Economical 2 bedroom property just off the famous historic Royal Mile.

Situated in a Victorian building Blair Street Scott is a superbly located apartment in the heart of the Old Town only 50 metres from the Royal Mile and offering a fantastic base to explore the amazing city of Edinburgh. This property shares a a private vestibule area with the Blair St Burns apartment next door and is therefore an excellent choice for larger groups or families who want to be close to each other.

This bright , elegant self catering apartment is furnished and decorated to a high standard to make your stay as comfortable as possible and offers a host of contemporary and period features. Located opposite Mercat Tours and the Edinburgh Vaults (the underground chambers where Burke and Hare would find their victims). The apartment is on the lower ground floor of the building with a view of the street to the front and from the bedrooms at the back. On entering the building there are 4 steps up to the main door and then 8 stairs down to the apartment.

The historic Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site boasting a wealth of charm and character. Main shopping and commercial thoroughfares are within walking distance and include high street retailers , fine restaurants and fashionable bars.
The property is extremely well placed for the many famous historical places of interest including galleries, museums and theatres. Edinburgh castle is a short 400 metre walk up the Royal Mile which is a mere 50 metres from the flat. The Palace of Holyrood House and Scottish Parliament can be reached with a short walk downhill.
The Grassmarket and Royal Mile offer a superb choice of specialty shops , restaurants, bars , coffee shops and boutiques. . A Sainsbury local and Tesco express are only 5 minutes away on North Bridge.
A wide variety of bus services are available nearby and Waverley train station is a 5 minute walk.

* Street parking is available but is expensive, various longer term parking solutions can be given.
* The airport bus drop off point and main railway station are 5 minutes walk.

Restrictions

* No smoking is allowed within the apartment.
* No pets.
* Although on the first floor, there are a small number of stair to negotiate and therefore may be unsuitable for some people with disabilities. 4 Steps from street to building door and 8 steps down internally to apartment door.
* No lift is available.
* Strictly no parties - Guests must be quiet between 21:00 and 08:00 to respect neighbouring properties.

Access Arrangements

A "meet and greet" service is operated , whereby you will be met at a property at a pre-arranged time to give access. Full instructions of this procedure can be found in the secure guest area after a booking has been completed. It is very important that an approximate arrival time is provided before arrival for this process. Entry is from 14:00 onwards but if nobody has booked to depart on your day of arrival it will probably be very suitable for us to give you entry as early as possible. Departure is by 10am (a guaranteed late departure up to 20:00 can be obtained for 50% of that daily rate. Please contact us if you want to utilise this facility and a price will be calculated).

Please note that arrivals after 19:00 will incur a range of late arrival fee.

**LATE ARRIVAL: fees, 19:00 - 22:30 - 15 pounds, 22:31 - 00:00 - 30 pounds and 00:01 - 02:00 - 50 pounds. The latest access can be given is 02:00, otherwise it is given at 08:00 the next day. ESC accept no liability for any costs involved in alternative accommodation for this 6 hour period.


A deposit of 25% is payable on booking and the outstanding balance of the rental price must be received 2 months prior to your arrival date. For bookings made less than eight weeks before your arrival date the whole rental price falls payable at the time of booking. Please note that a separate 200 pounds refundable key/security deposit must be provided prior to arrival. This is rescinded 2 days after departure.


Sleeping Arrangements

1 x double bed, 1 x kingsize zip'n'link that can be split into twins (must be requested at time of booking)


Getting there

There are three options to get from Edinburgh airport to the city centre, all take approx 30-35 minutes. The main rail station Waverley is approx 250 metres from the apt.

1. Edinburgh trams, approx every 8-10 mins (Sunday 12-15 mins), right outside terminal, the nearest drop off point for the apt are the Princes St and St Andrew Sq stops both are approx 800 metres away. Cost 9.10 pounds for adults and 4.50 pounds for children for a RETURN journey.

2. Airport express bus, every 15 minutes right outside terminal building, drop off point on South St David st approx 500 metres from apt. Costs 8.50 pounds per person for a RETURN journey.

3. Taxi, many can be found right outside the terminal building and will cost 25 - 35 pounds for a one way journey. However a taxi will drop you off right outside the property you have booked.


Accessibility

Three steps from pavement to building door then 7 steps down to actual apartment door. People with discbility will have to be able to manage this small amount of stairs to be accommodated at this property.

Amazing Staff

Great location for the Christmas holiday. Lovely Christmas brunch with Prosecco and Lattes. The best part by far was the amazing staff. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them and they were kind and helpful. They made the stay amazing for us!

I love the location of this adorable apartment! We had tours and trips to the castle all within walking distance. The communication with the managers was great which is a must. I highly recommend this place.

Really pleased with the flat. Perfectly located and had everything you could possibly need. Minimal decor but fairly comfortable and cosy. Despite its central location and close proximity to bars and nightclubs, it was fairly quiet inside the flat.

Perfect location for a first visit to Edinburgh

Great communication with the host, easy check-in, and they even allowed us to drop our suitcases while the apartment was still being cleaned from the previous visitors. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed, including a hairdryer. Good location right by all the sites a first time visitor would want to see. It was surprisingly quiet, which we appreciated - the bedrooms are in the back of the apartment away from the street. Overall, a great place to stay!

Incredible location!

Was so wonderful to be a short walk to so many of Edinburgh’s sites! A person met us for check in and gave helpful tips for parking our rental car. Was so thankful to have a washer/drier unit!!

Great location!

Enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean, comfortable and in a perfect location for the Royal Mile and tour buses. The managers were accomodating when our plane was late. The young lady who greeted us provided all the necessary information. Double secure entrances provided safe environment. Guide books, maps, and goodies enhanced our visit.

Well appointed apartment close to the Royal Mile

This apartment was just 1 1/5 blocks off the Royal Mile, making all of our sightseeing goals easy to attain. Communication with the host was great. They worked with us to get access early so we could drop off luggage, gave us assistance in navigating some traffic surprises and met us at the apartment to be sure we understood the 3 step access process and how to use various appliances. The apartment was comfortably decorated and very clean.

2 night stay in Edinburgh for 8

We rented Apt 1 and 2 both basement apartments that share a common locked door but each have their own front door. Ideal for us as a group of 8. We had everything we needed. Comfortable and warm with individual heating in each room. The bedrooms were all located at the back of the building so away from any street noise. The location was very close to the Royal Mile and although the street may have a few characters hanging out on the front steps late at night they didn’t bother us. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic Stay

We were met and shown round the Home. Parking is away from the Home, so beware, you will be paying premium to Park somewhere else. Even though the area is busy with lots of people, your Home is quiet and unassuming. Great communication with Host If you are not from the UK, they use WhatsApp very effectively. W/D a must on those rainy days. You are right in the heart of everything. Fantastic Location. Loved it. Felt very safe and secure.

You will not get a better location. Seriously! Best part of the this listing. Cons Had to buy toilet paper No cork screw for wine Beds are a solid 2 out of 5 Pros Location location location! Great communication Needs a bit of dusting and vacuum behind the couch but overall really clean. Great communication for check in. Nice people.
