Primrose Cottage, Dittisham

Primrose Cottage est un charmant cottage de vacances acceptant les animaux de compagnie à Dittisham, exclusivement commercialisé par Dart Valley Cottages. Situé au bout d'une terrasse exposée au sud, le Primrose Cottage donne sur le paisible verger et les jardins communs de Dittisham Court. Le Primrose Cottage propose un mobilier confortable et de bonnes installations pour des vacances reposantes. Le cottage se trouve au cœur du village, à quelques minutes à pied du magasin du village, du pub Red Lion et de l’église, et à dix minutes de marche du Ferryboat Inn et du Anchorstone Cafe, du côté du quai. Depuis le quai, il y a des traversées en ferry vers Greenway (l'ancienne maison de vacances d'Agatha Christie) et vers Dartmouth. Crabbing du ponton est un favori des enfants et The Ham fournit un grand espace pour se défouler.

Hébergement:
La porte d'entrée mène au couloir et mène au salon clair et spacieux avec un canapé et des chaises, un lecteur TV / DVD et un coin repas avec une table et des chaises. Des portes-fenêtres vous mènent au patio ensoleillé et au petit jardin avec mobilier de jardin. Une cuisine bien équipée avec placards à crème modernes, four électrique et plaques chauffantes, micro-ondes, lave-vaisselle intégré, réfrigérateur / congélateur intégré, lave-linge et radio DAB. Il y a un vestiaire avec toilette et lavabo également en bas.

A l'étage: Il y a deux chambres à coucher, les deux mansardées et un mobilier en chêne moderne. La chambre principale a un lit king size et une vue sur le verger et le village et une salle de douche attenante avec douche à jets et lavabo. La deuxième chambre est une chambre double avec placard intégré. Il y a aussi une salle de bains familiale avec baignoire, douche électrique, toilettes et lavabo.

Voyage lit et chaise haute sur demande

Extérieur: Primrose Cottage bénéficie d'un patio ensoleillé et d'un petit jardin à l'arrière de la propriété avec mobilier de jardin et vue sur le verger partagé. Le verger est accessible via quelques marches au bout de la zone pavée. Veuillez noter que le jardin n'est pas sécurisé pour laisser sortir les chiens. Il y a une place de parking privée pour une voiture devant le chalet.

Proche:
Le pub de village The Red Lion est à 5 minutes à pied au coin de la rue. Le Red Lion abrite également le magasin du village et le bureau de poste. Une promenade de 10 minutes vous amènera à The Quay où vous trouverez le Ferry Boat Inn et le Anchorstone Cafe, ainsi que les ferries pour Greenway et Dartmouth.

En haute saison, mai, juin, juillet et août, nous devons respecter les changements du samedi et un séjour minimum de 7 nuits. Toutefois, veuillez me contacter pour toute demande que vous pourriez avoir et nous nous en occuperons si possible.
En dehors de la haute saison, nous n’avons pas besoin de passer au samedi.

The cottage was very nice,clean and an excellent position for us. We throughly enjoyed our time there. Would recommend dart valley cottage’s to family and friends. Will be returning in the future.

decent cottage in nice location

lovely location very close to river dart; local ferry boat inn is a short walk and you can't beat the riverside location with ferries going downstream :-) Primrose cottage had a nice garden and space inside as described. It could do with a bit of TLC on decoration. we learnt that the village is called Ditsum locally. getting anywhere involves hills, narrow lanes, windy local roads but worth it for the beauty of Dartmoor and the local coast.

Splendid holiday in Dittisham

We had a wonderful fortnight in Primrose cottage in Dittisham. The location is great , with a lovely view of the church and the communal garden which looks like it used to be an orchard. Easy parking and a lovely village , this is our 20th year of visiting!

Not up to expectations

On arrival at cottage looked very unkept window and doors needed cleaning. Gap round the front door let cold air in. Lounge and landing window glass has blown. We drew to the attention of Dart Valley Cottages shortly after arrival four things that needed urgent attention and although this was acknowledged by the company these were not attended to before our departure. These being the servicing of the fire extinguisher overdue by a year, fire blanket should have been replaced last October, the shower curtain was black in places, the pull cord for the light in the cloakroom was black and the pull cords in the other bathrooms were also very dirty. Mould in the cloakroom disgusting and the grass at the bottom of the outside stairs and at the front of the property needed mowing. I would not wish to book this cottage again or to use Dart Valley Cottages.

