We had a great weekend the house was just as described and the owner who lives very close was great. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody staying in the area
Excellent place to stay if you want to get away with the family. No phone service so everyone had to do things with the family ( played games, fished and swimming) overall we loved it.
Clean, very well equipped, Pat thought of everything you could possibly need including q tips, tooth brushes, bug spray etc, our group was totally satisified in every way
Went for a girls weekend getaway! Host was wonderful, so accommodating and very friendly. We had a wonderful time and we look forward to returning soon!
Beautiful stay the night sky was amazing and the quiet peace of mind made great sleep, everyone felt refreshed and the amenities offered made for a great stay!
Was perfect for our family of 6 adults and 3 kids. Privacy, with your own swimming hole, fishing, fire pit and plenty of room for all our outdoor games. Perfect large dining table and 3 bathrooms. We had planned some excursions, but had plenty to do here and enjoy family time.
Hosts were great, House was great, spacious and very clean, with lots of amenities. Enjoyed the quiet property, but not so far from everything if you need to go into town itâs only 10 minutes and a beautiful drive. Would defiantly recommend !! Great spot !
The home is private and very, very clean. The owners are gracious and provide a great number of amenities. We stayed here to ride our dirt bikes; riding directly to the trails (which are also great fun) was terrific. We will all return and I highly recommend staying here.
Pat is so amazing! She was always around if we needed anything. The house was perfect for us to relax and regroup. We felt right at home! Thank you again, Pat, for making the weekend so enjoyable for us!
Pat was amazing at making sure we were accommodated. The place is a gem and we were extremely impressed. We were excited to see the gates for the small children and plenty of activities for them to do too. Definitely stay here! Being off grid with hardly any cell service was a breath of fresh air and much needed.
First time booking VRBO and I sure did pick the cream of the crop. Had a first time girls weekend with my aunt, sisters, daughter, and nieces and we had the best time. No WiFi was the perfect setting for us to be able to reconnect. Hazelâs Hideaway impressed us beyond words, so clean and had anything and everything we needed. Pat the owner was so very helpful and kind. Canât recommend this place enough.
I traveled here alone to get some much needed time to myself. It was truly a beautiful property and I had fun hiking around and reading. Close to Silver Lake Sand Dunes, which was beautiful. I did have trouble locating the property because I was hoping to use GPS but the owners had provided clear directions and were helpful when I got lost :) The house itself was fine but I was mostly there to enjoy the silence and the outdoors.
The owners are very attentive. The swimming hole was great bottom and good shallow area on the campground side. Play set needs to be updated and safer. Railing on inside isnât safe for little children. Overall great little getaway for peace and quite. Donât depend on gps after M20 it will take you on an adventure get further directions from owners theyâre great.
We stayed here for 4 days. We're from the Detroit area and were trying to find somewhere close to Grand Rapids because we were going to a concert in thr city. This was about an hour away. It is secluded, its about 25 min into town. But for us, this is perfect! Just bring food and drinks and they supply the rest! The contact with the owners was great, during the booking process and during the stay. We really enjoyed ourselves:) Thank you for sharing your home with us!!
Pat was a good host. She came around Daily to make sure we had what needed. The kids enjoyed the small lake. Our 1 year old was in the water quite a bit and was good with the temperature. The large property gave us a lot of room to do exploring. No cell service (with Verizon) which we werenât sure about at first ended up being a big positive for us. Pats place Is peaceful and relaxing and being unplugged only helps with that relaxation.
This property was perfect! We had 4 adults, 4 kids, and a puppy! Everyone enjoyed the lake, whether fishing, swimming, kayaking, or floating. We had sâmores every night after grilling dinner. The kids enjoyed playing in the sand and on the swing set. The house is secluded. We spent a day on Lake Michigan, which was only a 45 minute drive. There were a few hiccups with the hot water tank breaking, but the owners were quick with fixing. We Highly recommend Hazelâs Hideaway to anyone who needs an unplugged getaway.
We loved everything! From the owners guiding us around the camp site, quick response to inquiries, the lake on the backyard, relaxing environment, makes this place a truly hidden gem.
Now itâs important to note stores are 20-30 minutes away, so if you forgot something you really have to think about how much you wanted or needed because it will be at least 1hours trip (both ways).
Also this place is good to disconnect from the world as it has almost no phone reception.
They do have plenty of board games, camping chairs, fire pit, and gas grill. Included all amenities you need. I would go back again.
We were in town for a funeral. So we didnât have much time to check out the amenities. But we had full access to the campground. The cabin was well equipped and the owners had firewood and bug spray for use. The water was I think well water so if this bothers you it might not be a place for you. But overall we were happy with the cabin, location close the Fremont , mi, and the cabin size. If anything the ad for the cabin makes it seem smaller but there was plenty if room to spread out!
Pat was a wonderful hostess; quick to respond and so happy to help. We had 5 adults, a 12 year old and an active 8 year old. We loved all the space inside and out for being together! We used the fire pit with the great chairs two evenings fsâmores and having family time. We floated on the lake one evening. Loved being an hour away from Grand Haven and Pete Marquette beaches.Highly recommend the USS LST 393 museum ship in Muskegon. Every age group enjoyed it. Highly recommend Putters Creek for go carts, mini golf and especially jelly ball (think low impact paint ball). Loved it! God bless you, Pat!

Deceiving lake
Main reason for booking this was to be able to walk outside and be a few steps from the lake where I had planned to spend most of my time. Imagine my disappointment to find that the lake on my side was a fishing hole and the bank covered in tall weeds, you had to take a 10 minute walk to get to the side you could swim in. If you are looking for an outdoorsy kind of trip you might love this place however I am not I just wanted a lake outside my door not a fishing hole. I would not stay here again.
