Fantastic place to stay in Pittenweem in this âhome from homeâ cottage.
Very comfortable and well equipped.
Lovely garden to sit out on.
We will definitely return.
A lovely cottage in the heart of Pittenweem with easy access to the coastpath for walking and easy routes to other East Neuk locations.Would highly reccomend
Clean comfortable and well equipped cottage in a great location, only a few minutes walk from the High Street and the harbour. Lovely coast path walks in both directions. Perfect for a relaxing break
The house is cosy and comfortable, very pleasant. We enjoyed our stay. The environment is quiet.
The host is kind and all the explanations were useful and convenient.
Moreover, Pittenweem is a pleasant little village by the sea.
Lovely cottage with everything you need for a relaxing, chilled break. Communication with the owner was brilliant. Beautiful walks on the doorstep and so many great eating places in and around Pittenweem.
Really nice cosy cottage in a great location, very well equipped and supplied. Very friendly owner. We had a great stay, and look forward to returning in the future.
I was trying to think of something to write on how I felt about my stay. On entering this lovely cottage, it felt like, one big cosy, warm, comfortable, safe and secure hug. I needed to get away for a short break, I didn't know at the time when I booked this last minute, it turned out to be just what I needed and so much more. Elaine, the host was absolutely lovely, her enthusiasm, love of the cottage and very friendly village was totally contagious and understandable. I was really sad and really didn't want to leave but I am planning to return.
for a break
Had an absolutely fabulous stay at this cottage lots of home comforts lovely garden such a sun trap and a great base for exploring the East Neuk of Fife. Description of cottage and facilities was spot on as advertised with so much more provided cannot fault this property we will book again for đ
Lovely cottage . We just love East Neuk area always enjoy our stays .
A bonus this time was the garden area . We certainly made use of it especially as we had beautiful weather . Neighbours are very friendly too .
Cosy, clean, comfortable cottage in a conservation village. Everything we needed was available at this accomodation. Dog loved the enclosed garden. Neighbours very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Local attractions close by. Communication with Peter was excellent. Thanks Peter. Hope to return one day.
An enjoyable stay despite terrible weather. The village is lovely. The cottage was comfortably furnished and the kitchen well equipped. The bedrooms were on the small side but overall a nice place to spend a few days.
The host was very friendly and helpful.
I found Vrbo systems unnecessarily complex and felt the organisation was only interested in selling more holidays and not in providing a good service to the customer. When I did manage to get through to an actual person he was very polite and helpful despite having to go through a great rigmarole before even asking what he could do to help.
Stayed in Conservation cottage for a long weekend with my friend and my dog.
Cottage was a great find. Very clean and very comfortable. It has everything you need to ge able to relax. Lovely garden area where you vou could sit out if the weather allowed.Very close to the harbour area where there were a few shops and restaurants. Lots of different walks nearby and easy access to other areas of the East Coast. The area is very dog friendly and people are friendly too.
Communication with the host is excellent.
Would love to return for another stay soon.
Cosy wee cottage close to the main road running through Pitenweem on the road to Anstruther. Good access to harbour just 4 or 5 streets away downhill. Lovely pop in antiques/junk emporium on the next road, right next to a gallery, fresh fishmonger at the end of the street. Narrow lane outside the house with no parking restrictions with two steep steps from the pavement up to the garden from the street and then into the cottage. For a small cottage it seemed to have anything you could possibly need, with sheltered outdoor seating area & BBQ. Compact bedrooms but not really lacking anything at all, spacious sitting room for 4. Personally found the bed a little small for 2of us, as both of them are up against walls and on one side so difficult to get out of for a nighttime pee without waking up the other half! Otherwise perfect, weâll be back.
On arrival I went to side of house to collect the key as instructed, and came back around to discover my husband already in, as someone had left a key in the door! The first thing we noticed was the horrible smell, like stale air freshener and carpet freshener, as if another unpleasant smell was being covered up. The cottage is very small, which isn't a problem in itself, but sitting room felt claustrophobic with the excessive amount of furniture and clutter that was stuffed into it. There were 2 small double bedrooms, the 2nd of which [ if you could call it a bedroom, it didn't have a window, no chance of escape in the event of a fire in the night! ] smelled particularly bad. The kitchen was ok, but the bathroom was the only really decent room. Before booking I asked specifically if the garden was enclosed and secure, as we have 2 dogs, I was assured it was, but discovered the tiny patch of garden was surrounded by a wall which was very low at the front with a rickety gate, the dogs could easily have jumped down from this onto the road, a small child could certainly topple over and have a nasty fall due to the drop on the other side. We went out for a few hours after unloading our stuff, and although we had been assured we could easily park our SUV on the street, when we came back we found that although there was a gap between 2 vehicles it was impossible to park as the road was too narrow to get in the gap without hitting wall on the other side. On re-entering the cottage we were immediately hit with the awful smell again, and decided we couldn't sleep there for one night, never mind the two we had booked! [ Thank goodness we had not booked a longer stay! ] We loaded up our stuff and headed home. Arrived at 2pm, home by 9pm! Awful
Lovely cosy cottage, nice and warm and very comfortable, our labrador loved it and the coastal surrounding walks, very friendly neighbours and people in area, fantastic Chinese along road and the wee chippy in Anstruther was so fresh and top class. Peter our host was very helpful and friendly.
A lovely well appointed cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and was very handy for the town centre where the locals were very welcoming. Pittenweem was a great base for visiting the other towns in this special part of Scotland. Peter the owner had given us recommendations for local restaurants and both the Dreel and Larachmohrwere excellent and great value. A real bonus was that nearly all the coffee shops and restaurants were dog friendly and being able to take them in with us
We just started renting in the summer of 2016 with great response. We already have people threatening to return! Our rates reflect the fact that we would like our guests to come and enjoy the area as we do.
The cottage belonged to Elaine's father and we enjoy it and maintain it in his honour. It is uniquely located in the conservation area of Pittenweem being very quiet yet close to the local amenities.
