for the week! Loved everything !
We spent a peaceful weekend in this nice cabin. The house is very clean and has everything we need. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The location is convenient to local stores and restaurants. We enjoy the mountain view and as the other reviewer said, it is even more beautiful than shown in the pictures. Hope we will stay here again in the near future.
This property is a must visit. The views are amazing but the comfort is even better. Matt was amazingly responsive and helpful. He has games available to keep the entire family entertained. The property is close to most things and very convenient.
We went to do some hiking, the property was in a great location within an hour of all of the places we wanted to go ( Crabtree falls, Chimney Rock, Tomâs falls). Loved the Linville winery. The owners left plenty of toilet paper, trash bags, cleaning supplies, etc. The kitchen was well equipped. All of the bedrooms were very comfortable. Loved the game room and views from the porch!
We were so pleased with the natural light, huge deck, quality furnishings, huge open kitchen/dining room/living room, and fireplace. Convenient location off I-40. We visited the town of Black Mountain and Silk Fork Winery. The homeowner was very kind and responsive.
We loved the house. Matt was very responsive and helpful even when we forgot something after checking out. It is a beautiful house, clean and a very good, safe location. Walmart and food delivery services deliver which is a big plus. The house had everything we wanted along with lots of board games. I would definitely stay here again as the house had everything that we wanted and more.
The property was beautiful in a quiet setting. Lots of games and books for children of all age groups. Had a fully stocked kitchen with lots of small appliances, dishes and glasses. It was conveniently located as it was very close to grocery stores - just a few mins away by car. Matt was very prompt in his responses and is an excellent host.
We truly enjoyed our stay for the weekend. Cabin was clean with very comfortable furnishings. Beds were soft and had great sheets. The view was outstanding, a very private property. Easy paved drive, close to town and restaurants. Shout out to Leah at Luisas Italian, great service and amazing food. Could have used a dumbwaiter to get our huge heavy cooler upstairs, will Pack 2 smaller ones next time đ€Ł.
Very well equipped cabin, beds were very comfortable, and the cabin was quite simply CLEAN. very noticeable and what a difference it made compared to some other we have stayed at. The firepit was welcome and enjoyed and the supplied firewood made this a no-brainer. Would love to see a hot tub and a finished game room in the basement as we had two full days of heavy rain. The owners had a very well prepared book of instructions for any issues that mighty come up and were very responsive when I had to reach out on an item. Outstanding place. Thank you very much for such a welcoming place.
The cabin was exactly how it was explained and more. The space was open and flowed nicely. Kitchen was large and had all that was needed to make any meal. Matt was very responsive during anytime prior to and during the stay. Access to the cabin and surrounding stores was great. We had a vehicle issue and had rain for two days straight which grounded us for several days. We took advantage of this time to play games which Matt had a lot of in the armoire near the couch. The sectional couch was a great place to have time together for talking, playing games or watching a movie. The views off the balcony were exceptional. We also had some time at the fire pit and enjoyed sâmores multiple times. Will definitely stay here again.
This cabin is just a mile or two off Interstate 40, but when you are in it, you feel like you're on the side of a remote mountain. This means that you have maximum privacy, but don't have to drive an hour to get stocked up on supplies (or anything else you may or may not have forgotten!) The view from the great room is breathtaking at 6:00am as the sun is climbing over the ridge to the East. It is clean, has DirecTV and Wifi, a wrap around porch that has a portion covered so you can watch the rain while rocking in a chair, and furniture built for comfort. Booking was easy. Directions were clear. Easy turn-key getaway with amazing amenities and views. Highly recommended.
