The cottage was perfect for our group. We were close to our extended family who has cottages in the area. The space was great, we loved having a card table plus a table to do puzzles on. The only downside was the internet, not very reliable.
The cabin was adorable and we enjoyed our week stay overall. One thing I would mention is the smell of the well water which was not in the description of the cabin. I think the well can be treated so there isnât a sulfur smell to it. I also was told to bring drinking water which was not on the description either. Thereâs no dishwasher which is also a downside. The garage was equipped with several chairs and beach toys, the mattresses were comfortable and there was plenty of seating spaces with two couches and two dining tables in addition to a patio table and couch. The lake water is shallow which is good with little kids and we brought our kayaks which was nice. However, we couldnât have friends over since the host prohibits any events or more than 6 people in the house. I suggest bringing a clothesline to hang towels and bathing suits in the garage. I also had a hard time with the 10 am checkout and we ended up being late since we have to wash the dishes, strip the bedding and take out the trash. Another point is that they only allow Friday-Friday rentals and we would have liked to stay longer. Overall I liked the cabin but wanted to point out those things so that other people are not caught by surprise like I did. Itâs close to Caseville and only a 15 minute drive to Port Austin which was nice and we experienced both towns. Jennifer was really nice and was very responsive any time I needed something.
The cottage is very comfortable, clean, quiet and exactly as pictured. Enjoyed the deck and beach. Also appreciated the central air conditioning as a few of the nights were muggy and hot. This is our second year staying here for a week and hope to return again next year.
Very easy to rent this location. The only thing I would recommend would be an exhaust fan to help with the steam plus we were told the water is very hard so we brought our own drinking water. Loved the location and the house
I loved my stay. Right on the beach. Amazing sunsets, barbecued, swan, fires on the beach, umbrellas to provide shade everything I needed.
Close to Caseville. Enjoyed Lemontree for coffee, donuts, muffins and internet (internet in the cottage was spotty). Plan to book again!
Cute place in a good location and responsive owners
Overall, the property is a great place to stay for a small group. The bathroom is good-sized for a cabin, the kitchen has everything you need, and there are three bedrooms. You're steps from the beach and a very short drive into Caseville. We had a few issues during our stay and the owners were very responsive to address them.
There are a few things that were not what I expected. The water has a very strong sulfur smell. We didn't even brush our teeth in it and the washer has a warning that the water might stain clothing. You can refill water jugs cheaply at the Caseville family market and I recommend stocking up. It's worse than other cottages I've stayed in there.
The internet is very slow. While there is some controversy over whether or not cottages should even have internet (my family has been arguing about it for decades), when it's advertised with internet I'd expect more than 3 to 4 MB. I knew I had a paper due and needed internet access, which is one reason I picked this property. Tethering to my husband's 5G phone (AT&T has good reception there, Google Fi does not) was faster. If you have to hop on a work conference call or your kids like to stream TikTok, it's not going to work for you. Consider bringing a wifi hotspot with you.
The biggest issue was the beds. You can feel the coils in the master bed and the one in the lake room (I didn't try the bunks). I ended up sleeping on the couch a lot. They're probably about due for a replacement.
The cottage is exactly as pictured. Kitchen well stocked with pots, pans and a toaster. Also various spices. Beds are comfortable with nice quality sheets. Enjoyed our meals at the table with a big umbrella on the deck overlooking the beach/lake. Living room has two comfortable recliners, couch and a TV with streaming and a DVD player. Our family of four adults enjoyed our week here. This is our third year staying here and hope to come back next year.
Jenniferâs cottage was very comfortable, lots of light from all the windows and also nice to have the air conditioner as the first night was very hot and humid. Kitchen had everything we needed as we cooked most every meal. Centrally located to Caseville and not that far to get to Port Austin.
Had a couple of questions for Jennifer and she got right back to us.
Enjoyed the beach/lake - an easy walk into the water (not a steep incline) and two sand bars before getting into deep water.
Will definitely come back for another beach vacation!
This was a family vacation with my adult kids and our first grandchild. All of us liked the open layout and nice beach. The cottage was clean through out.
This place was just what the family needed. We had a wonderful time relaxing and being together. It is very clean and liked the open concept it had. Would definitely rent again.
We enjoyed a terrific week in Caseville. Awesome waterfront location. We appreciated the easy access to the amenities such as outdoor seating, patio umbrella, grill, firewood, deck, etc. Our hosts had games and plenty of books should we have wanted to use them. Also appreciated having a kitchen with many tools as we prepared the majority of our family meals. Highly recommend!
Nice place....late notice about well water...bad well water.
They advertised washer as a a plus....however when you get there the washer has a sticker saying "warning well water stains"
Beautiful waterfront and view
Very comfortable and clean
This property was perfect! Very clean, everything you could need in an up north weekend! Jen has EVERYTHING you may think you need for the beach/vaca. Board games, movies, beach toys for kids, very thoughtful! The only downside was that the beach washed away (Mother Nature) but great beaches were minutes away.
Great week..We had a wonderful week with wonderful weather the place was fantastic... mother nature has taken her toll on the beaches all around the thumb but there was just enough there for us to have a great time with four kids !!!!
My husband and I took our two kids up to Caseville for a long weekend, and it was such a wonderful stay. The water is definitely higher than it has been in previous years but there was still ample beach for the boys to play on.
The cottage came equipped with everything we needed and then some! We had a ton of beach chairs and beach toys, and there were also several kid friendly board games. We had a great time teaching the kids tp play Chute sand Ladders, Go Fish and Candy Land.
The kitchen had everything you needed and the beds were comfortable. There was even a kids stool and a guard rail for the bed.
We hope to be back soon. Thanks Jennifer!
We spent 3 nights and had the best, most relaxing time. The cottage is clean, well-equipped and was exactly what we were hoping for as a quick cottage getaway with our two small children (8 & 1). Close to town and the beach was fantastic! We will surely book again!
THIS WAS A VERY NICE RENTAL. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT I RENTED PRIVATELY AND I WAS MOST IMPRESSED. EVERYTHING WENT AS PLANNED AND I HAD NO PROBLEMS. ALL GOOD! I JUST MAY RETURN SOON FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME.
My family and I stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and it was fantastic! Owner was very responsive and provided everything we needed. Had a great weekend in this wonderful house.
