Retourner en classe à La Crosse, Wisconsin
L'école Wilson est située dans un cadre rural sur 12 acres de bois, de champs et de jardins à seulement 8 minutes du centre-ville historique de La Crosse. La location comprend l'ensemble de l'école et pourra accueillir confortablement 2 à 8 adultes pendant leur séjour. Les anciens bureaux de l'école sont remplacés par des meubles modernes et confortables. Là où les étudiants ont étudié, vous pouvez maintenant vous détendre dans le confort entouré par les collines du Wisconsin, à seulement un mile de la magnifique rivière Mississippi supérieure. L'école Wilson a été construite en 1917 et a fonctionné comme une école d'une pièce jusqu'en 1965. Il a été récemment restauré et élégamment meublé pour conserver l'atmosphère "ouverte" de l'école d'origine. Il conserve encore une grande partie de son caractère et de son charme d'origine avec le tableau noir et les bureaux d'école en ardoise d'origine. L'école est inscrite sur la ville de La Crosse, l'état du Wisconsin et le registre national des bâtiments historiques.

Family Christmas Gathering

Beautiful place full of history and nestled in the forest. Quiet place with awesome ambiance, open concept floor plan and close to town, the river, hiking trails and downhill skiing. Dick and Lisbeth were wonderful and very accommodating, will definitely stay with them again.

We were in town for a graduation so didn't spend a lot of time at the house, but loved the history layout of the Inn. The owners live close by and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay.

Wonderful weekend getaway!

We had an amazing stay at the Wilson Schoolhouse. The property itself was well maintained, full of amenities (coffee, snacks, tea, etc.) and so comfortable for a group of girlfriends. The location is accessible and close to town yet far enough away to allow for total relaxation. Lisbet, the owner, was lovely and thoughtful and just a delight! We all would highly recommend it for a getaway.

Nice and quiet

Overall very good place to stay. Bigger than I expected and more than enough room for the 3 of us. Right off of the highway but trust me, the traffic is never heard inside the house. Feels secluded but can be right inside LaCrosse in five minutes.

Super Cool La Crosse !

We loved the Wilson Schoolhouse and our two kids thought it was the coolest property they’ve stayed at. Close to everything in La Crosse with wonderful hospitality and anything we could have needed was in the house. We traveled with a bigger group, so we were a little nervous about the couch beds but they ended up being incredibly comfortable! Would stay again if in the area.

Excellent and relaxing property

We came to La Crosse for a car event and were looking for a relaxing private space. This home was ideal. Checking in and out could not have been easier, and the property was as clean as an operating room. The historical touches made it a cut above places we normally stay at. The owners have provided many historical references that really put this one room schoolhouse in perspective. It was truly one of the best stays we have had. Cannot reccomend it enough.

Charming & spacious!

What a wonderful stay!! A friend and I planned a sewing weekend away and the school house had everything we needed! Plenty of work space, plenty of space to relax & a lovely kitchen to prepare meals. Beds & linens were cozy & the house was very clean. The owners were so friendly & brought was fresh flowers upon arrival! We will definitely be back!

Great stay!

Listing was accurate, the schoolhouse was spotless, beds were comfortable, and the owners were fantastic to work with. We loved the history of the schoolhouse. Area was safe and quiet. The hosts made extra effort in assisting us with finding a lost package that was delivered and 'lost' - a neighbor picked it up to keep it safe and hand delivered to us to be sure we received it. The owners were out of town but were still available to assist us with the package and any questions we had. They definitely went above and beyond for us. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you!

Charming Historical Property

Owners have carefully preserved LaCrosse and American school house history by thoughtfully providing an opportunity to experience history up close. Our kids enjoyed the desks and chalkboard and imagining how school used to be in one room. I enjoyed the preserved history of the school house throughout the inn. Warm and inviting owners who were easy to communicate with. All amenities our family could want (kids ages 2-16). Very clean considering it’s a historic building. Comfortable accommodations and looking forward to staying again. So many hiking trails and beautiful views not far from the inn!

Wonderful Christmas Stay

We had our family Christmas here and stayed 4 nights. The schoolhouse is absolutely beautiful and full of history. It is very interesting and they have photos and documentation from when it was a true one-room schoolhouse. The whole place is much larger than we anticipated. The basement bedrooms were very comfortable. The kitchen is very nicely stocked. The owners were very kind and helpful. We will be back for sure!

Really cool historical building

The school house was perfect for our weekend visit. The large open common room was beautiful. We had fun looking through the historic pictures. We only stayed a weekend but would love to come back for a longer trip. Close enough to town but out in a more rural spot. The downstairs has two good sized bedrooms, and a sleeper sofa in the downstairs common room that worked for one of our teens. We would definitely come back.

Best School Ever

The school house was immaculate. All of our needs were met and there were even a few extras - such as granola bars, juice, coffee and tea. The beds were comfortable and private. The rooms were spacious and there were 2 bathrooms which was very nice. TV was available as well as reading materials and brochures for the area. It was so nice that when they remodeled they kept the school house feel. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly but not at all interfering. If we are lucky enough to go back and stay there again, we will make it for a much longer stay.

Great Ladies Weekend

This was a wonderful weekend for 6 ladies! Lots of room at this historic get away. Host and hostess were very happy to help with anything we might need, but it was so well stocked, with many extras, that we did not need to call. Even though there were only 2 bedrooms, the pull outs were comfortable. Surprised at how nice and warm it was, not at all drafty! Could not have asked for better room for making meals, playing games at the large table, and visiting, watching videos, in the living area. Loved it! Thanks for a great stay!

A wonderful winter getaway for family

We had a fantastic weekend. Our hosts were gracious and the amenities of the school house are wonderful. We had three little ones in tow. Upon seeing this, a wonderful box of vintage toys was deployed and the next 72 hours was dedicated to play, play, play. Unfortunately we forgot my wife's purse and didn't realize this until we were back in Madison. Not to worry, our hosts were able to help us out with mailing and postage. All the love to these two. They treat you right. Thanks again for a great winter weekend. xoxo
