The Cotswold Guy Apartment, near Bourton-on-the-Water, is a well-presented, dog friendly holiday home which sleeps four guests, in two bedrooms, with one spacious bathroom. The stylish open plan sitting area overlooks the village green, and throughout the property there are character features including a wood burner, exposed beams and a beautiful exposed stone wall in the playroom in the eaves. Guests of The Cotswold Guy Apartment are welcome to use the enclosed garden at The Cotswold Guy, located next door and below the accommodation, selling fantastic local produce and delicious coffee.

Accommodation
This two bedroom holiday home is the perfect choice for a romantic getaway, or for a group of friends or family who are looking for a break in the North Cotswolds. The accommodation is laid out as follows:

Ground Floor
The front door opens into an entrance hall with storage space for coats and boots. From here, stairs lead up to the first floor

First Floor

Kitchen
Open plan, Smeg fridge/freezer, induction hob, oven with grill, washing machine, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and two stools

Sitting/dining room
Wood burner, two-seater leather Chesterfield sofa, armchair, wicker chair, wall-mounted Smart TV with Sky (account holders only), and dining table with seating for six

Bathroom
Bath with overhead shower and separate shower attachment, loo, basin and heated towel rail

Primary bedroom (Sleeps 2)
Eaves room, exposed beams, king size bed, two bedside tables, wall mirror, chest of drawers and hanging rail

Bedroom 2 (Sleeps 2)
Two single beds, wall mirror, small storage unit and hanging rail

Second Floor
A door on the first floor landing conceals a staircase which leads up directly into the children's playroom

Guests of The Cotswold Guy Apartment are welcome to use the garden of The Cotswold Guy farm shop next door (this is a shared and enclosed area with pub-style wooden bench tables and parasols)

Perfect historic stay in the Cotswolds

Great location; we loved the cafe opposite for breakfast and found the apartment spacious. The apartment would be 5 stars except for a few upgrades needed (Blinds / curtains in the living room missing; handheld shower broken, no caffetiere or tea / coffee) But this aside we had a fab stay and would return and recommend to others.

Weekend stay

The check in process was easy to understand, no issues upon arrival. Quaint little property with well equipped kitchen and nice clean, comfortable beds. The only grumble we had was that a few people had mentioned issues with the shower, I assumed that would have been fixed but unfortunately not. There was no seal on the bottom of the shower door so it kept swinging onto me whilst I was showering and I believe the hand held shower unit was missing as when you turned the shower on, water would blast out of the hole where it should have been - that either needs to be replaced or capped off. We didn't have any hot water in the evenings and although we did try, we couldn't work out why, perhaps an instruction booklet would be helpful, but we don't think it was broken as the water was hot in the morning. The village was lovely, we ate breakfast in the post office cafe across the road, the food was superb. The staff were super friendly and everyone seems to gravitate to that spot. We also went to the pub which is a very short walk away and of course, purchased the famous sausage rolls from the Cotswold Guy shop underneath the property. We were not disturbed by any noise or cooking smells from the shop. All in all we loved our stay, but the shower and hot water does need to be sorted out.

Perfect girls weekend away!

The cottage is just perfect for a cosy get away with friends! It’s like being in the holiday! My girlfriends and I stayed and it’s perfect for a weekend away the apartments really cosy and beautiful. The village has a gorgeous farm shop (Cotswold guy literally underneath the apartment) and a wonderful pub and everyone was so friendly. It’s a very remote village but we went on long walks to other pubs and drove to Daylesford farm shop just a perfect place for a get away

A lovely last minute stay

We decided last minute to book a break at the Cotswolds and the Cotswolds Lady was available. We were so happy with the accommodation it was comfortable, stylish and also spacious. I hadn’t heard of Guiting Power but such a lovely little village with 2 good pubs situated at either end that we tried and totally recommend for food. Will definitely book again.

Peaceful retreat

Such a lovely property in a very beautiful and quiet hamlet but with plenty of amenities. Lots of fabulous places to visit that are easily accessible from this location. Would definitely return.

Clean and cosy

This cottage has everything you need. Pots, pans, utensils, chopping knives. It was a lovely little cottage. (Take a tin opener) Someone says it was noisy from the kitchen, but it closes at 4 pm everyday and they leave at around 5ish, so it never bothered us as we were out everyday. It is in the middle of nowhere, but everything is a 10 minute drive away. This village has a pub (which gets very busy, book if you can) the shop underneath does the best sausage rolls ever! They’re actually famous! And David Beckham visits just for the sausage rolls. There is also a park for children and another coffee shop, that is also a post office. They do really nice coffee there also. In the cottage it’self, they provide tea towels and towels and washing up liquid. But take your own shampoo and shower get. The shower is really powerful, it was lovely! I would definitely recommend coming here and would come back again. The WiFi we struggled with, but Chris (the owner) came to help us out and I believe it was just bad the week we were there. Thank you for such a great few days!

