The Overlook a Ă©tĂ© conçu par un architecte et offre une vue imprenable sur la mer de la Manche. Il y a deux grandes chambres doubles, toutes les deux avec des douches et des portes donnant sur un balcon sĂ©parĂ© orientĂ© au sud et donnant sur la mer. Il y a une autre chambre double et une salle de bains familiale. Le salon ouvert a des portes-fenĂȘtres menant Ă  une deuxiĂšme terrasse avec table et siĂšges. Le Overlook a Ă©tĂ© meublĂ© selon des normes Ă©levĂ©es et bĂ©nĂ©ficie d'un grand parking extĂ©rieur.

Il est situĂ© Ă  seulement quelques minutes Ă  pied du centre de Ventnor, une station balnĂ©aire victorienne dotĂ©e d'immeubles de caractĂšre. En plus de la rue commerçante principale oĂč vous trouverez une sĂ©lection de petits supermarchĂ©s comprenant une coopĂ©rative et le Tesco Express, vous trouverez des parcs et des jardins, des musĂ©es et les Winter Gardens, lieu de divertissement rĂ©putĂ© pour son thĂ©Ăątre, ses concerts, spectacles de comĂ©die et de danse et bien sĂ»r le restaurant / bar. La cĂ©lĂšbre pĂȘche Ventnor Haven Ă  The Marina vend les prises quotidiennes de poisson frais et de fruits de mer; des excursions en bateau sont Ă©galement disponibles Ă  partir d'ici.

Il y a un certain nombre d'excellents restaurants Ă  Ventnor, notamment Tramezzini, The Ale & Oyster et le Smoking Lobster, pour n'en nommer que quelques-uns. Le cĂ©lĂšbre pub Spyglass se trouve juste au bord de la mer et il y a de trĂšs bons cafĂ©s et cafĂ©s; Les salons de thĂ© et le salon de thĂ© Lady Scarlett (avec la thĂ©matique des annĂ©es 1940) sont les favoris. Ou si vous avez envie de plats Ă  emporter sur la plage, le Ventnor Haven Fishery sur l'Esplanade vend de fantastiques fish & chips, pĂȘchĂ©s localement et prĂ©parĂ©s Ă  la commande.

Le jardin botanique Ventnor est situĂ© dans le microclimat remarquable au cƓur du cĂ©lĂšbre «Undercliff». Ce jardin unique est protĂ©gĂ© des vents froids du nord par duvet de craie. Fabulous views

Everything was great but particularly the views which were wonderful to wake up to. Everything needed was supplied and washing machine/dryer was a bonus to save washing when you got home. Loved it so much we are going back next year.

This accommodation is stunning. There is everything you need. Parking for 2 cars, which very useful because the area is very narrow & busy with cars. It's quite a walk from Ventnor, up hill but the views truly make up for it.

The Overlook June 2025

The lovely weather ensured that we had a good stay for our first visit to the Isle if Wight. Spacious and comfy property, but there is a tricky turn into the property's road from the main road. View from the property over Ventnor is fabulous; needs to be seen to appreciate this comment. Well equipped kitchen, however a tray to carry drinks onto the balcony would be a useful addition.

Fab house for a week on the Island

The property was light and airy. We loved the space and open plan area and the outside areas. Everything had been done to a high spec, the kitchen was well equipped and the bathrooms were good with powerful showers.

Stunning stay - beautiful view and fabulous home.

Stayed with my mum and dad and 5 year old daughter. This house is incredible!! Waking up to a view of the ocean is my favourite thing and this home had views in abundance. Easy walk to beach (not so easy back up) great restaurants and facilities and good place to explore the rest of the island. I highly recommend!

Lovely clean, midern & spacious accommodation with fabulous views of Ventnor and ocean beyond. Good and helpful information about property, services, helplines within property. A good base to explore from. Lovely balcony areas to sit and relax.

Overlook is comfortable and well equipped. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Steps from lounge are major trip hazard and shower trays too. This was mentioned in visitors book many times.

A cracking property with views to die for

Spacious well maintained property on the hill overlooking Ventnor. Three good sized bedrooms with open plan kitchen-dining-living which had very large panoramic windows giving excellent views over the town and the sea. Good parking although the entry road is a little narrow. All appliances easy to understand - had an issue with the dishwasher which was reported and hopefully fixed for future guests.

A delightful week in the Overlook

Three generations of our family spent a most enjoyable week in the Overlook, which is very comfortable, clean, well maintained and well appointed. The views are amazing. Ventnor is quite quaint and picturesque and a good place from which to tour the island. Blinds above the main window in the second bedroom would be helpful, as the light was streaming in very early. Also blinds in the lounge would reduce the heat building up on warm days. Otherwise a great place to stay.

