There were three of us staying - all pensioners aged 95, 72 and 69. This was the perfect place for a two week holiday that included a wedding, Christmas, a family get together and new year. We felt at home right away. Beautiful large kitchen diner, so well equipped and welcome pack as well. The living room has three sofas and the bedrooms are really comfortable too. We couldnât fault it at all. Also so easy to get around with excellent road system. Thank you. We loved it.
Briar Rose was ideally situated for us to visit family, sightseeing and loads of local walks.
The bungalow was really clean, very comfortable and well equipped. Unfortunately due to a family emergency we had to reluctantly leave earlier than planned, but we definitely want to return! 10 out of 10 on all aspects!
With Covid restrictions, I wasn't able to stay overnight with family so I happened across this holiday let close by. The comms from the owner were great and the whole holiday went smoothly. The bungalow is well and thoughtfully equipped with the basics. Plus added extras were available such as toiletries, emergency snacks, as well and bread and milk on hand should they be needed. I really do recommend this let.
We had a terrific time staying at the cottage. The accommodation was very clean and extremely well stocked. The kitchen was beautiful with everything needed to cook and enjoy meals. We really enjoyed relaxing in the gorgeous space. We were visiting family and this location worked well. Herrington Park, Penshaw Monument and The Penshaw Farm shop and cafe were fun outings. If I ever make it back again I would rent this cottage.
After purchasing the property 6 months were spent totally renovating it before making it available as a holiday home. Having spent many years of my life working around the world living out of a suitcase I have a lot of experience of good and bad temporary accommodation. To-date our customer feedback tells us we are doing something right.
With easy access to the A1M and the A19 The Briar Rose is perfectly located for exploring this often overlooked yet beautiful and historic part of Britain. The wild dales of the Pennines, the pristine blue flag beaches all along the coast, the bustling cities of Durham & Newcastle and so much more. However long your stay it will be far too short.
"An oasis of tranquility " was the phrase used by a guest. The property is very quite, warm and very comfortable. Quality beds guarantee a good nights sleep. The gardens are private and the rear is south facing and is a good place to sit from March onward. Major efforts are made to keep the place spotless, which we see is greatly appreciated by our guests reviews.
