Locations de vacances Ederline Estate

Un chalet est situé dans un magnifique endroit isolé surplombant le Loch Awe. Il a deux chambres à l'étage, une double / super king et une double. Une grande chambre super-king / twin en bas. La salle de bain est en bas avec une grande douche à l'italienne, lavabo, lave-linge / sèche-linge et WC.
Un grand salon / salle à manger est complet avec TV écran plat / DVD et station d'accueil. Un grand poêle à bois avec des ventilateurs est un merveilleux fournisseur de chaleur le soir. Tous les journaux sont fournis, certains peuvent devoir être fendus avec une hache.
La cuisine a un lave-vaisselle, micro-ondes, réfrigérateur / congélateur et tout l'équipement dont vous auriez besoin.
Des meubles de jardin et un barbecue mobile sont fournis à l'extérieur.
Ce chalet n'a pas de wifi que les clients adorent, mais les mobiles Vodaphone fonctionnent bien partout.
Autour du chalet, une faune abondante et des cerfs rouges peuvent être vus en train de brouter dans la véranda le soir.

Perfect relaxation

Another beautiful stay at Finchairn. We are already counting down the days to our October visit. The most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on combined with stunning views and a cosy wood burner make for absolute bliss.

Stunning location

Finchairn cottage is set in a stunning location the views are amazing and it’s so quiet and peaceful. The cottage inside is very cosy with a lovely wood burner, the conservatory is great for having your meals as so much to look at outside. The Ederline Estate team are on call if you need anything and are the most friendliest people you could ever meet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back for another holiday.

Lovely get away from it all cottage

We love our holidays at Finchairn Cottage on the Ederline Estate. Peace and quiet in a beautiful location with wonderful views of Loch Awe. The cottage is very comfortable with everything you need to make your stay perfect. Enjoy lovely walks, wildlife watching, and sheep watching directly from the cottage, or just sit and relax in the conservatory or garden. So much to do in the local area too. The Crinan Canal is picturesque, Kilmartin Glen is fascinating, and lots of beautiful woodland walks to be found. Plenty of pretty villages to visit where there's always a welcome at a café for lunch or find a local pub for great evening meals. The owners and staff at Ederline are always so friendly and welcoming, it really is a perfect holiday.

Finchairn Cottage

Lovely setting, beautiful views, great walks. Unfortunately somewhat outdated. When the weather turned foul, water pulled into conservatory. On the plus side, Angus was very accommodating.

We were sorry this cottage did not fill all your wishes and were sad to get a negative review as we try so hard to make our guests visit to Ederline Estate a memorable one. Finchairn Cottage is a very remote and set on a hillside commanding the most spectacular views but with this comes the problem when we have a gale and heavy rain it is exposed and the water will come under the door. We have tried many different types of weather shield guards but Mother Nature cannot be stopped on these rare occasions! I say rare as the gale has to be coming from the direction that hits the entrance door and we only have winds like this a few times a year. We have updated the cottage this year and put in a brand new kitchen, bathroom, beds and a new log burner. This cottage has no wifi due to the remoteness but has good Vodaphone reception and guests love it this way as they can get away from it all!

Best Possible Place for Escape!

This trip was our third stay at Ederline Estate, and all three have included time at Finchairn. When extended family have come with us, we've also stayed at The South Lodge and at Clachandubh Cottage. While all of the guest houses have been excellent (well maintained, nicely stocked kitchens, good shower facilities), Finchairn is our very favorite. Nothing can beat the view of Loch Awe from the sun porch, the quiet of the hillside, and the incredible nature walks you can take from here. The light changes the way the loch looks all day long--truly a magical spot for relaxing and disconnecting from the stresses of life. Finchairn's three bedrooms provide plenty of room for 6 people, and the recently remodeled bathroom is very good. The kitchen is well designed, and the fireplace (including generous wood supply!) makes for a perfect spot in the evenings. We can count on everything being clean and in nice shape when we arrive. On the estate, you have miles of nature walking. Make sure to go up into the hills to see all the lochs! Plenty of activities are within easy reach from Ederline, including groceries, restaurants, and shops in Lochgilphead just a short drive away, and don't miss the wonderful history in and surrounding Kilmartin. For a day trip, Oban is within easy reach and is reached by a beautiful winding drive. Willa and Angus are exceptional hosts and have made us feel so welcome and at-home each time we've stayed. We would highly recommend Ederline in general and Finchairn in particular to friends and relatives.

