Just, what we needed!

My family and me were very happy with our hosts Saranne and Graham, as both of them did everything to make our stay joyful, relaxing and comfortable. The house, being situated in a very beautiful landsacape is well kept and has everything you would need. All in all a wonderful experience. Thanks a a lot!

Peace and Tranquility

Rustic and tranquil house down a gravel road on the crest of a hill. Great views and friendly hosts. It is a subdivided house with the owners and their family living on one side and the rental portion on the other. The rental spaces are clean and comfortable, but some bedrooms can only be accessed via an external door on the property's side. Good outdoor spaces.

GETAWAY IN le marche

Very quiet and rustic ancient dwelling with 2 fabulous hosts. Graham treated us to several wine tastings and an olive oil tasting. Learned so much! He also helped me tremendously with house hunting advice. Saranne was wonderful with her direct assessments of the area and provided wonderful resources for eating and shopping. This is as natural setting as you can get with warm inviting hosts. Be prepared for some rough mountainous roads getting certain places and greetings by the local Tigger who is a sweetheart of a cat. Be sure and visit the Abbey and surrounding villages. Easy drive to the coast.

In one word ... Wonderful !

It was a more then pleasant and memorable stay at le foglie ridenti. Such a wonderful place with a very musical and friendly host family. Our house was comfortable in rustic style. They baked delicious cakes, and the bread was very nice. The natural pool was a great experience with a direct connection with nature. The landscape and the sound of birds and cicadas made our holiday. The property is a short drive from Tolentino and within easy driving distance of the Adriatic beaches in Marche and the Grotte di Frasassi (great tip from the host), and a doable distance from Assisi and many other Umbrian villages. A special thanks to the girls, our daughter loved every minute spent with them. (and the chicken activity's was one of the highligths as well :=) Again thanks for the lovely time we had.

Un lieu unique

Pour amoureux de la nature et du calme, une superbe bâtisse rénovée avec goût et passion dans un cadre merveilleux. A 30 minutes des plages ou du lac, un vrai luxe. Graham et Saranne sont des belles personnes. Leur vin et leur huile d’olives sont Fiori Class ( je crois que l’on dit comme cela d’un joueur de football exceptionnel)

"Arrivi come turista,parti come amico"

A notre arrivée, Graham nous attendait assis sur le perron de sa maison et dès nos premiers échanges, nous avons compris que notre séjour serait "cool". Merci de nous avoir accordé une aussi belle attention malgré les restrictions imposées par le COVID. C'était magique.

Wir haben unsere zwei Wochen Urlaub auf Le Foglie Ridenti sehr genossen!Graham, Saranne und Familie sind einfach tolle Gastgeber! Selbst bei kurzer Abwesenheit war für alles gesorgt und aufmerksame Ansprechpartner Vorort vorhanden.Der Charme des alten Bauernhauses ist durchgängig erhalten und sorgt für einen gemütlichen Aufenthalt. Auch bei großer Hitze waren die Temperaturen im Haus angenehm, die Fliegengitter an den Fenstern ermöglichten eine gründliche nächtliche Lüftung.Der große Garten mit vielen Pflanzen und Bäumen bot viele gemütliche, auch beschattete Sitzmöglichkeiten mit tollem Ausblick in die Natur und erholsamer Ruhe. Im romantisch gelegenen Naturteich mit herrlich weichem Wasser, schönen Seerosen, Fröschen und Libellen konnte man auch an heißen Tagen gut abkühlen und regenerieren. Für relativ unsportliche Gäste wäre eine Leiter, vor allem für den Ausstieg wünschenswert.Viele außerordentliche Sehenswürdigkeiten, Klöster, Burgen, Strände, Seen, Dörfer und Städte sind sehr gut und schnell zu erreichen, zum größten Teil über ausgebaute Straßen, manchmal aber auch über steilere Schotterstrecken.Wir haben die große Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft der einheimischen Bevölkerung insgesamt sehr zu schätzen gelernt. Wir hatten viele sehr erfreuliche Begegnungen unterwegs, wenn man nach dem Weg gefragt hat konnte es passieren, dass man zum Ziel begleitet wurde! Unser ganz besonderer Dank geht aber an Graham, Saranne und Familie für ihre große Gastfreundschaft!!!!

entspannter Sommerurlaub

Das sehr schöne und gut ausgestattete Ferienhaus ist idyllisch auf einem Berg gelegen. Für Ruhesuchende wie uns mit unseren zwei Kindern optimal. Dennoch sind Märkte, Strände, Sehenswürdigkeiten mit dem Auto gut erreichbar. Auch Garten und Naturschwimmteich ließen keine Wünsche offen, sodaß auch ein Tag "zu Hause" eine Option ist. Saranne und Graham waren immer greifbar. Großes Kompliment. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Wunderschön!

