We had an absolute wonderful stay at this location. You truly felt away at an Oasis. Beautiful surroundings and artwork. The art gallery is amazing. Not to mention our gracious hosts Sergio and Mariela who are the most kindest people. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Tamarindo!

Incredible place, so glad we stayed here! Our suite was perfect for two and the pool, upper patio and extra outdoor kitchen were ideal. The location, a few mins drive to town/beach made it peaceful and quiet. The hosts were amazing! The artwork, colorful lighting were beautiful and fun vibes. We said hi to the 4 beagles (dogs) on the property each day, dogs secured in a specific area. Felt very safe and secure. Would stay again! Thanks Sergio!

We had such an amazing stay at this beautiful piece of paradise oasis. The suite was immaculate, very roomy, clean, truly very comfortable with all the amenities you need for a long stay (as we stayed a week). Loved our private outdoor shower and the beautiful colorful decor (as our hosts are artists). We also enjoyed hanging out by the pool and common kitchen/dining area especially after a long day out on the beach and touring towns/beaches and various activities/excursions. While the place is just outside of main beach/action of Tamarindo (which can also be a good thing) - we did walk to town a few times (about 20min walk - about a mile or so), but only a few min drive by car or Uber. There is a coffee shop next door and some local grocery stores nearby. We did go to the nearby outdoor local Rural cafe a few times which was quite charming.The hosts, Sergio and Miriella have an amazing place that they take great pride in and always made sure you were well taken care of and enjoying your stay at their beautiful paradise. We really enjoyed our stay! Pura Vida!

Amazing stay

Good sized property and secure with plenty of greenery! Owners very friendly and helpful during our stay. We had a relaxing stay in this little hidden oasis just a short walk from the beach!! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to unwind in Tamarindo.

Wonderful oasis in Tamarindo

We loved this place! It is gated which made us feel very safe being first time visitors. The grounds are beautiful tropical gardens. The accommodation is first class and the owners are lovely, kind people. Highly recommend staying here.

A Little Oasis

The VRBO property was amazing, large unit, an outside shower that we were initially concerned about but turned out to be amazing. The property’s swimming pool was lovely. This location is not in the downtown area but there were a few restaurants that were wonderful

The place was very nice to stay at. It's on the outskirts of town so lots of walking or get a golf cart or rent a car. Not much for taxis around.

This property is a beautiful oasis just outside the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo and still close enough to enjoy the town and beach. We had a car and parking was great. It would likely be a 30 minute walk to town. Sergio and Mariela are wonderful hosts and their art gallery is on the property. Their works really capture the spirit of the region. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Lovely property

Overall it was a lovely stay. Clean and well maintained. Kitchenette is small and not conducive for making meals so be prepared for that. You HAVE to have a car as there are no sidewalks for biking or walking to Tamarindo. Common area with a small pool is clean and lovely.

Hello, thank you for your comment regarding the kitchen, it is complete where you can cook. It has an electrical template. pans. noodle strainer. salad bowl. dishes. . oil, salt and seasoning. microwave. fridge. toaster and coffee maker. water heater. paper towel. coffee. tea and sugar. blender. cutting board and knives. glasses. cups. coffee maker, everything you need to cook and the space is perfect, no one has told us anything about the kitchen since it is perfect for people. We hope to see you again.

Private, but close to all the action

The bungalow was a private oasis only minutes away from the beach, great restaurants, shopping and all sorts of excursions. The gardens and pool provided a relaxing respite after a day on the beach. There is a wonderful coffee shop, Tamarindo Coffee Roasters, only steps away from the property, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee, latte and a variety of pastries. Groceries are only a five minute walk away, as well. Mariela and Sergio have definitely earned the Premier Host designation. They were welcoming and available for any questions or need we had. They definitely enhanced our Pura Vida experience!

Safe and very secure property.

