Durango, au Colorado dĂ©tient la beautĂ© d'un monde disparu. Il est l'endroit le plus tranquille mĂ©langĂ© avec l'histoire, les loisirs, et des souvenirs ineffaçables. Notre 2600+ maison carrĂ©e pied personnalisĂ© est nichĂ© dans les montagnes surplombant le magnifique lac Purgatoire. L'Ă©clat de l'ingĂ©nieur et Spud Montagne peut ĂȘtre vu dans le Nord et Ă  l'Est de la riviĂšre Animas qui traverse les montagnes La Plata.

La maison a Ă©tĂ© crĂ©Ă© par les mains d'un maĂźtre avec chaque fenĂȘtre crĂ©er un nouveau complexe vue sur le lac. Portes gĂ©antes vous mĂšnent sur une terrasse oĂč vous trouverez un bain Ă  remous que vous pouvez dĂ©tendre aprĂšs vos activitĂ©s quotidiennes. La nuit, le ciel est si noir, vous vous sentirez comme vous ĂȘtes assis sous un parapluie d'Ă©toiles. La nuit est si paisible que vous pouvez entendre le poisson dans l'eau. Vous serez situĂ© Ă  une altitude de 9000 pieds quelque part dans le voisinage des dieux. L'intĂ©rieur est trĂšs confortable avec tous les Ă©quipements de luxe qui vous reconnecter au monde rĂ©el. Our stay at this property was outstanding! The hosts were amazing and Joe went above and beyond to help us get settled and answer every question that we had. We came in after dark the first night and our Maps app was having difficulty locating the house based on the address (it directed us to the beginning of the property line, rather than to where the actual house is situated). Joe contacted us immediately and kindly talked us through clear directions to the house, entry procedures, and everything we needed to know to get settled quickly. The house was such a great setup for our family. My kids really enjoyed the loft area and found the pull out sofa to be far more comfortable than expected (since the ones found in hotels are never the coveted bed choice). We had everything we needed during our stay--plenty of towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, etc. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware too. The fireplace provided such a cozy ambiance for the cabin, and the heated floors in the bathrooms were a fabulous bonus too!We skied at Purgatory during our stay and it was great being located so close to the resort. It took only a few minutes from leaving the house to parking at the resort. Just as the listing photos indicate, the views from the VRBO are just breathtaking! We are very much looking forward to returning to this property again, during both the summer and winter months. Thanks again for everything Joe and Marcia!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the "lodge"! The hosts and caretaker were very welcoming and helpful. The log home is absolutely beautiful, and it provided everything we needed to enjoy a wonderful vacation with our family. The large kitchen was a big plus... We had enough room for everyone to help with the cooking! We enjoyed fishing on the lake, dips in the hot tub and taking walks that provided amazing views! We definitely recommend this house and hope to come back next year.

This is an excellent location to access activity in the area and the house has everything you need. There’s plenty of room to relax and boats to enjoy the lake. It’s a great place to stay and the host and caretaker are extremely helpful and friendly.

We utilized this mountain home in the summer to be close to some of the San Juan mountain bike trails and nice and cool temps, away from the warmer weather and business of Durango. The home was quite accommodating four our group of four. A large kitchen with an incredible view of the lake convinced us to eat most of our meals in. Also, we were delighted to find a couple of fun restaurants nearby, as well as a convenience store to refresh some supplies. In the evenings we often sat on the deck or relaxed in the comfort of the hot tub. The home was clean and spacious, and the owners were in contact with us to make sure everything was great, and it was! A delightful stay that went by all too fast.

What a wonderful house right on the lake to enjoy either during the summer or the winter. Highly recommend this place. The place was so well kept and stocked with everything you could possibly think of.

Spring Break Stay

We loved our stay at this cabin! Lots of room to spread out and very close to Purgatory for skiing. This was our second stay here, and I’m a little sad that it is already fully booked in July or we would come back this summer. Thank you for another fantastic stay!

