Littleton Cottage

Littleton is a truly exceptional little cottage nestled in the heart of the Glenmuick Estate woodland providing the perfect cosy getaway.

This newly renovated cottage has one Double Bedroom and one Twin Bedroom (both with their own shower rooms), open plan Kitchen/Dining Room/Sitting Room . The Sitting Room has a cosy log burner, WiFi and a Digital TV with DVD player.

All heating, linen, towels and logs are provided. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer in a separate Utility Room.

Lovely cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was very well equipped. The only thing we felt was missing was a wardrobe. An added bonus would have been a bird table on the patio.

Very comfortable cottage in beautiful location.

The cottage is set in a beautiful location in woodland with hills beyond. Ballater is the nearest small town which is 20 mins walk away with cafes, shops and restaurants. We had a lovely time. Highly recommended.

Ahhhhhh! Littleton is a slice of heaven!

I cannot tell you how much my wife and I enjoyed the Littleton cottage, Ballater and the entire area. The cottage is perfectly located…easy trip into town for supplies or a lovely coffee at The BothyBallater, and yet the cottage is quiet and peaceful. We had a lovely visit with the neighbor’s sheep and saw some cute, just born lambs. The deer and pheasants made the stay that much better. Can’t wait to plan a trip back!

Just great!

Littleton is one of the best properties we have ever stayed in. We absolutely loved the tranquility of the location and inside the cottage was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We didn’t want to leave.

Comfy, cosy and so special

The cottage was exceptional, well equiped, very clean, nicely decorated and positioned close to Ballater for walks into town for lunch or a coffee and wander around and to visit the local attractions and nearby towns. It is also positioned well to visit the east coast and whiskey trail areas and the Cairngorm walks. Staying for a week it was so helpful having the laundry and equipment. Our stay was very enjoyable.

Lovely house in a beautiful setting

A lovely house surrounded by fields and woodland. Well-equipped generally and nicely furnished, bright and spacious. It’s just a short drive from Ballater. It was just perfect for our week’s stay in the Cairngorms.

Beautiful Getaway

We had a wonderful week in this well equiped cottage. Nothing was missing, except some pint glases for beer lovers. But this is nothing essential ;) we would love to come back some day. Ballater is a lively small town that welcomes you!

Littleton Cottage

We've had a wonderful stay at Littleton , the cottage is very well equipped and comfortable . The weather was stunning and not one shower for the week , we thoroughly enjoyed watching the deer at night and listening to the birds and wildlife on the estate . The area is so beautiful and Littleton was a really lovely tranquil place to stay away from the pressures of life , we will be back

Great owners

We had a problem accessing the property when we arrived and Jacqui and Lynn could not have been more helpful in getting it resolved. The cottage's location is beautiful and so peaceful and the cottage itself is very well equipped with everything we needed. Thank you.

An incredible surrounding and beautiful house

for us it was a relaxing environment in a very busy week. Our participation in the Royal Deeside golf week could not be better than from this beautiful house. in the house everything is present and clean. The access road to the house can be a problem for low cars, in our case it resulted in a flat tire due to the loose stones.

Beautiful Property, Stunning Location

Beautifully presented property in a quiet woodland location but within walking distance of Ballater. Very impressed on first entering Littleton; lovely furnishings and pictures. The house was warm, spacious and very comfortable for a longer stay. Stunning countryside and rivers to explore with easy access and walking paths. Ballater is a friendly town with lots of shops and eateries. It is well worth driving down to Loch Muick and to the top of the Cairngorms both day and night for fabulous long views and dark sky stars!

Perfect Stay in Ballater

We stayed here (4 adults) and made Littleton Cottage our home base for several day trips in the Scottish Highlands. The cottage was well furnished, very clean and exquisitely appointed with lovely furnishings and good linens. A washing machine and clothes tumbler were so helpful since we’d been traveling for several days prior. (There is not a wardrobe or closets for hanging clothes.)The grounds/garden were stunning, with foxgloves, thistle and more in full bloom during our stay. We took several walks on the estate and saw the nearby sheep and cows, the MacKenzie baronetcy ruins and lots of wild life, since it is so close to the River Dee.The town of Ballater is very close by and has a Co-Op, lots of shops and restaurants and is bustling with visitors and locals this time of year. It’s 20 minutes to Balmoral Castle and Royal Lochnagar Distillery. I highly recommend this property!

Pluspunten:Keurig gerenoveerdLigt mooi in het bos Reeen, hazen, fazanten gezien.Netjes en schoonRuim huis met grote tuinGroot stevig bedGrote keuken met veel opbergruimteVloerverwarming, prima temperatuur in huisGrote warme berging/ washok met droger/ wasmachine, helaas alleen een klein wasrekje, geen waslijnen of droogmolen.Het huis lijkt ingericht te zijn om er 1 of 2 nachtjes te blijven,zodat je zelf niet veel opbergruimte nodig hebt.Minpunten:De weg er naar toe( onverhard,stenen en hoog gras)Geen kastruimte om je kleding ik te bergen,Alleen een klein lade kastje.Geen ruimte in de badkamer voor je toiletspullen.Het krijgen van heet water in de keuken duurt heel lang, veel verspilling van water.Geen koffiezetapparaat, alleen een waterkoker.

Peaceful and relaxed

A very well equipped and comfortable cottage in a very peaceful and relaxed location. So much to do in the Ballater area and some lovely walks in the forest surrounding the cottage. Lovely to see the deer coming up to the cottage garden.