We spent five nights just before Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed the property. Beautiful eastern view of sunrise and mountains but much easier access than most other properties that we have visited in the mountains. We were lucky with good weather but wouldnât have been concerned If had been poor. Road is paved and easily navigable with 4-wheel drive. Spent most of the time in front of the gas fireplace and streaming movies at night. Asheville day trip was easy 40 minute commute. Marion has a cute downtown with a nice coffee shop and ,eatery which we would recommend visiting. Grocery and restaurants reasonable 10-15 minute drive too.there are stairs from the parking area to the first floor as noted in the property description. Kitchen well stocked and beds are comfortable. Couldnât have asked for anything more
We had a great say in Marion. This cabin is so clean, perfectly located and communication with the owner was easy.
The cleanliness of this cabin was amazing. Everything felt brand new. The beds were comfortable and it was a bonus to have a king bed in the master suite. There was plenty of room for our family of 4.
The cabin is well stocked with anything needed. Plenty of games for our rainy day. The kitchen is well stocked and the washer and dryer were full size and easy to use.
The cabin is located in a great place between Asheville and Boone. Easy access to town and the interstate.
Check in and out was easy. The owner suggested food places in town and when we arrived the cabin had a notebook full of nearby things to do.
We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone Wanting to stay in this area.
Great Vacation. Thank you!!!!
Overall the stay was good. We enjoyed the views and the house was well equipped with all the kitchen essentials and the games were a plus.
However, I was surprised to get an email after booking reminding us to pack our own linens as they are not provided. This was not disclosed on the listing. I emailed the owner to confirm and never heard back. We obviously packed our linens but it would have been nice to know this up front because I probably would have rented another spot due to the hassel of bringing our own and limited car space.
The water pressure at the house was also very bad. If the shower was running you could not turn a sink on, run dishwasher or laundry machine, or even flush a toilet. There were directions to follow if water pressure was low but we still did not have success in getting it strong.
This cabin was beautiful inside and out! It was surrounded by trees and had AMAZING mountain views that could be seen from the living room, kitchen, and the huge wrap-around porch. Everything inside was well-maintained and worked exactly as it should (no issues hidden with clever photography, like with some houses we've rented). The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to cook and clean during our stay. The upstairs bed was very comfortable, and the new sectional sofa was awesome!
The location was very convenient to area attractions and shopping (about 5 minutes off I-40, and very close to a grocery store, Walmart, and downtown Marion). Plus, there were plenty of books and toys to keep the kids entertained when we weren't out adventuring. (The Dog Man books were a big hit with my 7 year old!)
The only downside was that the road to get to the house was really narrow, with a lot of blind corners--just something you should note if you want to stay here. With that said, we only encountered 3 cars on this road in the 5 days we were there, so it ended up not being a big deal.
Overall, I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to stay in the Marion/Lake James area. No one in our family wanted to leave, and we will definitely be back if we're in the area again!
The location and views from the cabin were beautiful. We enjoyed some great hikes and fun food. Weâve stayed at several different cabins before, and this was the only one that required bringing your own linens. This was also the dirtiest cabin out of all the ones weâve stayed at. I went to set up my toddlerâs bed in a corner of one of the bedrooms, and there was several monthâs worth of dust there... I ended up finding a different place for her bed. The kitchen counters had not been wiped down before we arrived, and the shower curtain on the second floor has what appears to be pseudomonas growing on the it. We saw quite a few wasps on the deck, and my husband got stung by one. The ADT alarm beeped loudly every time an exterior door opened, and woke up our toddler. We could not turn it off without the security code. We had to remove a battery on a smoke detector the afternoon that we arrived because it was beeping for low battery even though the cleaning staff had been at the cabin just before our arrival. I took the advice of a previous review and brought extra linens to cover the couches for a more sanitary place to sit... the couches are very worn out and quite uncomfortable.
Overall, our trip was great, but we will find somewhere else to stay in the future.
Oh, and this is minor, but the shady side of the deck badly needs to be pressure washed!
Beautiful stay!! The house was exactly as tge pictures showed. It was clean, well-maintained, and impressively supplied in the kitchen and elsewhere. We loved the mountain views from the big windows and deck, and communication with the hosts was exceptional. Would definitely recommend!