Lovely stay

We had a great time at the property and the village/surrounding area is lovely. It certainly didn't impact our trip, but the main issue was the lack of hot water in the evenings (not ideal after busy days out) which, despite boosting the boiler, was a regular occurrence. Also the little touches like no hand soap when we arrived and one of the blinds not working. Otherwise it was a pleasure to stay and we will most likely be back in the future!

This was the second time we have stayed and we shall be back. The flat is extremely clean and despite the cold weather we were very comfortable.

Lovely cosy cottage facing the green. Can walk to 2 pubs and A lovely cafe opposite in the post office. People were very friendly . Very good communication .We were very lucky to see it in the snow

Convenient Cotswold

A lovely comfortable cottage in the heart of a gem of a Cotswold village. Two pubs and two cafes within walking distance. A top tip for the perfect stay is to bring your essentials with you as there is no get you in pack. Highly recommended.

October Half Term break

Lovely cottage in quaint Cotswold village with 2 decent pubs serving good food. Cottage was lovely with all the mod cons you would expect at home. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location but property is not adequate

The building and location is absolutely stunning, there are lots of amenities in the apartment, and the layout is great. Unfortunately, after numerous communications, I have to report some disappointments with the property. I have sent a thorough report to customer service services and chase them and still have heard nothing. There was no Wi-Fi in the daytime in the apartment, and upon reading previous feedback this is something that has been an issue for awhile and it’s still not resolved… which is the most disappointing thing. There is no TV. Which when you have a family makes things difficult, obviously when you’re out and about in the day it’s no problem. The main bed was completely broken on one side and incredibly uncomfortable. The shower was broken and the window protecting the floor from splashback was broken. There was no hand washed provided or even soap. The oven door is broken, and there is a knack to actually shutting the door. Finally, there wasn’t any small welcome goodies, I’ve never stayed in an apartment that didn’t offer a tiny token on arrival… a loaf of bread even… which having in the shop downstairs seemed baffling. I’d stipulated that we were staying for a special wedding anniversary so it was disappointing that there was no acknowledgement of this… these are the things that make a difference. We are desperately disappointed with this apartment, we stay in numerous Cottages across the United Kingdom and this one has been by far worst. It’s such a shame because the location is wonderful and we had a great time in spite of the apartment having such fundamental flaws.

A great stay in an idyllic location.

A beautifully decorated, quirky apartment in a idyllic village setting, a great place to explore the Cotswolds from. We visited both the local pubs, great places to rest after a busy day with good food and a drink. Also, we sampled breakfast and coffee and cakes at the Old Post Office and pain au chocolate from the Cotswold Guy, which were all delicious. We found all the places we visited to be dog friendly too. Our only criticism was, we had a few issues with the oven, not sure if that was us though? We would definitely revisit the Cotswold Lady.

Nice place to relax

An authentic old English village with two traditional pubs, shop and coffee shop. We were there to relax and walk the local countryside and were not disappointed. Accommodation was cosy and comfortable with some lack of attention to maintenance, ie mould on bathroom tiles, bedroom tv out of action and no instructions for the oven (found it online) Tourist info was way out of date and no guidance on where to find supermarkets or food deliveries. In summary, enjoyable and recommended,but a little TLC would be wdlcomdd red.

Cotswold lady

We recently stayed at this property and overall found it to be a pleasant place, but there were several issues that need to be highlighted. There was quite a bit of noise from downstairs, particularly doors banging, which could be annoying. This only really bothered us because we were in the property most of the time, but it’s something to be aware of. The bedroom also has sloping ceilings, so you need to be careful as it’s easy to bang your head. The bathroom, particularly the shower, definitely needs updating. There was no shower hose, which caused water to spray and led to flooding. The shower screen was also broken. We contacted the owner twice about these issues but didn’t receive any response until after we had already left. Thankfully, there was no serious emergency, but the lack of communication was disappointing and not reassuring. There was also no welcome pack provided, which would have been a nice touch. Overall, it’s a pleasant place, but improvements are needed, especially regarding maintenance and communication.

The Lady Abides

The property description is accurate in that it does have steep stairs and low ceilings. Add a little over 6 foot I had to watch my head walking around the place. However, the bed is quite comfortable the kitchen as well pointed and the living room is comfortable as well. The location is excellent, and parking isn’t a problem unless a TV show comes in to film., but that is the price of a truly picturesque location.

Short 6 day Stay

Comfortable accommodation in beautiful, quiet village. Well equipped for a short (or longer) stay. Centrally located for travelling to other parts of the Cotswolds. Close to supermarkets etc in nearby villages and great coffee ship across the road. Unfortunate, continual music with associated loud beat from the property downstairs became an annoyance. No respite at all until closing! Very disturbing! Both window blinds in living area were broken by previous visitors and not repaired prior to our visit.

