Lovely vacation spot!

We had a wonderful time staying at this great house. A gem of a location, so easy to get to the beach and great eats. The house is cozy, well equipped and had everything we needed. Amazing House

We loved our stay at playin’ hooky. The house was the perfect size and had everything we needed. The host is amazing! She is so communicative and extremely helpful! I would highly recommend staying here!

Playin Hooky!

Our group had a great time at Oak Island. The house is very cute, and clean. The front porch is an absolute gem. It’s a little far from the beach (not walking distance) but that did not bother us at all. Love the house and would book again.

Great Family Vaca

My husband and I brought our 2 & 3 year old to the beach for a short weekend trip. The house was just a 3 minute drive to the beach. We absolutely loved the screened in front porch(that also had a high latch to make sure the kids didn't escape)!

Great location

Patti is an exceptional host. Very easy to rent from. It’s a charming cute house everything you could need. It was great for our family. My daughter loved the art work all the shells and knickknacks in the house. She spent a lot of time on the awesome screened in porch. It’s in an fantastic location. Very close to the beach. Very close to grocery stores and beach merchandise.

Just ok for us

Let me start with what we did not like. Cleanliness was not up to our standards. Tub looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all as there were hairs left in it. The plates and glasses had to be washed before we could use them, and the table on the covered front porch was black with soot when we went to wipe it down. This one is on me as I didn't notice that the "fully equipped kitchen" lacked a dish washing machine and it wasn't a big deal, but it might explain those not so clean dishes. Some of the towels were past replacing by a few months and there was just a single hotel-sized pack of shampoo and conditioner. My wife used it up in one shower after the day at the beach (not easy to wash out the salt if you have long hair). Now, the good part is the location, it is a 5 minute drive to the beach and about a 20 minute walk. The covered porch is huge and we really enjoyed it, once we cleaned up a bit. Beds are comfortable if not new or newer and house is nicely decorated. One thing I forgot to mention to the owner was that the smoke alarm would go off when we were warming up the oven, although there was no visible or "smellable" smoke. Owner gave us good instructions and invited us to let her know if there were any issues and we would have if we thought they could have been fixed quickly and without disrupting our vacation further.

Our stay

We loved this house. There was enough room for my kids and husband, and I. It was clean, there were beach chairs to take down to the beach, which was great. We enjoyed it and will definitely being coming back and using Vrbo again.

Relaxing Get-away

We had an awesome, relaxing week and Patti was more than just a owner/host, she was always available to answer any questions and told us of several places in the area to go for dinner or site-seeing. The house is very close to the beach and the grocery store. It was clean and added touches by Patti made it feel like we were at friends house instead of just a rental house. We will definitely stay here again the next time we go to Oak Island.

Playin Hooky was a great escape

This was a great rental. Literally 5 mins from the main strip and the beach. It was clean and accommodating even for a blended family with all age kids. I really liked how Patti had a charging station in the house for guest use. She was very nice and understanding when my youngest decided to run up the neighbors stairs. Thanks again Pattie, we will be back soon!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

This home has the most fabulous front porch! The inside is beachy decor and very welcoming. Great effort is spent in cleaning and disinfecting, according to the CDC guidelines after each guest for your safety and comfort. Everything you could think of is available to you. If you don't see it, just ask!

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Beach friendly huge front porch with dining option and relaxed seating, enclosed outdoor shower, picnic table in the back yard with plenty of seating. This is a quiet neighborhood and you will love the feeling of "getting away" ...Tell them all you're ....PLAYIN' HOOK-Y....see ya when I return!
