A beautifully crafted Heritage Turnkey Shepherds hut constructed locally in Somerset. Set in a private location in the picturesque gardens of Corner House, it boasts magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. Comfortable wall bed that folds away during the day to offer living space of oak framed bench seats to either side of foldable Oak table with storage chests below. Fully modern en suite shower room with toilet, basin and heated towel rail. Kitchen with solid Oak worktop, Shaws undercounter sink, induction 2-hob, integrated fridge, 2 cupboards and 2 drawers. Full height airing cupboard / wardrobe with high level shelf and mirror.
New Swedish Sauna exclusively available to Shepherds Hut guests - seats 4, electric heater, magnificent countryside views, outdoor shower. Free use of sauna for guests staying 2+ nights (optional £30 usage charge for 1 night stay guests)
Corner House is a beautiful early 18th Century thatched cottage with characterful rooms and a luxury Shepherds Hut with Swedish sauna in the grounds. Corner House has plenty of rural charm, with a picturesque rose garden and secluded lawn. The house offers 2 double bedrooms for guests. One room is ensuite on the ground floor. The other bedroom is on the first floor with a private bathroom. The Shepherds hut is en suite and privately located. Shepherds Hut includes a private Swedish sauna nearby. Sauna use free for 2+ night Shepherds Hut booking (an optional 30 pound sterling charge for 1 night stay guests ). Welcome food pack included for Shepherds Hut guests. Home made bread and conserves. Breakfast included for Blue and Green Rooms. Tea and coffee making in each room. Free WiFi.
A quiet enclave yet conveniently situated a few miles from the A30 and the A303, it is a wonderful place to stay on your visit to the South West. Cudworth is within a 10 minute drive of Ilminster, 30 minutes from Lyme Regis and the Jurassic coast, and 12 minutes to the mainline train station in Crewkerne.

Breakfast included: home baked bread, home made granola, full English breakfast, free range eggs, fresh orange juice, home made jams and local honey, coffee and tea. Vegetarians catered for.

The hosts are charming, and very helpful but not at all intrusive. The shepherds hut is well kitted out, comfy and spotlessly clean. It’s hidden away in a very secluded part of the garden for total privacy and gorgeous views. Homemade cake and tea on arrival was a real treat. Everything was simply lovely.

Fantastic experience from start to finish!

From the moment we arrived Martyn & Marina were there with a smile! The lush garden looked beautiful and I was blown away by the Wisteria! We had dinner with our hosts one evening which was authentic pizza done in their wood burning oven! Master chef quality matched with a humble, friendly approach! If you are looking for something off the beaten track and with charm then this is ideal.

Amazing stay at Corner House's new Shepard's hut!

This was the second time we have stayed at corner house, This time we stayed for 2 nights in there new Shepard's hut and it was fantastic! Martyn and Marina again were so welcoming and make you feel at home straight away. We opted for a 3 course meal on the first night which was really lovely home cooked food. Would defiantly recommend a stay here at Corner house and we can't wait to stay here again.

I wish I'd been able to stay longer.

The Corner House is a rare jewel and Martyn and Marina perfect hosts. We were fortunate to stay in the luxurious and intimate Shepherd's Hut, and woke to a chorus of birdsong. Breakfast proved sumptuous and set us up for a day discovering the Gertrude Jekyll designed gardens at Barrington Court. Montacute House too is close by, Tintinhull only a few minutes drive and we strolled along the lane to the 12th century St Michael's Church in the village. Somerset is beautiful, this B&B even more so.

Absolutely Great!!

We stayed two nights at Martin and Marnias Shepherds Hut. It was great!!. Apart from being two of the nicest people you could wish to meet the place was idyllic. It was clean comfortable with all the facilities you could need. The welcome pack was very useful. We had dinner there the first night and Marinas cooking was first class. I could go on but I suggest you go find out for yourself..

The Perfect Weekend Getaway

...the "Getaway" being a break from the normal day-to-day hamster wheel of life, but without having to go too far to find it! Having spent a few days in shepherd huts in Devon in 2020, I knew this would be the perfect scenario for a relaxing weekend amidst beautiful countryside. The Corner House, Somerset, did not disappoint. Martyn and Marina were the perfect hosts; friendly and accommodating but respectful of privacy. Marina's home-cooked delights were very much appreciated, and added to the feeling of being spoilt in a stunningly rural corner of Somerset. The cream tea I ordered on arrival could not have been more appreciated. Not to mention Morris the cat, who politely kept his distance until encouraged to join us before we departed! Truly a perfect weekend, thank you!

Martyn and Marina ran a successful Bed and Breakfast for 7 years in Paros, Greece, and have returned to Somerset to offer their hospitality to visitors to the South West. They fell in love with the charm of Corner House, with its old world atmosphere, beautiful garden, thatched roof and "chocolate box" appeal. Marina is Italian and a keen cook, as well as a yoga instructor. Martyn worked for many years in the IT industry before early retirement. He is a Scuba instructor and keen home brew beer maker! Cudworth is a quiet location, but well positioned for the Jurassic Coast, Mendip Hills, and all the best sites to visit in the South West. There are plenty of local footpaths and country lanes to ramble through, with a golf course, a local country pub and the famous Perry's cider mill and museum all within walking distance. The new Swedish sauna offers a relaxing spa experience.
