The home is now air conditioned.
Gorgeous property with beautiful walking trails and lots of wildlife. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Went above and beyond. The house is well equipped and exactly what we were looking for. Bijagua is a quaint little town with friendly people. Car rental would be recommended. Overall an incredible experience. Highly recommend if you want a genuine experience.
Loved everything. The wildlife right on their property was amazing. Baby sloth and mommy right in the tree outside the door. Jonathan was great too and showed us a lot of fun stuff. We did the tubing excursion and had so much fun. Itâs not for the faint of heart. Perfect for our fam! Recommend going on the hike into park to see that beautiful Celeste River and waterfall.
Had a great stay here. They were very communicative from the start. Loved that they provided recommended activities near by. We had quite the show of monkeys the first day we arrived right outside our door.
The house and property are just excellent. We arrived early and had a picnic at the mirador - picnic table up on a stand and covered, with views out toward Miravalles Volcano. There are lots to do in the greater vicinity and this is a beautiful location. The host met us and was available if we needed. Lovely stay and highly recommended!
Absolutely amazing and beautiful! Highly recommend this house. Owners were wonderful. Property was peaceful and gorgeous. Awesome private trail on property that leads to a cute overlook tower. Even saw (and heard!) howler monkeys right outside our door!
It was our first time in Bijagua. Do not miss if you like nature. Hana's was perfect for us. Beautiful home on a large private property with nature trails. We saw howler monkeys, three-toed sloth, squirrel cuckoo, lesson's motmot, and many more while enjoying a late afternoon drink just behind the house. Kamal was a wonderful host, very quick to respond and very helpful. Perfect stay.
This place is absolutely beautiful and so unique. Exactly what you you would want to experience in a Costa Rica jungle. As we arrived early evening, we saw a faimly of holler monkeys, even the mama and baby! We walked the amazing well kept grounds and were in awe with the 500 yr. old tree. The location is close to restaurants, shops and beautiful Rio Celeste waterfall....absolutely stunning and worth the hike! We will be returning again early 2025. We loved it so much.... the hosts we're so nice, personable and very accommodating people.
The immaculate 3 bedroom house is on a large property with a ton of wildlife that you can hear and see from the house or private trails: howler monkeys, sloths, toucans, hummingbirds, chickens, ducks, roosters etc with great views of Miravalles volcano too! I was very comfortable letting my 12yo roam the gated property by herself. The on-site owners (fluent in English & Spanish) and daily staff go out of their way to point out animals or help you find activities. Heliconias Swinging bridges is up the steep street and Rio Celeste is an easy 20-min drive. Tons of hot springs, several restaurants, and a few grocery stores are also close-by. We also spent a day with Tenorio Adventure Co rafting and using ATVs. We did go the hottest week of the year and it did get warm inside even with the fans. However the house had everything we needed and was a terrific way to start our vacation. I would gladly stay her again! Thank you for letting us visit! Download Google Maps and WhatsApp before you arrive.
This was our first time to CR and we did not know what to expect. Bertha and Kamal were so communicative, kind and helpful we immediately felt at ease with Hanaâs being our first place to stay. It was very easy to get there from the Liberia airport and the property itself is set apart from the main town on a quiet lush green street where all you hear is the sound of nature. The gated entrance made us feel completely safe. The house itself was spacious with incredible huge windows that allowed us to see so much wildlife. There is a sweet very well maintained trail right from the front doorstep of Hanas that was incredible. We saw toucans and so many bird varieties we lost count. Butterflies, all sorts of fun insects AND a sloth right next to the house. We saw more wildlife there than at tenario national park - it must be the peace and serenity that is present on the property. The town itself is perfect, not too touristy yet plenty of food options of all sorts, fun little food marts to go in and explore and there are a TON of activities around. We only stayed for two nights and wished we had booked 4 of 5 to be able to properly take it all in.A highlight for us was taking a guided hike through another property that Berthaâs family owns/stewards which is a primary forest (never been cut). The tour was given by Jonathan (Berthaâs brother) who was warm, enthusiastic and super patient with our children - setting up the special viewing scope. 10/10 experience all around
A beautiful setting, with some short trails that we explored during out stay. We saw two sloths up in the trees - one was literally right outside the house and came to the same spot twice. There were so many howler monkeys in the forest around the house that my daughter spent hours just hanging outside with her binoculars and camera. The house itself was very clean, basic but comfortable, and the newly installed air conditioners were useful in the evenings after our day trips. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful, and even made an arrangement with their cook to have a meal prepared for us when we arrived to the house. The only negative I can think of is that there actually is another apartment in the same structure (someting that was not apparent from the listing description), and it was occupied while we were there. (Not a huge problem since we were rarely around during the day, but it did add some unwelcome noise). All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the place very much, and would consider renting it again if we are in the area.
Fantastic location a very easy drive from Liberia airport. We saw sloths, monkeys, toucans all from the front porch. Just a few steps away is a beautifully maintained walking trail through rainforest property where we were able to check out cool bugs and plants growing on more plants growing on trees growing on bigger trees. Nature is everywhere! Our kids enjoyed playing with the friendly kids at the main house. A great experience!
House is just as photos show and more! We had a great stay and it was very centrally located to all we wanted to do. Kamal was very helpful and friendly and introduced himself to us the first night! Communication is excellent, easy to find, and home is beautifully done and well stocked. I would highly recommend! Great value!
We loved everything about Hanaâs - the house, the jungle and trails, the wildlife, and the more local and less tourist feel of the area. My family really enjoyed the typical Casado food at very reasonable prices. My were treated to a family of 8 howler monkeys climbing around the property, a friendly sloth in the trees, and numerous tropical birds. Despite no AC we slept great in the mountain area. We stayed in 3 different areas in Costa Rica and this was the best balance of local feel and modern amenities . Itâs great for anyone who wants to be close to nature in relative comfort.
We absolutely loved our stay! We thought that it might be a bit challenging to live in the jungle without air-conditioning, but the ceiling fans provided us enough cool air to sleep comfortably. The location is so great! Hiking trails right on the property so everyone had something to do while waiting for others. We were blessed with a tree full of howler monkeys one afternoon right on the property. They were so fun to watch! We absolutely loved the bakery at the end of the road right before getting on the main highway. The hanging bridges are just minutes away and provided a full afternoon of free hiking and exploring. We enjoyed the Rio Celeste Waterfall hike and swimming in the free pool, we took in a sloth tour and a tree chocolate tour. Everything was within just a few minutes! The local sodas were fabulous and we particularly liked the one with the famous Costa Rican butterflies. Kamal was super responsive Anderson helpful and even brought over a much needed bag of rice when a cell phone got wet! I would highly recommend staying at this property!
