Well presented Cottage

Can't fault the cottage, it ticks all the boxes for a relaxing break. Easy reach to the beach and local restaurants

Perfect little cottage

We are two couples who wanted to be near the Largo arts festival in a quiet location, with a dog. This cottage was perfect as it was very peaceful and only a 15 minute walk into Lower Largo. The back garden is lovely to sit in and due to the amazing weather we mostly ate outdoors. On one occasion we ate inside and the small table with chairs in the window folds out to give sufficient room for four. The shower is very good and the kitchen has all necessary equipment and white goods. All in all, an excellent little cottage…and the owners are very easily contacted and helpful.

A familiar familial base

It was the perfect location for a working holiday! A village I have had lifelong connection to . The cottage’s situation and internal layout were excellent. The welcome goodie basket contained several tasty mostly locally sourced products.The secluded garden was beautiful for breakfast outdoors on a couple of mornings. The amount of storage for coats , boots and clothes was way above the usual on offer on smaller properties. The sitting room was functional however the awkward situation of the fold away dining table , the very tatty cushion covers and poor prints of local scenes were the negative aspects. The kitchen was very well equipped. I would stay again happily.

Thank you for taking the time to review Kirkview, we are sorry you didn’t like the position of the table. As you noted space is limited and we feel that the position in the window is the best position but this is only our opinion and we wonder why you didn’t move the table to a position that suited you rather than write a negative comment. With regards to the cushions thank you for pointing this out we will look to get the covers changed and with regards to the “tatty” prints, had you actually bothered to look at them in detail you will have noted that they are a historical photographic and drawn record of the cottage through the near 200 years it has been in existence and some of them are rather old for which we make no apology.

Feedback

The cottage had some lovely features such as the garden but the kitchen equipment - pots, pans, oven trays were quite gross, damaged, and uncleanable. The bathroom was also v dated.

Cosy cottage with beautiful garden

This is a lovely cottage with very attentive owners who replaced the dishwasher immediately when it broke whilst we were there. The cottage has a cosy living room with fire, which we enjoyed. It has a lovely garden, well equipped kitchen and a lovely large master bedroom. The second bedroom is rather small but with two comfortable single beds. The cottages has been furnished and decorated thoughtfully, with personal touches like local photographs on the walls, and patchwork throws and cushions for the beds. A huge bonus was being able to bring two dogs who loved it. The seaside, beach and Lower Largo are an enjoyable 20 minutes walk and it is easy driving distance of a host of local attractions. We had a lovely week and would recommend this cottage to others.

Superb cottage in a pretty, quiet location.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kirkview Cottage. It was beautifully presented, comfortable and super clean. Everything has been considered and there are plenty of cooking utensils and crockery. (Maybe a few more mugs? We ran out often with three of us, having to resort to washing up! Haha!) Our two dogs were welcomed and loved the enclosed, private garden. Quite a suntrap. The recycling facilities are next level, but clearly explained. It was pleasing to only leave a small bag of actual rubbish. Beds are comfortable and the main one is a generous size. All linen and towels are white and fresh. The shower is easy to use and efficient. A delicious basketful of bread, cake and jam was provided and milk in the fridge (a large fridge/freezer) plus fresh flowers in the lounge, where there are two sofas and a small pull-out dining table. Parking is opposite the cottage but the road is not at all busy. The host called to see if we were ok and gave us tips about dog walks and local recommended eateries. Do have fish and chips in Anstruther - best ever! A real home from home, thank you.

Kirkview Cottage, July 2026 Review.

This is our sixth year staying in this location, but our first time at this particular cottage since our previous accommodation was sold. The property is very well-presented. The master bedroom offers plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, and the bed and pillows were highly comfortable. However, we would have appreciated the option of a flat sheet, as the duvet got quite hot at night. The second bedroom is on the smaller side, featuring only a small tallboy and a bedside cabinet. Personally, it was a bit too cramped for my parents who joined us. The shower was spacious, providing plenty of hot water and a choice between two different shower heads. The kitchen is well stocked. We had a bit of a learning curve with the combined washer/dryer since we don't have this type at home, finding that the towels took a long time too dry. We eventually discovered that the 30-minute quick wash and dry setting worked best. The garden features a small rotary washing line; it initially needed some overhanging branches cut back to be usable, but the gardeners arrived mid-week and sorted this out. The secure garden was perfect for our dog. Additionally, there is a green directly opposite and a cricket pitch just 100 metres away, which were perfect for early morning and evening dog walks. We also loved that we could leave the windows securely open while we were out, and parking was convenient right outside the property. Would we return? Yes, we are already hoping to book again for next year!

Strongly recommend this cottage

A lovely quiet cottage located close to the villages of the East Neuk of Fife. Very comfortable and well-equipped, with clear instructions and guidance about all we needed to know. We much enjoyed our short holiday, and would strongly recommend this cottage.

A cute little cottage

A cute little cottage in a beautiful position. Very clean and well equipped. Really nice to have a garden to sit outside and to let the dogs out. Well positioned near to all the wonderful seaside villages and the coastal path. Wonderful walks to the beach every morning. We had a nice meal at Upper Largo Hotel. A very friendly and welcoming establishment. A fab dog friendly week in Fife.

Home from Home

Fantastic cottage beautiful enclosed garden which the dogs loved. I would definitely recommend this cottage it was spotless had every home comfort. Great walks for dog's beautiful area of Fife. I would definitely rent the cottage again.