Lovely Finchairn

We have stayed on the Ederline Estate 3 times now, twice in finchairn cottage. This is a lovely remote cottage with a wonderfully equipped kitchen and cosy open fire. The views are stunning what ever the weather, and. Much time is spent in the conservatory staring out the window. The kids love the wide open spaces, the near by beaches and scrambling up hills. In fact they would spend a whole day at carsaig bay, crabbing , in the dinghy and jumping off the jetty when the tide comes in. Then back to the cosy cottage where they can get comfy and warm and fed. The cairnbaan hotel has a lovely restaurant also Kilmartin Hotel, Great fish and chips in Oban or Lochgilphead . This is a wonderful place to holiday and an amazing place to explore. The coast line on this west side is stunning and there's easy access to the Isles via Oban ferries. We will return to finchairn as often as possible.

A delightful cottage in a outstanding location.

A delightful cottage with everything you need, and more ,for a very comfortable stay in an exceptional location. The cottage was clean, the beds extremely comfortable and the views all around were spectacular. The owners were very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.Our days were filled with outdoor adventures; rock jumping, canoeing,fishing and walking. Our nights were by the open fire followed by some of the best night's sleep I have ever had!

Idyllic place to stay in every respect

This was the 4th year returning for a holiday at Finchairn and this year for 3 weeks! Bliss! This is a very cosy cottage which has been well adapted and equipped. The conservatory has a wonderful view of Loch Awe with the ever changing colours and shadows. On cooler evenings there is a hearth and fire with logs provided. There are many walks on the Estate and surrounding countryside much appreciated by us and our dog! Anyone interested in history, there is much to see; from castles to the wonderful Kilmartin museum just up the road who also do great food. The local food is delicious to either cook at the cottage or there is a good choice of local eating places not far away. The owners are so pleasant and helpful with any queries you may have. There is also a good visitor's book in the cottage with good tips and it is clear people return, like us, frequently! I've already booked for 2016. Just go, you'll love it!

Idyllic setting

The cottage is lovely and the location is amazing. We were given some brilliant info on where to take our boat and allowed to launch from the field onto the loch, thank you. The only criticism I had about the cottage, which I felt let it down quite badly was that the mattresses on the beds were old and thin and lumpy. And the sofas and chairs in the sitting room are old, the springs in them were saggy and they are not at all comfortable. Fantastic morning clay pigeon shooting lesson and a fab meal out at the Crinnan Hotel, both recommended by you, thank you.

Many thanks for your review. I am sorry you found the beds lumpy and the sofa uncomfortable? The double bed is from John Lewis and was put in last year. The two twin rooms I have re looked at and cannot see the problem but will be asking all our guests this week and if they feel there is a problem I will have to replace them. Many apologies for this. The sofa and chairs we have all sat on and I cannot see where it is uncomfortable. But again we will be asking this weeks guests and next if they find it a problem and if so they will have to be replaced. Thanks again for your comments, as we do not sleep or live there you need to be aware of any problems.

I was born in Lochgilphead and have spent a large part of my childhood in Argyll. I am married to Angus and have three children. We took over the estate from my father in 2003. It is a fantastic way of life which we love to share with our guests and help them to see the best of the area. There is too much to do and see in a week but once you have been you will want to return!

I took over the estate from my father ten years ago and count myself so lucky to have the opportunity to care for the cottages and farming business in the most stunning part of the world. A perfect retreat to get away from the busy life that most of us lead. Ederline is a tonic to be consumed regardless of season.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Finchairn Cottage is located in a quiet location up a mile long private drive. It is a traditional shepherds cottage and we have tried to maintain its character while up grading the property to create 'Home from Home'
All our guests are truly blown away by the view and location of Finchairn Cottage.
