AC units in family room and living room (plus ceiling fans) kept the place comfy even on three very hot, humid July days. Also has ceiling fan in first floor bedroom (did not see the upstairs rooms). Enclosed porch faces south but is almost entirely shaded; ceiling fans there kept that comfortable, too. Enjoyed sitting out there during a downpour of rain. Updated full bath off first floor bedroom, updated kitchen, half bath in first floor hall. Huge yard, no nosey (or noisy!) neighbors across the driveway! Owners were responsive to wi-fi issue. One of the best VRBOs I have been in! Located close to one of the great Toledo Metroparks; lots of walking/biking paths there. Just a few miles from Lake Erie beach. Would be happy to return.
Our first time at this house. The house was super clean and well equipped. The owners were very responsive to us and checked in on us during our stay. Would stay again.
We chose this house for our family trip because we needed a first floor bedroom for my elderly mother. I wanted to love the place, it had a charm to it and bathrooms and kitchen were redone. But all furniture except for the suede couch and chair are old and uncomfortable. The first floor has two steps up from the room with the comfy furniture to the rest of the first floor (not handicap accessible as indicated in the listing). So, utilizing that furniture was inconvenient when you are trying to visit with family, especially since mom couldnât do the stairs easily. However, the biggest issue for us during our mid July stay was that when we arrived the house was very hot and musty. I quickly turned on all A/C units and went to buy air freshener while the house cooled down. However, the upstairs was very hot the whole time we were there, 3 nights. It was miserable trying to sleep upstairs and there was no way my son was going to sleep on an air mattress in the bonus room as planned, due to the heat, think of an attic in July. The beds were very uncomfortable as well, specifically the first floor bed and the double in the small room upstairs. They were so bad that my sister and nephew went to a hotel instead of staying the 3rd night and my mom drove back to Dayton. The positives were the pantry items that were onsite, the first aid kit and some toddler toys. It also had a changing table, stroller and I saw a toddler bed in a closet if you are traveling with a small child.
Everything, including location and furnishings was perfect except: We had six of us over the weekend and had trouble finding enough plates and bowls. A few added dishes would have made life easier.
We had 4 adults and 2 kids, and there was plenty of space inside and outside. The kids loved the basketball hoop. There are two full living rooms to spread out. It was very clean, which is most important to us.
Our family grew up in Oregon and we now live in North Carolina, we came home to visit our family that still lives here and to do some wedding planning. This house was perfect for what we needed, and the place was clean and well kept. Our communication with the owners was very easy as well.
This was an excellent house with updated kitchen and bathrooms. The house was clean, and the property owner had great communication. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to turn on the air conditioning units prior to guest arrival. The house was almost 90 degrees when we checked in, and it took almost a full 24 hours for the house to cool down.
We lived in Oregon all our lives and moved away a year ago. Returning to Oregon and staying at Lenny's Lodge was like be back home. We were near all our old neighbors, could use the Wasserman bike/walking trail, fitness court and plenty of open area to hit golf balls with ease. Maumee Bay State Park with its beaches and outdoor activities were just a short drive away. Being outside people the concreted area with a table and umbrella, grill and basketball court made things that much more enjoyable. Grocery, hardware, discount stores and restaurants were easily accessible, then return to quiet country setting at Lenny's Lodge. We are planning to revisit Lenny's again next year. It was a pleasure staying with Matt and Ann Marie, they were very attentive.
Very clean home, steep stairs required for two bedrooms
This home has two updated baths that are both on the first floor. The main bath must be accessed by going through the main floor bedroom. The half bath is accessible to all. The stairs to the second floor are quite steep.
There are many gathering areas in the home that are very nice for larger groups, and the home is well cared for.
The electronic lock on the back door is one I've never seen before. The numbers are not visible until you run your finger around the outside of the flat surface. We struggled a bit to figure it out.
The updated kitchen had everything we needed.
The property is as advertised. The kitchen is great and we loved the furniture in the front room. The other living spaces werenât necessary for our group. You do have to go through the primary bedroom to access the shower. That didnât bother us, but it might bother others. The property outside is awesome, but if you are fishing like we were, make sure you have someone good at backing the boat. I could see people struggling. That said, I would 100% stay here again and didnât have any complaints.
Host was attentive to our needs, home was clean and functional. Some difficulties at check- in were promptly addressed to our satisfaction. Excellent location with proximity to family. Very pleasant retreat, would definitely stay again.
They stay was nice and has easy access to stores and restaurants in the area many within 30 minutes. Having the park and trail right behind the house is a bonus. Utilities worked just fine in the house and check-in and out is very simple. Only thing I would add would be a small A/C unit into the downstairs bedroom as we had a day where the high was in the low 90's and even leaving the door open to try and help cool down the room was still quite warm.
The house is beautifully remodeled with plenty of space for larger groups. The yard backs up to a nice park with a biking path. We enjoyed the flexibility to fix out meals at the house where the kitchen was well stocked. One evening we enjoyed eating outside and biking along the path. The location was ideal for visiting Lake Erie, Magee Marsh and Maumee Bay State Park, along with sightseeing in Toledo.
There is a bike/walking/jogging path that runs beside and behind the home also a short walk down this path to the Oregon ball parks, skate board park, two outdoor basketball courts, volleyball net, and three childrens play sets. For the astronomy observers this propety is a Bortle 5 and with Bortle 4 areas to the east just 4-5 miles.