Wir : 1 Kind 10 J. und 2 Erwachsene,haben die Zeit in diesen wundervollen mit Liebe restaurierten Anwesen trotz der Hitze sehr genossen ! Der Naturteich (Olivenbäume und Weingärten), sind ein Ort zum entspannen und erholen, wirklich Natur pur ! Alle Räume haben ihren ganz besonderen Charme, dass die oberen Schlafzimmer nur über Außen erreichbar sind , stört gar nicht, so kann man den Wohnbereich nutzen ohne die Schlafenden zu stören:) Graham und seine Familie sind sehr angenehme und herzliche Gastgeber, die uns mit vielen tollen Tipps zu Restaurants, Strände und der Umgebung immer geholfen haben…Danke!!! Auch die Anreise war Dank genauer Beschreibung problemlos. Sogar mit Motorrad (trotz etwas Schotterstraße) gut möglich! Die Umgebung ist wunderbar ! Alles mit dem Auto gut erreichbar. Assisi war wirklich überraschend schön! Was soll ich sagen ?, es war einfach wundervoll! We enjoyed it 🌈💫 Liebe Taylor‘s macht’s gut und nochmals Danke für die schöne Zeit!

In the middle of nature ...

... but not far away from infrastructure, the beach (20 min/car) and idyllic old cities we fully reloaded our batteries. The old italian stone-house is beautifully situated into the hills of „Le Marche“, surrounded by winyards, trees and a vegetable garden. The swimming in the natural pool was a delight, especially for the kids who could observe frogs and dragonflies while paddling in the water. The landlords, Saranne and Graham, were very attentive and charming hosts! We fully recommend „Le foglie ridenti“ - the laughing leaves!

Exceptional

It's an exceptional experience staying with Graham and Saranne (and Miri, Breda and Scorpio), because they're living the dream, and - gently and kindly - they invite you to do the same. Theirs is a faithfully-restored, ancient farmhouse set in a genuinely organic vineyard and olive grove, with a natural-water swimming-pool as luxurious as it is rare. The location is an idyll, with views to gaze on forever, yet it's ordinary too, with a neighbouring farmer phutting by up the hill in his Ape of an afternoon. Highlights? Pool-water soft on your skin in the rustling reeds as midnight crickets do their 'thang'... full moon rising over Colmurano... home-made tastes of bread, vino cotto, olive oil, coffee liqueur, honey... kindness, family and the music of Graham's accent. Recommended.

Perfekter Urlaub

Wir haben zwei wundervolle Wochen bei Saranne, Graham und ihren beiden Kindern verbracht. Wir haben die Ruhe, das Klima, das guten Essen und den leckeren Wein in vollen Zügen genossen. Wir haben viele besondere Erlebnisse in unseren "Erfahrungsrucksack" gepackt und werden sicher noch einige Zeit davon profitieren. Die Gastgeberfamilie hat uns rührend umsorgt und sich um uns gekümmert, so dass sogar eine Reifenpanne ohne große Aufregung repariert wurde. Zugute kam unserer Familie mit einem beeinträchtigten Kind die unwahrscheinlich positive, offene und wertschätzende Haltung der Gastgeber. Wir werden sicherlich einen weiteren Urlaub an diesem wunderbaren Ort verbringen. Vielen Dank!!!

Perfekter Urlaub mit Glücksgarantie

Wir waren im Urlaub bei den perfekten Gastgebern an einem wundervollen Ort. Wir haben die Ruhe genossen und waren ganz für uns. Die Foglie-Familie nahm uns mit zu Winzern, in die Käserei auf Theatertour und zu faszinierenden Straßenfesten. Unsere Kinder kochten Marmelade und backten Brot. Selbst eine Reifenpanne würde Dank Grahams Beistand unkompliziert behoben. Wir wurden so liebevoll umsorgt! Die Landschaft strahlt ebenso tiefe Ruhe und Gelassenheit aus. Essen und Trinken waren ebenso fantastisch. Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit!!!

Traumhafte Lage zum Erholen und Entspannen mit herzlichem Willkommen

Das Haus und die ganze Anlage drum herum ist ein Traum. Angefangen vom Ausblick in die Umgebung über die Herzlichkeit der Gastgeber bis hin zum Schwimmteich. Die Unterkunft ist sehr gut erhalten und extrem liebevoll gestaltet. Vom ersten Moment an fühlt man sich willkommen, hat aber seine Ruhe. Für Fragen, Tipps und auch nette Unterhaltungen sind die Eigentümer immer ansprechbar. Das Essen war fantastisch und der Schwimmteich hat Groß und Klein gleichermaßen erfreut und abgekühlt. Wer sich entspannen möchte und weg von der Welt sein will, ist hier definitv richtig. Als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge auch gut geeignet. Wir waren mit zwei Kleinkindern da, die sich über den Auslauf sowie den Sandkasten, die Schaukel und Rutsche gefreut haben. Vielen Dank an S. und G. sowie ihre beiden Mädchen, die mit Kuscheltieren ausgeholfen haben. Wir kommen gerne wieder, nur nächstes Mal vielleicht eher in einer kühleren Zeit wie Frühling oder Herbst. Ohne Abstriche zu empfehlen.

