Wyeside Cottage is positioned in an amazing scenic location on the River Wye, in the heart of Symonds Yat. The garden is a sun trap and protected from the wind, with direct views over the river and Forest. It's an exceptional place to unwind and enjoy a tea/coffee or a glass of wine whilst spending time with family and friends.
During your stay you will be spoilt for choice of pubs, places to eat, tea rooms and walks within just a few hundred yards. It's a must to hop on to the hand-pulled ferry across the river to the famous Saracens Head for lunch and a drink.
If you are feeling more active canoeing on the river from Kerne Bridge back down to Symonds Yat is very popular amongst guests. And of course you can walk forever is this area, whether your want a gentle walk along the river or a hike up to the Symonds Yat Rock viewpoint. The Forest on the River Wye is simply delightful and relaxing.
If you are into fishing we have a licence, you can bring your rod and sit at the bottom of the garden and fish until your heart is content.
The cottage itself has 3 spacious bedrooms, all 3 have direct views over the river. All bedrooms have wardrobes, spare pillows and blankets if you prefer not to use the duvets. The loft room has the best views with 'Velux' Balconies, and sofa to enjoy the view and 2 double beds pushed together. It therefore can be used as a twin or a double and benefits from a clean en suite bathroom with a powerful shower.
On the first floor are the other 2 bedrooms, they are both large rooms, 1 is a double and the other is a twin room. When you open the curtains in the morning from the double rooms you're be welcomed with stunning views across the river and forest, then you open the window and here the birds singing.
On the ground floor you can spend time in the open plan spacious, fully kitted kitchen and dining area, its ideal for those family gatherings!
The kitchen is well stocked with glasses, wine glasses, pots, pans, oven dishes, crockery and cutlery. There is plenty of work top space to prepare for a family Sunday roast and the dining table comfortably seats 6-8 for dinner time.
The lounge is a great space, with sliding double patio doors open onto the garden and views down to the river. You can chill out seating yourself on one of the comfy sofa's, armchair or bean bag.... whilst kicking back to watch a movie or your favourite programmes on the SMART 50 inch TV. If however you want to spend quality time playing games, we have plenty of board games, packs of cards and garden games to enjoy.
In the garden you can enjoy the sun, scenery and wildlife. There is seating for 8, a charcoal BBQ and small lawn for the kids play on.
You also have the luxury of a boot room, perfect for those muddy boots after your walks and toilet facilities on all 3 floors.
Outside is a secure parking area, that can accommodate up to 4 vehicles and you can also store your bikes securely. The cottage is accessed via a public road which is narrow in places, once you parked up you will need to make your way back to the front door on Ferrie Land. Parking outside of the cottage on Ferrie Lane is not permitted, but useful for loading.
Amenities: Oil central heating plus an open fire. Electric hob, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, toaster, Smart TV, WIFI, two hair dryers, selection of books and magazines.
Linen and towels included in the hiring of the cottage.
Please Note: Garden has direct access to the river. The end of the garden is a low level fence, with a locked gate and if for whatever reason the gate is unlocked children must be supervised at all times by adults.
