Venez vous détendre dans notre confortable maison d'hôtes de 2 chambres, entièrement meublée, située sur 10 acres au sommet de la vallée de Sequatchie, à mi-chemin entre Crossville et Pikeville. Nous sommes nichés dans les belles collines du pays de Dieu. Il y a quelque chose de très spécial dans cet espace entre les montagnes. Descendez jusqu'à la rivière Sequatchie qui traverse notre propriété et profitez de ce que la nature offre chaque saison. Par temps chaud, plongez vos pieds dans l'eau fraîche ou asseyez-vous sur une chaise et lisez un livre tout en écoutant le son relaxant de la rivière. Si vous cherchez à échapper à la vie urbaine, à une retraite personnelle ou à une escapade tranquille, nous offrons un répit paisible pour le repos et la détente. Nous sommes à côté du Justin P. MAINTENANT OUVERT Parc d'État Wilson Cumberland Trail (du jeudi au dimanche de 10h00 à 17h00 HNC) Dans le comté de Cumberland, la capitale du golf du Tennessee, se trouvent dix parcours de golf de championnat. Nous sommes à 20 minutes au sud de Crossville, TN, sur le plateau de Cumberland qui abrite le Cumberland County Playhouse, la zone historique de la propriété familiale et le parc d'État de Cumberland Mountain. Nous sommes également à une heure du magnifique parc d'État de Fall Creek Falls. Les autres chutes d'eau à proximité incluent les chutes Burgess, Cummins Falls, Ozone Falls et Rock Island State Park, entre autres. Nous sommes idéalement situés à 1h30 de Chattanooga et Knoxville. Nous sommes également à 2 heures des Great Smoky Mountains et de Nashville. Notre maison d'hôtes est isolée, calme et paisible. Girl’s weekend away

This was the absolute perfect place to relax and catch up. The location was beautiful and so peaceful. A wonderful getaway for us. The special treats and personal touches by the Maxwells were deeply appreciated.

Perfection

The property is exactly what I was looking for...away from noise and people and to be in nature. You can wake up and go for a short or long hike right from the property or explore many different options within a short drive. Larry and Beverly are super sweet and have created a slice of heaven to relax and unwind.

Hidden in the Sequatchie Valley

Beautiful Property tucked into the Sequatchie Valley the road is a little scary getting there but worth the drive. Beverly and Larry are very welcoming they even had a cute little personalized sign with our names on it welcoming us to their cabin. Beverly made a homemade bread and some soap that she makes for the guests to enjoy. If you want a place to relax and just enjoy nature, read a book, and just escape the rush of everyday living, this is the perfect place to stay. The home is very clean and has everything you need to enjoy your stay.

Peaceful Valley Getaway

We found the trek down the hillside into Sequatchie Valley most scenic. As we rounded the driveway leading down into the large opening at the base of the hill, the first glimpse is breathtaking. We felt we were staying in Cades Cove over in the Smoky Mountain National Park. The managers met us upon arrival, were very courteous and helpful for notable attractions, etc. We loved the free roaming chickens feel we made friends with the hens Sister Buffy, and Goldie, and of course the large Rhode Island Red Rooster “Mr. Roo”. The cabin/cottage is very clean, very comfortable, and has anything you may need and want while taking a vacation, break, or getaway. I really liked the open floor plan of the living/dining/and kitchen making it very cozy and easy to relax. — The morning walks or late afternoon strolls down by the Sequatchie River stream/creek was very nice and soothing. The timber swing facing the creek is nice for contemplation and meditation. I saw on a couple trees attachements for hammocks which would’ve been nice underneath the shade of the extremely hot July weather while we were there. — We also liked how close it was to the Justin Wilson State Park & Trails. If you live to explore, hike, take walks in the country, or just sit on the covered front porch and listen the whipper-wills at night, this place will not disappoint. — We will surely be back again, and feel we found a diamond in the rough. Thanks again to Larry & Beverly, you have a lovely VRBO.

God's Country

We struggle to find adequate words to describe our stay. It's clear that this is "not just a rental," this is a home that oozes with welcome and peace. It's so very quiet. The hosts are respectful of privacy, yet completely available. Clearly, it's important to them that you enjoy and appreciate your time on their property and that you are comfortable. We look forward to finding an excuse to get back!

We were pleasantly surprised how beautiful it was at the cabin in the Valley. Larry and Beverly were the perfect hosts . We felt alot of privacy and loved the porch and view from there. The swing by the little river was great. We did a lot of hiking trails but our favorites were Ozone falls which was 45 min away and Fall Creek falls about 1 hr away. We loved eating brisket nachos outside at the Creekside Brewery . The kitchen in the cabin has everything you need to cook if you want to but would suggest bringing your food . We don't stay many places that I want to return to but this one is one of them. Hope to visit again next year. If you stay there check out Beverly's soap she makes. They are great and I bought some to bring home to friends.

Great hidden gem

What an absolute wonderful cabin. I wish we were there for more than the weekend. Everything was perfect. Very clean, the beds are very comfortable. The hosts really made us feel welcome. Larry stayed up till we got there, stuck in heavy traffic so we arrived hours later than we had hoped. Definitely a hidden gem and we will be staying there again.

Breathtaking

Larry & Beverly are wonderful hosts. We are so happy they are able to share a little slice of Heaven with us. The peace and quiet was just what we all needed. There was even a special sign made & homemade muffins {which were delicious} just for us that made us feel welcome. The view & the mountain air is breathtaking. The little cabin has everything you need for your daily accommodations & very clean. The beds were more than comfortable & we were well rested. They even had games that we enjoyed staying up late to play. The drive into Crossville is only like 10 miles. Which was very important to us. We will definitely be back if they will have us. Thanks Larry & Beverly you are truly amazing hosts. We loved it.