Quiet, Comfortable, Cosy

fantastic view, friendly reception, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, clean, good hot shower, cosy living room and dining area (with masses of brochures on nearby attractions), yummy products to buy, no hysterics when water-loving Labrador retriever frequently sneaked a quick dip in the eco-pond. Would recommend the property to a friend or relative. Several ancient hamlets nearby. A quiet retreat. Not suitable for disco-loving, night-clubbing types!

Great time in Graham's and Sarrana's property

We had a great time in Graham's and Sarrana's property. This is a charming house, surrounded by outstanding and beautiful view and environment, it is beautiful and clean. The owners are lovely, they helped us a lot during the stay and also before we arrived in arranging our trip. I would definitely recommend to visit this gorgeous area and to stay at this property.

Wonderlijke sterrenhemel in Le Marche

Liefhebbers van Italië die tijdens de schoolvakanties rust zoeken, zullen die vinden in de nog ongerepte streek Le Marche. Hier vind je authenticiteit, rust en veel groen. Het huis van Saranne en Graham werd gedurende zeven jaar met liefde gerestaureerd. Een rustig landweggetje doorheen velden en olijfbomen leidt naar het huis vanwaar je een prachtig uitzicht hebt. 's Nachts geniet je vanop het terras van een wonderlijke sterrenhemel. Betere gastheren kan je je niet voorstellen: Saranne en Graham doen alles om het je naar je zin te maken. Alles loopt heel naturel omdat ze oprecht vriendelijk zijn en dat alles draagt bij tot een heel geslaagde vakantie!

I have a long held and deep seated fascination with the Marche due to annual visits over nine years. By the happy chance I was introduced to Le Foglie Ridenti . What a sensational chance that was. This has seasoned country living at its heart, with sweeping hills of vines, oaks and olive groves. All this at the very heart of a constellation by jewel like hill towns to light out to and explore. The pioneers of this venture, have spent 7 years planning, building and enhancing Le Foglie Ridenti. This is no fly by night endeavour. It is the most successful “Old /New build” I know of, the care and attention to detail has made the guest house and its attendant garden terraces commodious, harmonious, separate and above all as of one with the panorama. All mod-coms within an authentic rustic ambience beautifully thought through. I loved it all. I loved the domesticity of permanence the ancient cultivation of the hills, the the nearest town, has everything one needs if one is a gourmand (not a gourmet) like myself, the pasticceria is to die for, that is, if you want a night out from preparing the divine veggies, and to cap it all, for a “festa” the town has the very best restaurant in the county. It ticks all the boxes 5 stars as suggested by this Review guide It is an amore.

Le Foglie Ridenti - Tolentino Marche

Un paio di giorni di soggiorno alle Foglie Ridenti sono bastati a farmi innamorare del suo circondario stupendo e delle bonta' gastronomiche di cui la sua terra abbonda! Ho finito per prolungare quello che doveva essere una visita di 3/4 giorni in una settimana. Paesaggi idilliaci, accoglienza calda e ospitalita' impeccabile. L'appartamento era provvisto di ogni comodita' necessaria, inclusa una cucina perfettamente funzionante e completamente attrezzata. Gli ambienti sono confortevoli pur mantenendo un carattere che si accompagna perfettamente con il paesaggio esteriore. A poca distanza di macchina ci sono anche molte attrazioni turistiche che vale davvero la pena visitare (Loreto, Recanati, Macerata, ecc.), includendo antiche rovine romane, santuari, abbazie romaniche e medievali - per gl'interessati ad arte e storia; il mare e i Monti Sibillini - per i naturalisti; e vitigni, caseifici e aziende olearie a volonta' per i ghiottoni (come me!); musica dal vivo pare anche essere frequente e un po' d'appertutto... c'e' davvero qualcosa per tutti i gusti. Raccomanderei a chiunque, e senza nessuna riserva, un soggiorno a Le Foglie Ridenti. P.S. non dimenticate la macchina fotografica! (e fatevi l'alzataccia per vedervi almeno un sorgere del sole - da togliere il fiato! - davvero un esperienza quasi zen!!!) Un abbraccio ai favolosi Saranne e Graham, con un grazie di cuore per una mini-vacanza davvero speciale! Anna
