Venez vous détendre dans notre confortable maison d'hôtes de 2 chambres, entièrement meublée, située sur 10 acres au sommet de la vallée de Sequatchie, à mi-chemin entre Crossville et Pikeville. Nous sommes nichés dans les belles collines du pays de Dieu. Il y a quelque chose de très spécial dans cet espace entre les montagnes. Descendez jusqu'à la rivière Sequatchie qui traverse notre propriété et profitez de ce que la nature offre chaque saison. Par temps chaud, plongez vos pieds dans l'eau fraîche ou asseyez-vous sur une chaise et lisez un livre tout en écoutant le son relaxant de la rivière. Si vous cherchez à échapper à la vie urbaine, à une retraite personnelle ou à une escapade tranquille, nous offrons un répit paisible pour le repos et la détente. Nous sommes à côté du Justin P. MAINTENANT OUVERT Parc d'État Wilson Cumberland Trail (du jeudi au dimanche de 10h00 à 17h00 HNC) Dans le comté de Cumberland, la capitale du golf du Tennessee, se trouvent dix parcours de golf de championnat. Nous sommes à 20 minutes au sud de Crossville, TN, sur le plateau de Cumberland qui abrite le Cumberland County Playhouse, la zone historique de la propriété familiale et le parc d'État de Cumberland Mountain. Nous sommes également à une heure du magnifique parc d'État de Fall Creek Falls. Les autres chutes d'eau à proximité incluent les chutes Burgess, Cummins Falls, Ozone Falls et Rock Island State Park, entre autres. Nous sommes idéalement situés à 1h30 de Chattanooga et Knoxville. Nous sommes également à 2 heures des Great Smoky Mountains et de Nashville. Notre maison d'hôtes est isolée, calme et paisible. Selon la saison et la météo, nous pouvons offrir un feu de camp au bord de la rivière, une fosse à fer à cheval, un barbecue et une utilisation supervisée du poêle à bois. Highly recommend

My husband and I work highly stressful jobs and needed a place to relax and enjoy a beautiful atmosphere. The views were spectacular from the cottage. The special touches from Larry and Beverly were so appreciated-homemade muffins, homemade soap, and the special greeting when we arrived. They were the perfect hosts and the cottage was beyond our expectations. Thank you!

Lovely hidden gem

We really enjoyed our getaway to the tranquil cottage. The hosts were so welcoming and responsive. The house is spacious and would be great for a family or 2 couples. The kitchen was well stocked and the grounds are lively - especially the river! It's remote enough to feel like you are secluded but within 25 minutes of a good sized city (Crossville). Nearby amenities include hiking (ample), a buc-cees, Stonehaus winery and miss miller's gigantic donuts. Definitely worth it.

Everything I wanted and more!

From the moment I arrived, I was completely enchanted by the beauty of the property. Larry and Beverly’s warmth and generosity are evident in every thoughtful detail, making for an unforgettable stay. As I stepped into the cabin, a welcoming sign and the sweet surprise of homemade lemon blueberry bread set the tone for a cozy retreat. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the handmade soap in the bathroom added yet another personal touch. One of the most serene spots on the property is the swing by the creek—it’s the perfect place to unwind. My friend and I cherished our time here and only wished we could have stayed longer. Without a doubt, this will be my go-to cabin whenever I need a peaceful escape.

The property is exactly what I was looking for...away from noise and people and to be in nature. You can wake up and go for a short or long hike right from the property or explore many different options within a short drive. Larry and Beverly are super sweet and have created a slice of heaven to relax and unwind.

The Valley

We absolutely loved our stay. The location was perfect and the hosts were awesome. We were greeted by the very nice and friendly owner and the best lemon loaf that I have ever eaten. We will definitely return.

Peaceful cabin

Wonderful quaint cabin in an amazing setting. Full of flowers, hummingbirds, peaceful relaxation. Close to tons of hiking and golfing. Great place to relax and recharge with great and accommodating hosts.

The name says it all!

Hidden in the Sequatchie Valley

Beautiful Property tucked into the Sequatchie Valley the road is a little scary getting there but worth the drive. Beverly and Larry are very welcoming they even had a cute little personalized sign with our names on it welcoming us to their cabin. Beverly made a homemade bread and some soap that she makes for the guests to enjoy. If you want a place to relax and just enjoy nature, read a book, and just escape the rush of everyday living, this is the perfect place to stay. The home is very clean and has everything you need to enjoy your stay.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

We loved everything about this lovely cottage and enjoyed meeting Larry and Beverly. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed privacy and also their responsive attentiveness when we reached out. With the covered deck, this is a great place to stay no matter the weather. The cottage, the view, and the whole property are all wonderful. Thank you for the hospitality!