Cotswold Lady Review

We enjoyed our stay overall and loved the village the Lady Cotswold is in but did have a couple issues to which we never received any reply to an inquiry. As one particular subject was important (inability to get hot water), the lack of any help to rectify the situation was discouraging.

Guiting Power Cottage

Pros Great location, plenty of space/bedrooms. Lovely play room, above a farm shop. Clean. Cons Water did stay hot for long and had to Lee heating it up with timer. Ceiling from landing to bedrooms incredibly low so only suitable for anyone 5ft9 and under. I’m 6ft and my son is 5ft 11 and we both had to duck around of the cottage. No basic amenities ie milk, sugar, tea bags to tie us over giving the timing of local shops. Stayed in other cottages and always had a welcome pack.

10/10 Excellent

Heaven on Earth!

I stayed at The Cotswold Lady for a week with my two children aged 10 & 13. The cottage was spotless and such a beautiful, restful environment to explore the Cotswolds from. The kids especially appreciated the games room which was well stocked with all the classics & there was a fabulous play park nearby. The village was close enough to the tourist hotspots, but off the main drag. It was nice to escape the busier towns to somewhere that was ‘gently bustling’ with a lovely cafe, pubs and of course the Cotswold Guy! It seemed to be a stopping point for hikers & cyclists. Parking nearby to the property was never a problem. The cottage did have some quite steep stairs that might be off putting to people with mobility issues or very young children, otherwise it’s perfect and comes highly recommended. We arranged our visit through StayCotswold, who were very helpful and managed to secure us a last minute booking.

Lovely apartment but noisy kitchen below

The apartment was nicely decorated and well equipped, in a beautiful location with a fabulous children's park nearby. Comfy bed in the main bedroom. Clean and tidy. Unfortunately our stay was spoilt by the noise of the kitchen below. There is a constant 'whirring' all night and then from 8am you can hear music and conversations as the staff arrive to the deli. Our first night, I was woke by someone entering the kitchens after 11, which was quite scary and unexpected. There was no welcome folder, to provide basic info, which would have been helpful e.g how to work the oven, get hot water, where to empty the bins etc. Tele in bedroom didn't work and single beds were creaky.

We do advertise that some noise is to be expected from the commercial kitchen below during working hours. We do provide all guests with the contact details for the property manager who is on hand to assist guests during their stay with things like how to work the oven and any maintenance issues like the TV not working. We do hope that you will be back to stay in the Cotswolds again soon!

Gorgeous location but ......

The Cotswold Lady is in a beautiful location, with views over the chocolate box village green. It is fairly quiet with a couple of pubs, a cafe, deli and lots of fabulous walks. The main problems we had were that we felt it could have been a bit cleaner, in particular the floors didn't seem to have been mopped for a while. The two bedrooms are situated over the shop/deli downstairs so there is noise from about 7.30 am when the kitchen opens. We also found that there was plenty of hot water in the mornings but none at night even though we switched on the booster as suggested by the house manager. Finally, some basic equipment seemed to be missing such as a dustpan and brush and a broom. We broke a glass and eventually had to clear it up using kitchen roll as there was nothing else available and the house contact did not seem very interested in assisting us. Having said that, the staff in the deli were very helpful and friendly and maybe we were just unlucky. Overall, I would recommend it, mainly because of the location, but with reservations as mentioned above.

Convenient location but a lot of noise from the shop kitchen under the bedroom

We wanted a property in the village so that we could walk to the music festival, and in that respect it was fine. it was quiet in the evenings, but we were disturbed the first morning by shouting and loud rap music from the kitchen below, where staff were baking for The Cotswold Guy. The owner asked me if we had been disturbed, and she asked the staff not to play music and to keep the noise down, which they did. She also gave us free coffee, which was much appreciated. It would be useful if The Cotswold Guy could be informed when the Cotswold Lady is let. Living accommodation pleasant and kitchen reasonably well-equipped, although the only pan big enough for pasta wasn't suitable for the hob and so took 35 minutes to heat up. There were no egg cups, and not enough mugs, unless you put the dishwasher on when it isn't full. Double bedroom always hot because of the kitchen, with a pervasive smell of cooking. Another hook in the bathroom for bathrobes would have been nice, plus a table for washbags etc. I possibly sound more negative than I intend, but a number of small amendments would help.

Excellent

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - 2 adults and 1 child - in the Cotswold Lady: plenty of space, good size bedrooms and living space, great shop beneath, village with two good pubs and the post office opposite (great for breakfast). We will definitely look to stay again. A few minor issues: TV in bedroom not working, duvet in main bedroom was too small for the bed and it could do with a good spring clean (dirt down side of bed, in sofa, top of fridge etc - all the bits that don’t get captured in a general day to day clean).
