We stayed at the beautifully quirky property in Appledore the second week of August. We actually stayed at the property in front named Myrtle Cottage. It was a spacious property, with bucket loads of character. It still maintained a cosy feel with a lovely open fire.
The real standout features of this property were it's fantastic location with parking and all the amazing artwork on the walls. There were themed bedrooms, which were all very comfortable too.
Danielle the owner was so friendly and helpful with lots of helpful advice about the happenings in Appledore.
The village itself was beautiful. It sits on an estuary and has stunning views across. There are wonderful, quaint streets full of lovely little shops. It has a real village rather than touristy feel. The pubs play host to lots of music nights, which my older boys really enjoyed. The Champ was our favourite.
We thoroughly recommend Myrtle Cottage and Appledore for all ages. Northam Burrows is a very short drive away and a weekly ticket can be purchased at a reasonable price that allows access to three lovely, but different beaches to suit all tastes.