Beautiful, secluded cabin nestled in the Sequatchie Valley. Hosts treated us to the epitome of Tennessee hospitality and some scrumptious hummingbird muffins. Highly recommend for a quick getaway or lengthy stay. You will not be disappointed.

Perfectly located

My Dad and I stayed here for several days. The location was perfect - my Dad enjoyed the mountain view from the comfort of the recliner. We visited several places nearby and this cozy retreat was wonderful to come home to each day. Very clean and the owners were very hospitable and on hand should you need anything. Hope to stay again in the near future! Would definitely recommend.

Perfect weekend get-away!

Tranquility Cottage was the perfect place to spend a quiet weekend. The house is comfortable and very well-appointed, with some lovely little touches like artisan soap and interesting family pictures. The only sounds we heard were the Sequatchie River, the rain on the roof, and bird songs, including migrating Sand Hill Cranes. Larry and Beverly are wonderful hosts, with a deep knowledge of the history and geography of the area, and great recommendations for hiking. I look forward to staying there again!

Peaceful, Safe Scenic Getaway

This cottage is a beautiful hideaway for anyone wanting some R & R. The owners make you feel at home and Beverly surprised us with homemade pumpkin muffins. We had all the comforts of home and more. The cottage is so spacious and comfortable for a family. We felt safe and wished we could stay longer. We will definitely come back here in the warmer months to enjoy the outdoors and relax on the inviting front porch. Thank you Beverly and Steve for opening your lovely cottage to us.

God's Country

We struggle to find adequate words to describe our stay. It's clear that this is "not just a rental," this is a home that oozes with welcome and peace. It's so very quiet. The hosts are respectful of privacy, yet completely available. Clearly, it's important to them that you enjoy and appreciate your time on their property and that you are comfortable. We look forward to finding an excuse to get back!

Tennessee at its greatest. Home away from home.

The pictures don’t do it justice!!! Mountain View’s, the deer, the chickens were fabulous!! The friendliness of Bev and Larry and just the beautiful home they offer was an experience I will make sure to do again. If your looking for a quiet way to relax and see one of the experiences Tennessee has to offer in the valley this is a place to be. Thank you Larry and Beverly for making it more than I thought it could be for future home for myself in Tennessee.

The perfect getaway

We had the best time staying at the cottage. It was even better than we expected. Larry and Beverly were wonderful host. We were welcome by two smiling faces and delicious banana nut bread! We fished 3 days at Watts Bar Lake and the drive to and from was very peaceful. Arriving back to the cabin each evening was the perfect end to our day. On our last evening we even had the pleasure to watch the space station travel across the night sky next to fire that Larry started for us. We hope to make another trip to stay in the future.

The Peace of Nature

I have stayed at this cabin twice in the last 2 years and will definitely go again. The setting is beautiful; quiet valley, babbling brook, beautiful mountains. Lots of hiking near the property or head to any of several nearby state/national parks. The cabin is clean, spacious and has everything you need for a relaxing stay.(My favorite room is the front porch!) The owners are next door and are extremely gracious folks. If you are looking for some peace in a nature setting , this is your place! My next trip will include visits to some of the nearby waterfalls I've heard so much about!

The Maxwell family has lived on this property for the last 30+ years, taking it from a wild, thorn-covered property to a park-like setting. Its original owner, Larry's father, Rupert Maxwell, was a WWII P47 Thunderbolt fighter pilot and was shot down over Germany and held in a prisoner of war camp for one year. Rupert passed down many lessons including his love for the Lord, this property, and the hard work it takes to maintain it. Larry and Rupert built both houses, including the barn. Larry and Beverly are avid outdoorsman. We love to hunt and fish, hike, garden, cook, make soap, read, sit down by the river and swing on the porch. God has blessed us with this homestead and we would love to share this special place with you. Coming from a military family, Larry has lived in several places, while Beverly grew up and lived in Michigan. Together, we share 4 grown children and 7 grandchildren. We are laid back folks who love our quiet piece of the world.

What people say when they come here is that it is so beautiful and peaceful and that we are so blessed to be able to live here. The Valley is a historic place where Cherokee Indians once made their home until they were moved out on the Trail of Tears. The first Sheriff of Cumberland County is buried on the State property next door. The Sequatchie river originates out of the hillside nearby and runs through our property and makes a great place to cool ones feet on a hot day! Wildlife pays us frequent visits that include deer, turkeys, fox, coyote, bobcat, and many species of birds, etc. Beauty abounds in this space between the mountains and if you sit long enough or wander with a keen eye, you, too, can take in its wonders and escape the real world for a while.