A very special place.

We love the IOW, we love Ventnor, and we love The Overlook. So much so, that we keep going back. The first thing I'll mention is the cleanliness. We're a bit fussy about cleanliness, and more than once the lack of it has stopped us returning to otherwise wonderful properties. The Overlook is always reliably spotless. This is thanks to the cleaner/s, so I hope they are appreciated for their contribution. Very well equipped, The Overlook has everything six people could ever need to enjoy a wonderful holiday, including three balconies to choose from, all with stunning 180 degree views of the sea. We love it.

Stunning Views from a Well Appointed Home

This place was amazing, 3 big bedrooms (2 en suite), large living area with modern kitchen with stunning views out to sea. Ample parking and outside space provided a great base to search the island. The place was clean and well appointed with pretty much everything you could need on arrival. There are only a three or four steps to bedrooms/front door inside the property which was ideal for our parents. The place is furnished in a modern style, we especially appreciated the artwork in the living areas and purchased from the same local artists. The only criticism would be the TV set up, I work for a tech company and I was at a loss on how to just watch TV, with 6 remotes all manner of stuff plugged in this was the most confusing set up I’ve ever seen, Apple TV would be a much more simplified option. That said it certainly did not detract from what was a wonderful holiday accommodation.

We had a good week at the Overlook. The accommodation was to a high standard with lovely views and plenty of balconies to enjoy. We had mixed weather but on the warm sunny days it's just nice to relax outside on one of the chairs or sun loungers. The bedrooms were lovely and spacious and the family bathroom, the bath was fab. Some shelves in the showers might be a useful idea ? The kitchen was well equipped although we took a while to work out how to use some of the built in appliances. The coffee maker was a great idea although hadn't been cleaned before we arrived. We made use of the washing machine and tumble dryer but, again, found the filter for the tumble dryer to be fairly clogged with dust/fabric. One bit I was a bit disappointed in was, after travelling to get there, it would have been a nice thought to leave a "welcome pack" with some milk and tea/coffee. Just a small niggle but would have meant not having to find a local shop after unpacking. Otherwise, a really good holiday home and one I'd consider using again. Would recommend

Stunning property and views.

When you walk into The Overlook, it certainly delivers the Wow Factor. The huge windows, offering panoramic views, simply blew us all away. Overall, the accommodation is excellent. It is immaculately clean (apart from the pillows, which unfortunately were heavily stained). It is very comfortable and well equipped. It offers everything you need for a family holiday or a group of friends. We stayed as a group of six. There is enough space so that you can spread out and have some privacy, or get together in the comfortable lounge or large dining area. There are even three well furnished sun terraces to sit out on and enjoy those views. One couple reported that the bed in the second room was too firm, but everyone else found the beds to be very comfy. We did have a few equipment failures during our stay. The dish washer leaked and couldn't be used. The Washing machine would only wash in steaming hot water. The boiler went into fault mode on our last day. These things can happen so we did not stress over it. However, the response from the maintenance team was disappointing, in that nobody came to fix any of these issues, despite the first two being reported on Wednesday. I am informed that these issues were all being looked at and steps taken to improve the response. Overall though, we had a wonderful holiday at The Overlook and we have booked to go again next year. I can't wait!

Steps in the cottage were not visibly clear they mingled into the lower floor which caused a bad fall needing medical intervention. Difficulty with patio and folding doors in bedroom. Could not get TV to work. Dish washer and washing machine did not work and had to be repaired.

One of the best properties we've stayed in

An absolutely delightful property, certainly somewhere we would rent again. The rooms were spacious, and comfortable, and everything was well maintained and clean. The highlight was the huge windows in the open-plan lounge area with views across the English Channel.

👍Great apartment 👎Need listening from different holidaymakers over en-suite with safe wet mats and shelf in showers also too small hand wash basin which unsuitable for wash faces or teeth clean! And there are hazard invisible steps in apartment.

Super house

The Overlook definitely has the wow factor. It was spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. The location is perfect for watching the shipping heading to and from the Solent. There are some good pubs and restaurants in Ventnor (the Spyglass, Crab and Lobster Tap and Smoking Lobster) but be aware that the town is built on a hill and the walk from the town centre is steep.

Wonderful accommodation

The Overlook is certainly a lovely holiday home. We enjoyed a wonderful stay, the views are amazing. The accommodation was spotless and was well equipped with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. After days out walking it was good to return to a relaxing environment. I would definitely recommend The Overlook and would like to return in the future.

House is lovely and comfortable with all the comforts of home and more. Would note that the main bedroom could do with an opening window as no-one is going to sleep with bi-folding doors open and it is very warm. Also shower in that bathroom opens the wrong way, so impossible to turn it on before going in. Just a couple of thoughts
