We are sorry that you did not like the apartment and we apologize for your bad experience. However, we would like to leave a few notes for future guests have better understanding: Since the apartament is located in a 50-year-old building in the historic center of Porto: We keep some antique but workable furniture which is clearly visible in the photos of our ad. It’s located are on a very busy street which is also indicated in the advertisement Due to the age of the building, we are only allowed to have Water heating cylinders due to construction law restrictions so the building does not support any other type of water heating. On the other hand the apartment is equiped with 2 large water heating cylinders which has proved to be enough even for 8 guests. The apartment has a total of 4 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 8 people. The price system is fixed per person and therefore, unfortunately we have had many situations where, fraudulently, the reservation is made for 4 persons, (when asked guests say that they want 1 room per person) and we discover that more guests have been in the apartment and did not pay for the the excess. After checking out, our cleaning teams discovers that all the beds are used and confirmed that more guests were at the apartment besides the ones who have paid. To avoid these type of “frauds”, we decided to leave in the rooms the number of mattresses corresponding to the number of guests and remaining mattresses were removed from “vacant” beds. We admit that it is not aesthetic and therefore we are going to try to change this system trying to control such irregularities in another way. Such irregularity also occurred in this stay. We have in the building several neighbors that have confirmed to us the existence of more than 4 people in the apartment. Confirming this we therefore believe and understand that the lack of mattresses was, in fact, very bothersome in such a situation. In regards of the problem of the bed boards that fell was in the meantime fixed by reinforcing them. We truly apologize for this inconvenience and thank Elizabeth for letting us know so we could resolve the issue. But in the meantime we would have also been grateful if we had been warned that the window blinds of 2 bedrooms were damaged by Elizabethm as we would have had the opportunity to repair them before the next guests check in and thus prevent them from not receiving the apartment in the best condition possible.
