We can only describe this place as idyllic. Forest on one side, horses on the other and meadows below the stream that runs through the bottom of the garden. Wildlife thrives here. You may discover mink, otters, owls, hawks, herons, crayfish and more. The surroundings make it the perfect place to relax after a day of mountain hiking!
Mossy Rock is a cozy suite on the lower level of our 4100 sf Villa on the hillside of Ryder Lake, BC.
The cozy suite takes up half of the garden level of the house. We reside in the other half and the top floor. We are two adult couples and two small dogs
The 20 x 40 foot pool is an oasis during the summer heat waves! (The pool and it's hot tub are closed October 1st to May long weekend) The second hot tub is under the sundeck, overlooking the property with mountain views is always available, heated year round!
The barbeque and dining table are under the cover of the sun deck, near the hot tub, for those rainy days of autumn.

A perfect mountain break

The place is amazing. You wake up to mountain views, can soak in the hot tub and then go for a walk and just slow down. Great getaway to reset from fast paced city life. Very spacious and has all amenities

Staycation families dream about!

This property is amazing! Views from the pool and jacuzzi will have you believing you’re in your own private park. The gorgeous flowers, greenery and Mountain View’s are breathtaking. The outdoor seating poolside with the bbq is awesome for summer cooking. The inside suite is well equipped for multiple guests. The hosts are amazing. Always available, but never intrusive. A true home away from home!

Mountain View Bliss

My wife and I and our kids (9 & 3) absolutely loved our stay. Paul and Carola were gracious and accommodating hosts. The home and grounds are stunning. To top it off my daughter was in heaven in the gorgeous pool. The area is beautiful mountainous farmland with nearby trails, lakes and parks. We will definitely be returning.

Wonderful, quiet nature setting with a beautiful view of the mountain. The pool was refreshing . We barbecued and just enjoyed some summer lounging. The suite remains cool inside even when hot outside. Looking forward to next years stay.

Awesome vacation

Our stay at Carola's place was absolutely amazing. The suite was so spacious and fully equipped with everything we could every need. The pool and hottub was beautiful and very much enjoyed by everyone in our group. The view overlooking the country side and mountains was never tiring. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing getaway if you need a break from your routine. Carola and Paul are great hosts and respond instantly to any questions or requests. Would not hesitate to stay here again if we return to the Chilliwack area

An oasis for city folk!

Property was beautiful! Peaceful. All the amenities you can think of. Kitchen had absolutely everything, lots of towels and linens. Most comfortable stay in a vacation rental I’ve ever had. Hosts were kind and helpful with whatever we needed. Will book longer next time!

Perfect place for a family getaway.

We had a fantastic time at Carola’s home. The space was perfect for our family and two dogs. Tons of property to explore and run around. Carola was super prompt with communication and making sure we had everything we needed. We will be keeping this place earmarked for future trip.

Peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle

We were in the area visiting our parents and needed a quiet place to come back to in the early evening to unwind, this was the perfect place. It was a very rainy week, but the setting and situation of this property is beautiful rain or shine, and the acreage provided a wonderful area for our 4 legged friend to walk and run right out the door. It was very quiet and peaceful, a cozy place to relax and get away from it all. Everything we needed was there in the unit, cable tv is not available but there is dvd movies, and my iPad worked good, which we discovered was all we really needed and enhanced the stay more with the peace and quiet. Beautiful fall colours on the drive to this retreat!

Ryder Lake - Chilliwack

While we enjoyed our stay, there were a few things that we weren't thrilled about. In the VRBO description it never described that they are way up in the mountain, which really is not too bad, but should we had known we wouldn't have carried our bikes for nothing as it is not adequate for going for bike rides. The Wi-fi was spotty at best and there was no accessibility for streaming movies, should we had know we would have brought blue -rays to watch. The seating arrangements were very uncomfortable as there was only one love seat. There was a sofa bed but it was in the big room where the king size bed is which is also where a twin bed is located, not great sleeping arrangements when there are 5 adults. The big bedroom is shared. In relation to peace and quiet, most definitely is very serene and peaceful. When it came to using the pool and jacuzzi we needed to ask for it to be opened every single time ( a bit inconvenient if the owners were not around, I mean they were around most of the time but you needed to ask)

Perfect Stay

We wanted to spend a day at the waterslides at Cultus Lake and then have some family over the next day for the first time since covid. Our stay was absolutely perfect for both! It was a short drive to the waterslides and the yard was perfect for the get together. A pool, hot tub, lots of space, a volley ball net, a creek, horses next door.. What an amazing place, inside and out, ⁴and amazing hosts. We can't wait to go back again!