Marielo and Sergio were wonderful hosts. They attended every need with great communication. They went over and above providing a medical kit when we had an injury. The security cameras and secure gate made us feel very safe. I would recommend this property to anyone seeking a quiet, safe and tranquil setting to relax. Restaurants and groceries were very close and easily accessible. I want to thank Mariela and Sergio for their gracious hospitality and allowing us accesss to their other property and pool. That was over and above kindness .

The property is beautiful, however there is no privacy. The landlords kitchen is outdoors next to the pool. The accommodations are lovely, but they don't tell you that you can't flush toilet paper...you put it in a bag and dispose of it in the trash. Happy I was there with my sister and not my romantic partner. I was disappointed in the shared space. 😔

A Beautiful Oasis in Tamarindo

Sergio and Mariela are amazing hosts and will do everything to ensure that your stay is comfortable and enjoyable... right up to providing the fresh bananas from the tree onsite! The pool is very refreshing after a day at the beach or just being in the hot temps. The property is beautiful and when you're within the walls of it, it's hard to believe that you're not in a tropical rainforest. As others have said, the kitchenette is small and if you're planning to make serious meals there, it can be a bit challenging. There is a communal, outdoor kitchen that I believe could be used if more space is needed. Also, as others have mentioned, you'll likely need a car since the closest beach access is about 2km down the narrow, busy road. Golf carts could work too. We would have liked to have rented bikes to get around, but it was simply too risky on the roads for our liking.

Ideal Oasis at the Edge of Tamarindo

My wife and I arrived to the happiest greetings from Sergio, Mariela, and their 4 corgis. Entering their Tamarindo Art Gallery, with the vibrant colors and styles elevated our first impressions. They guided us through a tour of the private oasis they've created over the last 10+ years, filled with art, water features, exotic plants and flowers, and private pool. The Bungalow was spacious, temperature controlled, with a large lounging sofa, kitchenette, and king bed where you wake up to the sun through the trees and birds singing. Sliding glass doors open to the wrapped patio, to enable either a private or open-to-the-courtyard experience. The outdoor shower, backed with a wall of living vines, and frogs, opened to the vanity bathroom, made for an incredibly unique adventure. WE LOVED this experience. I almost want to keep it a secret, because I can't imagine a better location for a private get away. The bungalow is close enough to Tamarindo to do all the beach/touristy activities, but far enough away that the prices at the grocery story within walking distance is cheaper than downtown Tamarindo, and you don't have to deal with the tourist traffic. We felt very safe the entire time, and had a lighted parking spot in front of the Tamarindo Art Gallery that gave quick and easy access to any trips day or night we went on. We came and went at all times of the day/night, and were met each time by 4 very happy dogs (gated to a separate portion of the property, away from our bungalow), who took their job of security seriously, but recognized us as friends after the initial introduction from Mariela and Sergio. Our friends stayed at a resort about 20 minutes from our location, which cost 3x what we paid, and they were all envious of our location, privacy, and experience. We ended up purchasing a few works of art from the Tamarind Art Gallery to bring a piece of it home with us. As I'm writing this looking at Sergio and Mariela's masterpieces, I miss reading in the hammock, while birds sing over my head, and frogs jump from leaf to leaf. I can't say enough good about this location. It was perfect. Sergio and Mariela have thought through everything that makes this an oasis. Everything about this Bungalow is a piece of art. I'd keep it a secret if I were only able to enjoy it more frequently. Thank you Mariela and Sergio. You went way above my expectations, and I wish all the best for you, your family, and hope we meet again at your oasis.

Best part of our trip!!!

If I were to do my reservation over I would’ve stayed longer in this location. This is an ideal location for those who want resort amenities but anonymity as well. Sergio was absolutely wonderful the garden and pool area are gorgeous. Five stars!!!!!

We had the absolute best stay we’ve had thus far through VRBO! Not only were Sergio and Mariela the consummate hosts, the property was a private paradise close to Tamarindo. We hope to stay with them again. Pura Vida!