Great location and very comfortable

The cottage is quiet with lovely views across the orchard towards the river, and to the church. It has a nice garden and terrace. It was clean and comfortable with pleasant furnishings. However, it needs attention to the damp, possibly rot, in the downstairs toilet, as well as some blown out double glazing units. The parking was really convenient. We would happily stay again if visiting the area.

Nice, but needs a small amount of TLC.

Lovely quiet location with a pleasant view across Dittisham and a small private garden. The property was generally very clean but there were a few small issues, basin plug not working, toilet lid not fixed properly and beware the dishwasher door that will crash down when you open it. The property although nice lacks a bit of soul, with no books, games or ornaments to give that nice lived in feeling.

Great location, cottage needs some TLC

Cosy and well equipped. Beds comfy. All linen clean and good quality. Pretty garden and communal orchard well kept, ideal if you have a pet. Garden not secure however. Areas need addressing. Some interior damp, water damage staining. Lawn table leg broke. En-suite shower no pressure. Outside rendering dirty, gives poor first impression, would be a quick job to fix. Informed Dart Valley of issues, they were very quick to reply and forwarded info to owner. Dart Valley have been very professional throughout booking and rental period.

Tired house but pleasant location

This was our second visit, and on our arrival we were dismayed to see the house looking so tired and dirty outside. The interior was clean, but the kitchen was very disappointing. Cooking equipment was in some cases greasy and not properly washed, items were broken including the kettle. Kitchen cupboard interiors were dirty. This time we couldn’t use the garden furniture because the grass was long and hadn’t been cut for some time. We contacted Dart Valley staff, who said they would pass on our comments to the owners. Nothing happened despite their written assurances about high standards in the house manual. We cleaned the kitchen cupboards and kitchen utensils we needed to use. We phoned again half way through our stay and asked about a replacement kettle. The member of staff said that she still hadn’t heard from the owners, but that she would have a working kettle delivered to the cottage. We enjoyed being once more in Dittisham but would never stay in this cottage again, nor trust Dart Valley Cottages.

Picture Postcard Village

Reading previous guests reviews in advance of our trip we were somewhat apprehensive at what to expect and even called Dart Valley Cottages (DVC) to express our concern. However, on arrival we were very pleasantly surprised to find a clean and tidy property that had clearly been recently refreshed with all our areas of concern addressed in advance. These included, a full redecoration throughout, full garden maintenance and newly replaced garden furniture, new electric showers in both bathrooms, brand new bed and towel linens and a very clean and practical kitchen. Descriptions of its dire outside appearance were certainly not warranted, as at the date of our visit the property and grounds were presented extremely well. The location is very peaceful and scenic in a quiet courtyard with views across a communal orchard and across the village to the river. It also offers four acres of communal grounds to enjoy and exercise any dog. The village is accessed by very narrow and steep lanes, which may be problematic for some, but this is what gives it spectacular views. The village is difficult to travers for those with mobility issues but the cottage provides easy access to The Ham, which offers a great recreational space on the riverbank and useful level access to the village quay along the foreshore when the tide is out. For visits to Dartmouth, Kingswear and the surrounding areas the location is ideal. The cottage also provides very useful doorstep car parking, which is definitely a premium in this location. The cottage was well equipped with all the essentials, although water pressure in the en-suite shower was particularly poor. This small shower is only really suitable for this unable to access a shower over the bath. Otherwise, the main bathroom shower was perfectly adequate. The outside space for Primrose Cottage is one of the best for those at Dittisham Court providing a small gated upper terrace, secure for any dog, with a large side terrace providing additional seating and outside dining areas. A few steps lead down to the lawn area with further seating/dining area overlooking the orchard and village beyond, but this area is not enclosed for dogs. The cottage did provide basic essentials including washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing machine detergent, hand washes, toilet disinfectant etc. However, this is the first time in many years of holidaying in the UK when there was no welcome pack provided - eg a cake, or bottle of wine, milk, tea or coffee to welcome you after your journey down. This would be a welcome improvement. A tray would be very helpful for eating and drinking outside along with placemats to help protect the dining furniture (we improvised with our own tea towels). Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Primrose Cottage and were well cared for by DVC.