Our family had the best time

Second Stay

This was our second stay at this beautiful home. We had such a blast playing in the snow and enjoying the views. The house is stocked with everything including extra blankets, pillows, towels, soap in the bathrooms, and fans. The kitchen has more than enough pans, utensils, and dishes. We’ve been to lots of vacation houses and this one continues to sit at the top of our list. Not to mention the host and caretaker are very easy to communicate with. We hope to be back for a third time!

Perfect Ski Lodge

There was a surplus of dishes, towels, and linens for our 3 family group! The property manager was helpful and available with any questions we had. He was willing to come over to help if needed. The house was clean, plenty big and the perfect location to get some time on the mountain without a long drive up & back. It was super convenient being 5 minutes from the parking lot & made it easy when we had people wanting to go back early. The view was awesome, can’t wait to come back during the summer sometime and see the view without all the snow!

Great property for Family Turkey Day !!!!

We were in town visiting our daughter who lives in a small house and needed some extra room for the family and friends. The house was well stocked with everything we need to cook our Turkey dinner. The views and location of the property was amazing. We skied at Purg and did Apres at The Nugget which is so close to the house. The beds were very comfy and the wood burning furnace was very efficient. The hot tub was also relaxing after skiing and hikes in the area. The best part was the amazing views of the lake during morning coffee. We are for sure staying here next time we are in need. We highly recommend you stay here. Can't wait to stay during the summer or spring...

Great Thanksgiving week vacation

We stayed at this property just before Thanksgiving. We had a fantastic time. Very spacious home with all the amenities our family needed. Big kitchen with everything we needed to cook our meals. Caretaker Michael was very responsive and helpful. He did a fantastic job decorating the home for Christmas! Location was very private and beautiful. The hot tub was wonderful.

Sibling Reunion

Very enjoyable. Fishing was great. Loved the peddle boats. There are no kayaks which was a bummer since it was listed on the site. We left ours at home. Saw a lot of wildlife. With having all the siblings there, we celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary. The Purgatory Lodge will not be forgotten!!! Thank you so much

Perfect Family Vacation Home

It’s always hard to leave this beautiful home. It’s our 6th stay in this wonderful location. There is no better place to vacation for our family and friends. The wildlife, lake, views are all unbelievable. There are lots of things to do of course but also just “staying in” provides a lot of interesting things to do and see - fishing in the lake right outside the house, birding, canoeing, grilling and soaking in the hot tub! We can’t wait for our next stay. We have been here in June, July and August and although all have different weather and temps all these times have been great for any activities. Our favorites besides staying in are the Spud Lake Trail, Hermosa Creek fishing, DSNGR ride and Cascade Creek fishing right up the road. Thanks to Marcia, Joe and Mike for excellent hospitality and seamless check in and out - and also caring for the environment here in so many ways

Another Amazing Stay

This was our 4th time staying at The Purgatory Lodge. Mike was super responsive and easy to deal with. The property is well maintained and clean. We really enjoyed using the paddle boats to fish and explore the beautiful lake. Spa on deck with amazing lake views was really nice to relax in after a day of hiking or fishing. Kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. We definitely will be back in the future. What a special place to relax and enjoy nature.

Perfect summer vacation spot

We had a wonderful vacation here. The location is perfect - it’s nice and quiet, and the lake is beautiful. It’s easy to visit Durango, Silverton, and Ouray from this spot. The house is comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed fishing in the lake, and sightseeing around the area. We will definitely be back next year!

Amazing mountain lake home

This is an amazing getaway home, the private community lake is beautiful, and stocked with many trout to fish for, and multiple watercraft to get you out there. The whole renting process, communication and well, just about anything you need, is simplified due to the lengths that the owners Joe and Marcia go to make you visit great, then you have Mike the caretaker, that handles just about anything while you're visting. And his professionalism, coincides with the owners lengths.The kitchen is unbelievably stocked with pots, pans, and dinner sets for multiple people, and this is one of the few places, you'll ever find well stocked spices and such for you to use. Amazing is barely expressive enough to say, so go visit this home and find out the treasures. My wife and I, will surely visit again. Thanks so much for allowing us to experience the property.
