Salento is still an hidden treasure to most, rarely mentioned among the main attractions of Southern Italy. But has a lot to offer to any kind of traveller. Spread the voice!

Dear Christine, I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your vacation at our place, but I'm quite frankly surprised to see that the negative notes relate to aspects or features that are not advertised in our house description on the website. The small terrace table and chairs are exactly the same you see in the pictures, the top terraces are not portrayed nor described as fully equipped or furnished for sun bathing and Galatone is not described as a fun and exciting village but as a quiet town that is an excellent starting point to explore Salento, and its tranquility is the feature all of our guests have been looking for. Parking is usually easy to find at night. I wasn't aware of the most recent changes in the parking rules nearby and of the street closures for the repaving, but the map we provide highlights plenty of options available in a three to four minutes walking distance. We do not expect to meet all guests vacation expectations. We are not tour operators, we are just the owners of a property that we built and furnished for our personal pleasure and that we like to share with other lovers of this region of Italy. We encourage our potential future guests to ask all questions before they make a reservation, so we can understand if our house is fitting their idea of vacation. Other than that, we can only work hard on providing a house that feels as comfortable and cozy as if we were personally enjoying it, and on having our trusted collaborators on site provide a very good service in terms of receptioning and cleaning. We are not here to fight with the hundreds of cheap low season options you can find in Salento on any holiday homes website, and we don't care for the travellers just looking for a great deal and could sleep in a shoe box. My point is that I think it is very unfair to give us a two-star rating because you didn't find something that wasn't even advertised. Your evaluation should be on the house as described, on its functionality, the cleaning, the hospitality service. Of course, you are very welcome to point out what you were hoping to find (the upgrade of the terraces for sunbathing is a project we have been working on in the last 12 months with very disappointing results so far, forcing us to keep them as they still are) and that Galatone is not offering the attractions of other very touristy cities as you may have wished.
