Fully equipped self catering ground floor modern apartment on award winning holiday village, open all year round. The Bay is near the traditional seaside town of Filey between Scarborough and Bridlington. It is a great location to explore the North Yorkshire coast, moors and the wolds or a short walk to the award winning Filey Beach. Great for walkers at as the start or finish of the Cleveland Way, Bird watch at Bempton, historic city of York for shopping and site seeing an hours scenic drive. Great all round place for most people to do most things.

The dog friendly apartment is located on Sunrise Drive, near to all the onsite amenities which include the outside table tennis in the court yard, archery, tennis court, basket ball court, boules court, playground, the John Paul Jones dog friendly pub which provides entertainment during school holidays, Bayside Kitchen dog friendly cafe, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, fitness suite, small amusement arcade and football pitch, The pharmacy which has basic groceries. The Bay has a pedestrian path to the beach.

The Bay offers a range of activities which can be booked at the leisure center for an extra fee such as archery, rifle shooting, inflatable pool session, geo caching, beauty treatments and crafting sessions.

The modern ground floor apartment offers free unlimited WiFi to stream your own TV accounts, work from the apartment and keep in touch with family and friends if you want to.

The open living space has TV and DVD, settee and dining area.

The kitchen area is fully equipment to make your holiday easy even if you eat at home with a dishwasher, washer, full size oven, hob and combination microwave.

The bedroom has a double bed with plenty of storage for all your holiday clothes, your towels and bed linens are provided. Gas central heating which is controlled in the bedroom.

The bathroom has a full bathroom suite with a shower over the bath.

Communal gardens with seating areas are situated all around The Bay and the parking is free.

Perfect base for exploring

We loved the apartment. Really clean, everything you need for a comfortable base for exploring the area. Nice food at the pub too. Great comms from the owner, who left a lovely welcome note for us. Highly recommended.

Great location

Property was as described and ticked all the boxes. Found initially a little difficult to find - but once there all was ok - keys in lock box and easy access. The accomodation left for nothing, 10 minute walk to the beach and easy access to Scarborough and Bridlington among others. Great for a short break

Homely 'little' place in a Great Location

The property is super clean and equipped with everything you could need. Although on the small side it had everything we wanted/needed and we would definitely visit again. We stayed for 4 nights and that was long enough as it is on the small side so lounging around all day isn't ideal at this property but given the area/location why anyone would want to do that is beyond me anyway. In terms of location within the actual site it couldn't have been more conveniently placed - literally a minute walk from the Gym/Pool/Tennis Courts and another minute or two and there was the John Paul Jones Pub and onsite Shop/Pharmacy. For the price we paid during the School Summer holidays we really weren't being ripped off like some do. We needed to contact the owner (Lucy) on one occasion re: the wifi connection and she answered straight away and explained where we were going wrong. She also messaged again to make sure nothing else was a problem and she couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks again Lucy and we would definitely recommend a stay at this property for anyone looking for a week or few days away with a 'small' family.

Lovely property

Lovely property on a very well kept holiday village. Close to Filey and Scarborough. Used the park and ride to get into Scarborough, well worth it. Visited Playdale Farm which was very good. Wear suitable footwear as very muddy.

Very comfortable stay..

Simply furnished but everything we needed.Fittings very nice.Bed a tad small for my hubby but we managed.Host very accommodating when we rang up to clarify WiFi connection.Thank you Lucy.Suggest a paper copy of all instructions for appliances etc.At 78 I am a a bit technological but not as accessible online.Overall a very pleasant experience.Thank you.

Lovely Apartment

I have drove past The Bay at Filey a few times but always thought it was out of my price range but I was pleasantly surprised by the apartment & facilities on site The apartment was lovely and clean and had everything you could want for a stay away from home - fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. The heating came in handy as it was very cold outside but it became stiflingly hot as I didn’t know how to alter the temperature The leisure centre, pharmacy, cafe and pub were a couple of minutes walk away - use of swimming pool was included in the price but you need to book. We went to the pub on Saturday evening and although it was busy we got a table straight away and the food and drinks were an affordable price We were unable to find the apartment as it was a bit of a maze with a mixture of houses and apartments but I rang the owner & she gave me directions and stayed on the phone until we’d found it. It was dark so I would recommend to find your accommodation when it is light This would be the ideal place to go during the summer as it had access to the beach but unfortunately it snowed quite heavily but we were happy to stay indoors as the apartment had everything you could want including WIFI

Summer break

Overall a lovely site, with a short walk to possibly the best stretch of beach on the Yorkshire coast. Our ground floor apartment was bright, airy and contained everything we needed. If I was ultra picky I would say it would have been nice to have direct access to an outside area from the property .

We really enjoyed our stay! Perfect location, near to the Bayside Kitchen (amazing breakfast and cakes!) and close to the beach to walk our dogs and enjoy some fresh air! Great apartment, clean and welcoming and its everything you need for a stay away from home.

In 2016 we started with Filey Bay Cove, followed later that year with Yorkshire Coast Retreat, 2019 came East Coast Escape and now 2020 Filey Bay Haven.
We used the time during March 2020 to July 4th 2020 to revamp and re-decorate all the apartments. Our regular visitors will tell you that things are always being moved and updated.
As the reviews show we have always maintained a sparkling clean badge and this is even more important now, with the sanitiser station inside the doors, removal of bed throws, games, some ornaments and cushions. TV remotes in little bags, washing duvets and pillows.
As Kermit the Frog said “Its not easy being green”. We try to line dry all our washing, in Scarborough you don’t only have to watch for rain but the wind - Duvet covers can be out to sea if not pegged on securely and then we have seagull poop!! We have managed to source and moving to recycled duvet and pillows that wash easily and hopefully don’t fly away in the wind.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

I love being at The Bay which is on the site of the former Butlins at Filey, I think I must have been a Red Coat in a previous life and I’m now like Peggy the Covid cleaner chalet maid. We live 15 mins away so we are on hand to help with any unforeseen issues that may occur during your stay.
Madge and Blondie our Tibetan Terriers/Terrors love Filey Beach and town as lots of places are dog friendly and they do like a run on the beach, spot of shopping followed by tea and cake, followed by Fish and Chips, followed by a pint and a packet of crisps.

The Bay at Filey is a unique holiday destination and is available all year round for people to come and stay and get some sea air. The best way to appreciate what The Bay has to offer is to come and stay with us from as little as a 2 night stay. Most of our guests who come to The Bay definitely return for another visit at one of our properties.