Peace in the Valley

If you need time alone to meditate and talk to our lord,want to be historically rejuvenated, just prepare to meet "rupert". and if you are searching for a reconnection with god's natural paintings of all things beautiful , i promise , you will not be disappointed. beverly and larry are wonderful . and unselfish.They have truly invested a great deal of thought and time to ensure your every need is addressed. They have made it possible for you to enjoy, at their expense, the small things you may have forgotten;examples like steak seasoning , tin foil,and even "evoo!" Now,for the kicker- Beverly has a warm welcome board with your names on it . AND --- she makes you homemade cake so you have a snack before you unpack.Scrumptious!! Now, i ask,why would you want to visit or rent anywhere but, Tranquility Cottage,in the valley,with the best host and hostess ,BEVERLY and LARRY ? Check all of this out. You will experience ,Peace in the valley.

Tranquil Cottage

We have been to Tennessee six times, and this was the BEST place we have stayed at. We are from a Florida City and the drive to the cottage was a great experience. Beautiful scenery and scary at the same time. By the end of the week, we felt like mountaineers. The cottage was perfectly clean and well stocked. Larry & Beverly had a warm fire going for us and Larry gave us his cell phone number so we could call whenever we needed anything. That was so comforting knowing we had good/caring neighbors to answer any questions we had. The cottage has a lot of interesting history that Larry shared with us. Beverly is an awesome cook and treated us to cake and cookies on our arrival and departure. It was a White Christmas with snow! Lots of birds and wildlife. Can't wait to become neighbors when we build in Monterey. We will definitely be staying here again! Sue & Nick

Relaxing and wonderful place to unwind

If you are looking for a place to get away and relax - this is it!!! Such a beautiful location and cozy cottage. We got to see the deer play in the yard, hike to the cave near by, relax by the river and enjoy the cottage. The cottage is decorated so nicely, well stocked so we were able to enjoy cooking our meals during the visit, relax in the living room area, sleep comfortably and sit on the front porch to enjoy the wildlife. Thank you Larry and Beverly for being wonderful hosts - you are gracious and kind. We truly enjoyed the bonfire, spending time talking about the history of the area, hiking to the cave and so much more. You have a gift to spoil your guests - thank you for the wonderful loaf of Cranberry Orange bread and the homemade soap. We really enjoyed our time at your beautiful cottage. We also had the opportunity to hike many trails and see waterfalls/overlooks at the state parks, state forests and other areas nearby! It was beautiful in the fall to see the land surrounding your place.

Beautiful, secluded cabin nestled in the Sequatchie Valley. Hosts treated us to the epitome of Tennessee hospitality and some scrumptious hummingbird muffins. Highly recommend for a quick getaway or lengthy stay. You will not be disappointed.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

We loved everything about this lovely cottage and enjoyed meeting Larry and Beverly. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed privacy and also their responsive attentiveness when we reached out. With the covered deck, this is a great place to stay no matter the weather. The cottage, the view, and the whole property are all wonderful. Thank you for the hospitality!

Wonderful Tennessee Cabin

The cabin is located in a beautiful, private valley. Great location to go do anything you want to do in Tennessee. Lots of great things to do within a short drive. Larry and Beverly are great host. Very helpful. We had a great time.

Golf trip

The property is secluded and absolutely beautiful. The only sounds were the river and birds. Our hostess was very kind and made us feel right at home. She even left fresh banana nut bread on the kitchen counter prior to our arrival! We will definitely visit again.

Refreshed and Renewed

We had a wonderful experience at Tranquility Cottage. A cozy cottage that is in a serene setting. Immaculate, comfortable, spacious and hosted by a kind and caring couple. Larry and Beverly made us feel absolutely at home. They totally respected our privacy yet were open for any conversation we desired. Our walk to the creek side was beautiful and a true experience with God’s handiwork. Our only issue was that we couldn’t convince Larry and Beverly to sell us their beautiful cottage!

Weekend Getaway

We were very impressed with the property and also with the host and hostess. The property is away from the hustle and bustle with room to walk or hike. Nature abounds. Although there is no cellular reception, WiFi is available. The kitchen was well equipped. There were movie watching options if you desire. There are recreation options not too far away. We have added this cabin to our list of getaway places. We highly recommend this location and will definitely return.

The Maxwell family has lived on this property for the last 30+ years, taking it from a wild, thorn-covered property to a park-like setting. Its original owner, Larry's father, Rupert Maxwell, was a WWII P47 Thunderbolt fighter pilot and was shot down over Germany and held in a prisoner of war camp for one year. Rupert passed down many lessons including his love for the Lord, this property, and the hard work it takes to maintain it. Larry and Rupert built both houses, including the barn. Larry and Beverly are avid outdoorsman. We love to hunt and fish, hike, garden, cook, make soap, read, sit down by the river and swing on the porch. God has blessed us with this homestead and we would love to share this special place with you. Coming from a military family, Larry has lived in several places, while Beverly grew up and lived in Michigan. Together, we share 4 grown children and 7 grandchildren. We are laid back folks who love our quiet piece of the world.

What people say when they come here is that it is so beautiful and peaceful and that we are so blessed to be able to live here. The Valley is a historic place where Cherokee Indians once made their home until they were moved out on the Trail of Tears. The first Sheriff of Cumberland County is buried on the State property next door. The Sequatchie river originates out of the hillside nearby and runs through our property and makes a great place to cool ones feet on a hot day! Wildlife pays us frequent visits that include deer, turkeys, fox, coyote, bobcat, and many species of birds, etc. Beauty abounds in this space between the mountains and if you sit long enough or wander with a keen eye, you, too, can take in its wonders and escape the real world for a while.
