A warm and inviting waterside home with amazing views over to the Isle of Mull. Situated in an area of natural beauty with access to the water via the slipway for kayak enthusiasts. Jump on the ferry to Luing where you can cycle, walk or drive around the island and enjoy the photographic opportunities of the abundant wildlife. Relax in the conservatory where you can watch the Cuan Sound traffic battle the ever changing tides. Witness the fishing boats off loading their catch of lobster, scallops and langoustines. The garden is in the process of being "wilded" but there is an area for sitting and eating outside. It has various visitors from deer to Highland Cows.

This delightful house provided everything we could have wished for. Extremely comfortable and in impeccable, very tasteful modern decor I could have spent days simply soaking in the views across to Luing and Mull. However we ventured forth and discovered so much about our own country
This is the best place I have stayed at in a very long time. The house and its position were the perfect recipe for the perfect holiday. Couldnât recommend staying here enough. Highly recommended it.
Great appartment with stunning views. We could even observe seals from the living room. Hiking, boat trips, kayaking, bike hire would have been possible. We walked on the isle of south cuan and had two amazing boat trips from Ellenabeich.
Some times when you book a place to stay for a week with friends you are taking a bit of a leap of faith hoping that the location, environment and " feel " will match what you imagine in your mind's eye. We were extremely pleased with the house, while not overly large, we never felt cramped. The front observatory room was constantly in use, for reading, chatting and watching the amazing tides. The furniture was great for lounging. While we intended to use this location to explore the Oban and surrounding area we only left the immediate area of North Cuan and Luing island once. Instead we took the opportunity to explore within 5 miles as we found there was more than enough to do. A great relaxing week, aided by friendly locals, amazing scenery, abundant wildlife and some friendly ferry dogs.
The house itself was nicely decorated and well laid out, with enough room for the 4 of us to spread out. (In fact we contacted our hosts, who were great by the way, about sourcing some of the wall art to find out that our host made them).
Our hosts left us a stocked welcome basket and unlike some rentals, little extras like a full jar of coffee, sugar and tea plus extra rolls of toilet paper and other little necessities which reduced the need to head to a store to get.
The photos do not do justice to the area. Thank you J and C for assisting us when the need arose.
Fantastic is the only way to describe this property. Really comfortable house with everything we could have wanted for self catering. The welcome hamper was such a treat and the views are just breath taking. We came to visit Mull, which wasnt that great, so being located here near Oban was perfect. So much do to and see walking wise. Islands, forests. We even saw otters and seals from the conservatory window! Cannot rate highly enough!
The property is absolutely lovely in every detail. The house has been recently refurbished, and everything is beautifully decorated and equipped. We were two couples and had plenty of space and privacy for an 11-day trip.
We were fortunate enough to be able to recently spend a few weeks at this property. The house has 3 bedrooms, kitchen and sitting room all of which are beautifully decorated, but the main attraction is the conservatory where we sat for hours watching the sunset, wildlife, tides and comings and goings of the local ferry. The location is stunning, and a short drive to the old slate village of Ellenabeich, boat tours, and a couple of really good restaurants. Highly recommend!
My husband and I are both retired and enjoy splitting our time between this house by the sea and our home. We both love sailing especially on the West Coast.
The property has a unique position on the waterfront and has recently been renovated to a simple but high standard providing a comfortable and inviting ambience both in summer and winter. The situation is suitable for both active sporty holidays or just relaxing watching the everyday life in the comfort of the conservatory. The garden is going through a 'wilding' process at the moment and has regular visitors of deer, hedgehogs, pine martins to name a few.
This is a very popular area for photographers, walkers, cyclists but is best known for its kayaking opportunities and you can either take part or enjoy the more comfortable sport of spectating from the warmth of the conservatory. There is a lovely pub called the Oyster Bar about 3 miles away in Ellenabeich which serves great food and also the Tigh 'n Trish Hotel at the Atlantic bridge serves food. The area is served by a local shop at Balvicar where you can find everything from local meats and fish products to everyday essentials. There are also several boat trips available to book nearby.
