We have enjoyed our stay. The apartment is centrally located in Cateret. Restaurants, beaches and shops are within walking distance. The property is only accessible to residents. The apartment offers everything you expect and need for a relaxing and pleasant holiday.
The flat had space for the 4 of us and was well equipped and clean. We enjoyed being on the Carteret side of the estuary for this visit. The local beaches are sandy and easy to get to which we all appreciated.
We enjoyed our one week Holiday in Carteret in the ideal located Appartement of Helen. The apartement is clean, fully equiped and realy big. You have Restaurants and the harbour just a few steps down the street. And you can reach the Beach and Dunes in 20 Minutes Walk. The street is quiet. Site we will Return!
We had a great time at this greatly equipped + wonderful apartment. It's very close to the village (restaurants, pubs, bakery) and only a 20-minutes walk to the beach. Great hikes nearby. Fantastic spot for an ever so enjoyable holiday!
We have enjoyed family holidays in Carteret since buying the apartment in 2004. It has provided us with lovely memories of days on the beach, at the food markets, dining out at wonderful restaurants and cafes - and of course relaxing at the apartment with a good bottle of wine!
The apartment is in a prime location within easy walking distance of Carteret's attractive High Street, bustling waterfront and beautiful sandy beaches. You can choose whether to relax and not go far during your stay - or use it as a base to explore La Manche area of Normandy and its rich history.
La Manche stretches from Mont St Michel to the tip of the Cotentin Peninsula, with picturesque seaside towns and gorgeous scenery to enjoy along the way. It has a fascinating maritime heritage and many remnants from D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.
Key places we have visited during our own trips to Carteret include: - Mont St Michel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and well worth a day trip! - Granville, the birthplace of Christian Dior with an interesting museum and gardens to visit there - Cherbourg with its incredible Cite de la Mer, including the largest submarine open to the public to visit in the world - The Landing Beaches and associated museums/visitor centres.
Of course, pottering about Carteret itself and nearby market towns of Barneville and Portbail can be every bit as enjoyable as big day trips!
For English visitors, the apartment is just 30 minutes' drive from Cherbourg, so getting there is very straightforward.
We love the Michelin-starred Marine restaurant nearby, along with its upmarket deli which sells treats for us to enjoy back at the apartment. The beach is ideal for families, with shallows for children to play in and ice cream and waffles available at the waterfront. For nature lovers there are beautiful walks along Le Cap and nearby countryside.
