We stayed at Spring Lodge for our nieceâs wedding at Wonderlust Acres. The house was great, the porch was awesome and Pat and Rich were fabulous. When I called them to let them know we had gotten in early and was wondering if we could get an early check in they did not hesitate to accommodate my request. My only complaint isâŠour stay was not long enough.
Beautiful property but just far from most attractions
the property is very nice and spacious. but unfortunately far from most attractions. Due to the hurricane damage Blue Ridge was closed off and most driving distances are 40 minutes plus. The other downfall was the trash situation. We were unaware that would have to dispose of the trash away from the house to the nearest landfill. Fortunately you have the option of the cleaning staff taking it for you at a Fee cost.
100% would recommend this VRBO! Clean, Cozy and Comfortable. It was perfect to host Thanksgiving.
Just as advertised and met all our needs! .
The Host communicated well and was a kind and gracious Host.
We needed a place to stay that was close to Sky Retreat, where our daughter was getting married. Spring Lodge fit the bill perfectly! Richard gave us great directions, so that we were at Sky Retreat in 8 minutes. The house was warm and cozy, with a fantastic kitchen! The driveway is a bit tricky to get in and out of, wish it were more flat. And it would have been nice to have use of the garage, as weather was very rainy when we arrived. But overall a very nice property with lovely owners. Richard and Pat responded to my questions right away which was terrific.
It is a good location for Sky Retreat, and only 25 minutes from Boone. My only regret was that we really didnât get to spend any time there, as we were at the venue most of the time. We would love to return during the fall!
Was great to get a mountain getaway with the family. This property gave us a secluded location, but close to the places we wanted to be. The hosts were great and kept great communication during our stay. The experience exceeded our expectations.
We made a quick trip to West Jefferson to help my daddy with some property he was setting up for a permanent RV. The Spring Lodge was a beautiful gem for us to rest and relax each night for more work! Everything at the house was spectacular! Love the open layout - just wish we had of had more time to rest and enjoy the tranquility of the space. Rich & Pat were the greatest!
This house was perfect for my families trip to my nieces wedding. House had plenty of room and relaxing. The rocking chairs on front porch was a great start to our day, relaxing and enjoying the view.
We really enjoyed our short stay in this beautiful spot. We were with good friends, and we remarked over and over about what a special, comfortable place this was.
Our hosts were very attentive, and we were so sad our trip was cut short by us leaving quite early the last morning, because we missed their offered homemade chocolate croissants â€ïž
Do yourself a favor, and book this incredible Spring Lodge.
This home was everything advertised and more! I have used VRBO numerous times, and this was by far the nicest home I have ever stayed in! Fully stocked from kitchen to baths to bedrooms. Comfortable in every sense. And communication with the owner was effortless.
If you are looking for a comfy home in the mountains, you need to look no further!
Beautiful home and location. More space than the pictures do justice. A bit off the beaten path, while also close to great towns like Boone and West Jefferson. Already thinking about coming back in the summer to see the gardens in full bloom.
I cannot say enough about this home!
If youâre looking for an off the beaten path, diamond in the rough, mountain home this is definitely your place! The home is very spacious and welcoming, and the surroundings are breathtaking! Iâd highly recommend!!
the house is very clean and decorated tastefully. it is fully renovated and beautiful. kitchen is huge, amply furnished and makes cooking easy.
owners very responsive and close by if needed.
off the beaten path, up the mountain. so quiet and peaceful. very enjoyable trip with our friends.
We stayed here to attend a wedding at the nearby (10-15min) Sky Retreat. The location worked great for us and we enjoyed exploring the creek nearby. The owners provided lots of information like driving directions, and area attractions/food. We didn't have a ton of spare time due to wedding commitments, but I think it would be a good balance of relaxation and things to do for all ages. You'll need to be (or get!) comfortable driving on narrow, winding mountain roads.
The home was equipped with all kitchen amenities we could have needed, towels for each guest, wifi and fire tv.
Note as the listing states, you do need to dispose of your own trash (not sure if it was just because we were 3+ nights, or if everyone must). The drop-off sites were all 15-20 minutes away, and we found the one we went to was closed on Sunday. Just something to be aware of.
Our family enjoyed our short vacation at Spring Lodge. The property is beautiful and the house is very spacious and clean. We appreciated the hospitality of Rich and Pat. đ
The place was beautiful but more difficult to get to than expected. But, I live in Sw Florida where everything is flat so, anything beyond that seemed extreme. Would recommend some stepping stones to get to the front entry where the code box is. There had been a lot of rain so the path was quite soggy. Overall, we had a nice stay.
This home was located in the mountains in a very nice, private, quiet setting. The front porch is expansive and invites you to sit for coffee each morning. The owners were very helpful with any requests.
My husband and I loved the Spring Lodge! Very clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, relaxing front porch - what more could you ask for! The woods around the cabin were so pretty and peaceful. Rich and Pat were great to deal with. We want to bring the family back when we can.
Great place to stay for App State Graduation weekend!
We really enjoyed our stay. House was perfect for graduation weekend. Enjoyed the natural setting and the sound of the creek on the property. House was perfect for our needs. Loved it!

We love the quiet beauty of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the NC Mountains. This home is located on 4 private acres with a rushing stream on the property. This is a special place and we wanted to make sure that this 20 year house was preserved and properly restored to reflect the charm of the life that we enjoy here in North Carolina
Nature abounds - Ashe County, NC is a special place; small, yet vibrant with great hiking trails , coupled with upscale art galleries, restaurants and interesting people. It is a special part of the North Carolina Mountains and is a rewarding area for visitors to explore.
