This charming apartment is in a cute neighborhood, so close to everything and right up the street from the water!Great space, nicely furnished and decorated. Thoughtful amenities. Highly recommended!
Allyson keeps a very well maintained house in a nice neighborhood by the Eastern Promenade. Looks just like the pictures online. We had a little trouble with the lock (user error on my part), but she came right over to help us out. We were in the second floor unit of the duplex - there is also a third floor unit. The stairs are difficult with heavy suitcases (not Allysonâs fault, just something to be aware of). There is a great finer (The Front Room) about 3 blocks from the house. The Eastern Promenade is a few blocks. And Old Port is a short Uber ride away. Weâd stay there again.
Great location in PortlandâŠwalk almost everywhere!
We had a great stay on Munjoy Hill! Our place was very comfortable and located near all the things we wanted to do. The neighborhood is hilly so wear comfortable shoes. We were on the second floor and you have to be able to navigate stairs with suitcases and bags. Street parking was easy to find and available close to the property.
Stay in a quiet neighborhood just steps away from the Eastern Promenade
We thoroughly enjoyed this place. The apartment is in a great location in a quiet neighborhood that has small markets, and dining, and historical sites. It is an easy walk to downtown and to the port. We were fortunate to meet Alysson. The only thing I would change is perhaps offering shower gel in the bath. We would love to travel to Portland again and would gladly stay here again.
We were beyond impressed with this rental. Incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated and absolutely spotless! It was a pleasure to take the scenic walk from downtown to come back to this cozy unit. The owner, Allyson, adds extra touches like bathroom toiletries and local information to enhance the stay. We will absolutely return to this jewel.
The apartment is clean and comfortable with lovely decorations and plenty of space. A nice little balcony over the backyard was a wonderful place to relax. We could easily walk to both the East Promenade and into downtown Portland. We would have liked advanced notice that the laundry was coin operated so we could have planned to bring quarters.
Apt clean and well equipped. Could use additional instructions regarding the TV and use of door locks. You have to be very aware of noise due to above/below. I was missing a few throws on the couch. The listing implies walking to shops etc. we found it to be more residential than anticipated. Rained 2 full days. Can you do something about that?đ€Ł
Allyson is a wonderful host! We loved our stay at her beautiful home, very close to the Eastern Promenade. Great location! We will definitely stay there again!
Allyson is a great host: super responsive and made everything easy. She accommodated my request for unscented linens and cleaners, so the apartment smelled clean, not like perfumed petroleum. It's a middle-floor unit, much more spacious than the pictures show, with a back porch off one of the bedrooms. It's on a quiet street, a 5 minute walk from the Eastern Prom harbor view and from coffee and bakeries on Congress Street. We loved our stay and will return!
Perfect location close to Eastern Promenade. Host was very attentive to any questions or concerns. The house was super cute & clean. Definitely would stay again! Thank you!
Our party of three adults was delighted with our accommodations. The apartment was immaculately clean, up-to-date and very comfortable. It was an easy walk to the East Promenade, and other parts of Portland were easy to get to from its location. I would certainly and happily stay there again.
This is a wonderful space, walking distance or a quick car ride to just about everything you need to see in Portland. Allyson was very accommodating with anything we needed. I would recommend this space for anyone.
This is a 5 star place definitely. It just worked out that we did not have heat the first night because it had been so hot the previous days, but the night we arrived it was about 50 degrees. The pilot light for the heater hadnât been turned on so the place was very cold the first night. Bonus though is there is a really nice heater in the back bedroom and heated bathroom floors. Once the heat was turned on the second day the place was essentially perfect. Allyson is great and the location is wonderful. Wish we could stay longer!
Really loved staying at Allysonâs apartment. It was extremely clean and full of everything we needed for our stay. It is within walking distance of Downtowns Portland as well as right up the block from the Eastern Promenade which has cute food trucks, running paths, tennis courts and a park. Loved it and really hope to return!

Would definitely stay again!
The apartment offered a great location, walking distance from many restaurants and activities. We also enjoyed the comfortable accommodations and outdoor living space.
