My spouse and I travelled to Rovinj with our 3 kids (8, 10, and 12). We were deciding between staying in Pula or Rovinj, and after visiting Pula for an afternoon we definitely made the right choice! Rovinj has one of the most pleasant old city centers that I've been too, and it also has beautiful rocky beaches that are not too crowded.
This apartment has a great location that was in between the downtown and the beaches - we could walk anywhere we wanted to go in 10-30 minutes, depending on the destination. We did have a rental car, which we were easily able to park at this apartment, but as long as you could take a bus or a taxi with your luggage to arrive and leave, I do not think you would need a car while you are in Rovinj from this apartment. It was nice to be able to take a day trip to Pula, but you could do that via bus, I'm sure.
The apartment itself is pretty simple, so if you want luxury accommodations then look elsewhere. But for this price we had 5 people sleep here and it worked well! The internet was spotty in the bedrooms, so that made it a little challenging at times, but it did work in the kitchen and living/dining room.
The owner/host, Jovanka, was very sweet and nice. The property managers were very responsive via WhatsApp. Overall, I'd strongly recommend coming to Rovinj and staying in this place for its walkable location to both the city center and the beaches (walk through the park to the further beach locations... they are less crowded)!
