Studio apartments at Garden City, Costa Adeje heated pool close the sandy beach

Pleased you had a good stay - the main pool is heated and I checked and it is running at 28 degrees centigrade. The smaller pool to the rear of the complex is not heated.

Pleased you had a good stay. The beds were only replaced about 6 weeks ago but beds never suit everyone which is clear as you said your bed was comfy but your wife did not like hers and these are exactly the same new beds. If the fan was not working properly you should have contacted Ann so she could replace. People book these apartments again and again as offer excellent value for money.

I am suprised by your review - the apartments are very popular holiday apartments. But by your review it would suggest you were working. These are not apartments in a business hotel - there is no desk and chair to work on. There is a sofa to sit on and also stools at the breakfast bar and of course the patio table and chairs outside. There is a single built in wardrobe plus a cupboard with shelves and a drawer unit for clothes - more than most hotel rooms. There is free WiFi around by the pool as stated in my details. We always take a dongle or tether our phone if we wish to use a lot while there. Again this is not a hotel but self catering apartments towels and linen are only changed at the end of the week for bookings of 2 weeks or more. These are 3 star holiday apartments and not a 4 star business hotel which is sounds you were looking for.

I am not sure what you felt needed some tlc - the property is regularly decorated. I noted the towel rail was broken but this could have easily been replaced while you were there - it has now been replaced. We regularly change the keys to the door for safety and there is a key box outside the front door so ideal for guests to leave the key there when they go out for safety as keys are easily mislaid on beach etc. There is free WiFi around by the pool. These poolside apartments are very popular and guests return again and again. I think probably your poor review is more to do with the unsually bad weather and rain you had during your stay, which is of course out of our control. If there were any issues in the apartment you only had to contact us during our stay and they could have been rectified. I did actually see you on your last day and you did not mention any problem with the apartment and when I asked if you had a nice time and whether everything was ok - you just said you had horrible weather.

I am sorry to hear you feel you have cause to make negative comments. You contacted Janet (the person who looks after the apartment for me) on your arrival to inform her that the fridge was not working properly and she sorted this out for your promptly. There should have been enough crockery for 3 people but you did not mention any other problems to Janet. I would like to point out that you only booked and paid for 2 people and did not pay for a third person for the 2 weeks - which might be why you failed to mention this to Janet! Fans are rarely required in Tenerife and you did ask about these in advance and I informed you of this and told you that if necessary a fan could be hired from reception which you did not do. There is a tiled area behind the bath where you can place shampoo bottles etc and no one else has ever commented on this. The apartments by the pool are the most popular on the complex and are rarely noisy but you did go in peak summer holidays when there would have been many children around by the pool. As you had contacted Janet to tell her about the fridge (which was promptly sorted) I am not sure why you did not mention that you felt there was a lack of crockery and cutlery or Janet could have supplied you with some more. As you say the apartment is in a lovely position and recently had a new kitchen and bathroom and offers excellent value for money. I do wish you had mentioned any other concerns while you were there rather than wait until nearly 4 weeks after your return home. As you can see from the review below this one someone else who stayed in the same exact apartment left a really good review.

You did not stay in the studio apartment but upgraded to a one bedroomed apartment. You did contact me the day after you arrived to say you needed a fan and Anne who looks after the apartment for me went to see you with the fan and you made not mention of any problems. Anne is a local contact in case of any problems but you failed to contact her again. Halfway through the stay you wanted to move out to go and stay with your gran and asked for a refund! This apartment rents out very often and the people who stayed before you have already booked again

I do wish you had contacted me during your stay if you had any problems with bedding or cleaning. This could have been rectified during your stay. I am pleased to report that the cleaners have​ been changed and also towels and bath mat etc is​ now supplied.

Pleased to hear you had a good stay. Fans are rarely needed but everyone is different and fans can easily be hired from reception at a reasonable cost. The apartments are proving more and more popluar with guests rebooking. If air conditioning was installed this would put the price up quite a bit as very expensive to run. But as I said most guests do not need it and fans can be hired if required.

Firstly, you did not book or stay in one of my studio apartments. You were in a one bedroomed apartment. As you correctly said these are reasonably priced apartments and not luxury. I have spoken to the cleaner who cleaned on the day you should have departed and they say the apartment looks as if you stayed there more than one night. Fans are rarely needed but if it was too hot fans can be easily hired from reception. At this stage in my response I would also like to say the guests who stayed just before you arrived have already booked again - which they would not have done if the apartment was not suitable. You booked the apartment a week and then a few days before your arrival you contacted me to confirm there was a double bed in the bedroom. I said as per my advert the apartments have two single beds. You then said you wanted to cancel the booking because you presumed there was a double bed. I said cancellation was not possible at that late stage. Plus not having a double bed, especially where the advert clearly states two single beds, was no cause to cancel. This is a private self catering apartment and not a hotel. I said I could try and relet and refund you, but as it was just a few days before the holiday I could not guarantee this. You then tried to get your money back via PayPal and they refused saying you had no reason for a refund. You made no contact with the person in resort to say you had any problems in the apartment - so I have to doubt anything you have claimed.. Especially as you threatened me with a nasty review before you even arrived. Since your booking I have had several other bookings - all of which had positive stays and 2 people have booked to stay again. They would not do this is the apartments were unsuitable. No doubt any sensible minded person will see through your review for what it is.

Firstly, you enquired for a one bedroomed apartment and I said I didn't have one available but I did have a studio but this was a lot smaller than a one bedroomed apartment. You agreed to take the studio instead. When you arrived and gained entry to the apartment earlier than usually allowed so the apartment had not been checked. You did not like the apartment but rather than contact me or Janet (who looks after the apartments to say anything was wrong) you decided to go off and find something else. You did not contact me until the next morning to say you were not staying. When I asked why you didn't contact me before - you said you would have stayed if you couldn't find any thing better - but you had found something really nice and even though it was over 3 times the price of my apartment you decided to move as you originally wanted a larger apartment. But you had accepted the studio when I had told you the one bedroomed apartment you origially wanted was not available. You then made excuses as to why you should have a refund. As you paid through PayPal you contacted them and they researched the case and decided that as you had 'just changed your mind' you did not have a case to have your money back. It is also interesting to see that a guest who stayed a week or so after you has left a very positive review for the same apartment and has already rebooked again. My apartments would not rebook again and again if they were not suitable. They are not luxury and I do not advertise them as such and I think you were expecting 5 star accommodation. Since your stay I have visited the apartment myself to check everything was okay.