A cosy , warm, comfortable end of terrace cottage which was very peaceful out of main holiday season It is set on the edge of a beautiful communal orchard garden in a pretty , hilly ,river Dart village which has amenities to suit everyone

We really enjoyed our stay at Primrose Cottage. We found the cottage in a very clean and tidy condition. Kitchen, lounge and bedrooms were excellent. We visited many places in the local area and they were very nice. We would definitely book again in the future. Thanks.

5 days at primrose cottage

Very comfortable cottage although the bed could do with a few springs. Very well equipped with loads of hand wash/sanitizer and plenty of cleaning equipment. The location was excellent unfortunately the weather wasn't too good to make the most of the beautiful garden and outside. Excellent pub/shop/post office etc. We would certainly book it again.

A lovely cottage in a beautiful situation. Very well equipped, a home from home. Stunning scenery and coastal walks close by. Dartmouth a short drive away, where we dined each evening. Weather was wonderful, in fact everything perfect.

Beautiful stay in Dittisham

Lovely cottage which was spotless on arrival. Cake and milk was a very welcome surprise. Our toddler loved the garden and orchard and we used the cottage as a base to explore not only the village, but to go kayaking, visit numerous beaches and the wonderful babbacombe model village.

Good location but...

The location is very good, in a quiet place in Dittisham. The cottage is part of a row of rental properties with a small garden and a larger shared plot. Walking distance to quay, pubs, village. The walk to Dartmouth is very scenic and you can return by river boat. The confirmation email we received stated to bring towels, so we did but we found towels at the property - communication issue? We found the property looked clean but there were cobwebs, dirty windows, sticky kitchen surfaces that imply a quick clean with lots of cleaning products rather than deep cleaning. The furniture is really outdated (the sofa really needs replacing, It is old and stained) and it feels like stepping back in time with polyester bedding. The welcome pack consisted of a packed Swiss roll and milk. The whole property feels unwelcoming and unloved. There is no attention to detail anywhere. Having been in several cottages in the last 15 years, this is ,in our opinion, very overpriced..

Very enjoyable stay at Primrose Cottage

We really enjoyed our stay in Primrose Cottage/Dittisham. The village is very quiet and relaxing. The cottage was just what we needed and we found everything there that we needed. There were cobwebs/spiders around the ceiling in the kitchen but other than that, the cottage was clean. The area to the rear of the property i.e. the orchard was ideal for the dog. It was lovely looking out over this during our stay. Overall, we had a lovely week and we would definitely return Thank you

Primrose cottage 2021

The exterior of the property was tired and dirty, windows need cleaning patio needs weeding bushes trimming, and perhaps a lick of paint, the garden furniture has seen better days. Interior was basic it was clean and overall ok but again needed some TLC, the bed has broken lattes, light bulbs out ,fire place has broken tiles and all the upstairs floor boards squeak when you walk on them so anyone going to the toilet in the night woke up other guest. There are crows living in the chimney which wake you up at 5am every morning. The cottage was ideal situated in the village and access was good. Value for money is a hard one to judge as all properties in the area have had massive price increases since covid

A no frills cottage in an excellent location. Cottage has everything you need for your stay in Devon. Parking a little tight if you have a large car. No socket near bedroom mirror. Easy walk to village and river.

Primrose cottage.

Primrose cottage was known to be a clean well designed comfortable holiday home by the year’s of reports in the visitor’s book. We had rain every day but managed to visit friends and family for walks . This was the last week of lockdown so the well equipped kitchen at the cottage was so helpful. Super new fridge. Upstairs much comfort , super main bedroom with a very good King mattress and en-suite. Unfortunately we used the second bedroom single mattresses for one night only. Sadly the only poor night. We are sailors so we have been used to sailing past Dittisham. We should have stayed in the beautiful village way before now. Unfortunately there are no more weeks available at Primrose Cottage, so best wishes to all the lucky ones in 2021. Christopher and Lesley. Gloucestershire.

Beautiful location

It is a beautiful location. We loved the view of the orchard garden and Dittisham from the french windows. The well stocked village shop is only a couple of minutes walk away too. We found changing programmes on the TV difficult to negotiate, and couldn't work out how to download the subtitles option I need. Some instructions would be helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much, and would like to return sometime in the future.