Just got back from a girls weekend and can't say enough about how much we loved this place. It was perfect for us. The location was a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to the Eastern Prom, where we went to walk in the morning and spent an afternoon laying on a blanket relaxing in the sun. There was a huge playground there for families with children. Also several cute restaurants close by and a nice market with a little deli. The neighborhood kind of reminded us of Cambridge. When we didn't want to walk everything was a short uber ride away.
One thing we all commented on was how it was so clean, and we loved the decor. Very relaxing and welcoming. Kitchen was also well stocked. Really, this place was the best. We all agreed we would love to come back and stay again even with our families. It would be perfect for a relaxing weekend away with friends or with children.
My friends and I stayed here as basically "base camp" for day trips in the area. Even the day trip to Acadia and Bar Harbor was not a bad drive. The place is LOVELY and makes you feel like you are at home. It is so close to walks on the Eastern Promenade to start your day, and a nice walk at night along the ocean. It is also very close to highways that will take you any direction you are going. Our last night there we sat around the fire pit she has in the backyard to have a glass of wine, then we got to spend some time with Allyson just chatting. She is soooo nice and a great host. I will definitely be back and would recommend this rental to anyone who is going to the Portland area.
Met an old college roommate in Portland for a girls' reunion and could not have been more delighted with this apartment. It was extremely well laid out with two bedrooms and beautiful new tiled bathroom. Everything was spotless and so welcoming. Having coffee/tea in the morning on the little back porch was lovely. We could walk to the water and all the way into the Old Port and the many stores and shops in Portland. Walked to the ferry one morning and went over to Peakes Island to shop and have lunch on the water. Don't miss this special place in a quiet neighborhood, close to everything!
Recently renovated, charmingly furnished 2 bdrm just up the hill from Old Port
Fist time renting via VRBO and I'd be ecstatic if future trips went half as smooth. Fiance and I wanted to share the Portland culinary scene with some friends who had never been. Rolled up to the property on Friday afternoon with no key exchange necessary thanks to the digital coded door locks. Got to briefly meet the owner Allyson who was very friendly, accommodating and even gave us a couple restaurant recommendations nearby in the neighborhood. Free off/on street parking was no problem. 2nd floor apt was bright, airy, clean and actually looked better in person than the photos.
*Pro-tip* Be sure to call dibs on the back bedroom off the kitchen as it opens up to a small deck overlooking the neatly landscaped backyard. Nice spot to chill with a drink after a long day of walking around Portland.
There is a waterfront park just steps from the house in one direction and in the opposite direction, a 1 mile walk downhill thru the Munjoy neighborhood will put you right in the heart of Old Port.
I'd been to Portland several times but had only stayed in hotels downtown. Staying in this Munjoy hill area allowed us to discover some cool spots that the locals enjoy like Front room, Lolita's and Urban fermentation farm which we would otherwise not have.
Overall, from the perspective of someone who has stayed in a lot of hotels in a lot cities over the years, this was a great experience! Also worth mentioning that it's reasonably priced for what you are getting compared to nicer hotels in the area.
TLDR
Really nice, clean 2bdrm with gracious owner in a great location for a visit to Portlandđ
The property was pristine. Plenty of parking and easy access. 3 blocks away from a scenic ocean front park with plenty of recreational space. We will be coming back over the summer for round 2. Thanks Allyson for your hospitality!

Born and raised in Scarborough, Maine, by a Farmer ~Fisherman Family. So excited to share my home with folks from around the world! Portland has changed so much over the years - we have so much to offer. Farm to Table Restaurants, Day Boat Lobster adventures, tour the islands off Casco Bay or just take a stroll a block to sit on the Eastern Promenade to enjoy the view.
Located in the heart of Munjoy Hill, walking distance to the Old Port shopping, restaurants and the Eastern Prom- you can not go wrong being in this quiet neighborhood. With access to a private back yard, private deck it is a little hidden gem.
You have the opportunity to rent 2 floors to accommodate 8 guests with 4 Queen Beds , 2 baths, 2 kitchens and private back yard and decks. Just ask me how!
