This small hotel is conveniently located close to the main attractions of the European side of Istanbul. The rooms are small, but our family of four were able to stay there comfortably. I’d really like to praise the staff – particularly the receptionist, Ibrahim. He helped us find our way around the city and recommended several interesting historical sites off the beaten track, an affordable supermarket and a restaurant serving good local cuisine.

Abdalah was very professional and took good care of us. He guided us about tours etc and booked it for us. Service was excellent and room was clean and hotel is close to all major attractions. I would stay there again. 👍

The hotel is central to many of the big sites in Istanbul. It’s attached to a travel agency. The reception desk staff is very helpful. Room itself was ok. There was black mold in the bathroom however and women’s hair on the towels and kitchen sponge. Could have been cleaner.

Loved our stay at this hotel. The host was amazing, friendly, and took care of all requests we had. They offer tours at good prices as well but we unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to take advantage of that. We stayed for five nights and our room was cleaned and sheets were replaced everyday. The only downside was that the bathroom sink was a bit small and the placement of the toilet was cramped. But once we got adjusted to that in a day, everything was completely fine The hotel was difficult for us to find on the first day with Google Maps' directions, but the overall location of the hotel is in a very good place. Within just 10-20 mins is Aya Sofya, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and many other museums. The T1 tram used to access many areas was only 5 minutes away. We loved our time in Istanbul because of how easy it was to access everything, with our hotel being a great starting point. Prices for food and snacks were lower and fairer than in the main streets.

I stayed at the Capricorn Apartments for 2 nights with two friends and we really liked it - for the excellent value, Istanbul was generally expensive and this apartment was a great deal. The small apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed, including a small efficiency kitchen. Abdalah at the front desk spoke perfect english and was easy to understand and super responsive and helpful in booking sunset cruise, taxi service and anything we needed. The location can be a little hard to find, with small streets that appeared to be very often blocked by delivery trucks and we had to walk up a few flights of stairs (so anyone who isn't quite mobile may have a harder time here but we thought it was great). It's a short walk from the main area of SultanAhmed and close to the Grand Bazaar. we would definitely stay again. thanks.

Decent rooms

Pros: excellent location: walking distance from major historical sites, shops, restaurants… Cons: streets can be noisy at night as well as other customers. The toilet flush was broken but managed. It is not easy to access the hotel as the streets are stiff. I had an unpleasant first encounter upon my arrival for check in to discover that the room they tried to give me wasn’t what I booked on hotels.com they tried to give me a basement room while the one I booked was with view. They ended up giving me the room on the 5th floor which I booked on the website as if it was an act of kindness.

Kitchen was fully equipped. Had several restaurants walking distance. The grand bazaar is about a 12 minute walk away. Several great shopping options on the side streets walking up the hill to the grand bazaar that are way cheaper with same products. There is a grocery store in the same street 2 minutes away walking. Fresh fruit and vegetables available. There isn't an elevator so if you have a lot of luggage consider booking the first floor suite. Very convenient. The front desk clerk or male housekeeping staff will carry up to other floors. Doesn't have traditional comforter so room was a bit cold. Does have heater but didn't really warm up enough. So depending on your time of year to visit you may need heavy pajamas.

I had a pleasant 5-day stay in Capricorn. For a very reasonable amount, I had a large room, refrigerator, microwave, hot plate and strong internet. Water pressure was good. There are a number of grocery stores nearby so you can shop and prepare your own food. The location allowed me to simply walk to tourist sites like Hagia Sophia, the former Hippodrome and the Sultan Ahmed mosque. Places a little more distant like Galata or Taksim Square can be reached via the T1 tram. The Cemberlitas stop is close by. There are, however, two things that travelers should note. From the Cemberlitas stop to Capricorn there is a very steep incline. This is manageable if just walking but was a challenge when I had my luggage with me. So if you have mobility limitations, this will not be the hotel for you. The second thing is that there are no elevators and there is only a narrow set of winding stairs. Again, this was manageable for me but may be difficult for others.

Highly recommend!

I'm loving it here so much that I've booked extended stay. The manager is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are lovely. The area is full of shops, restaurants and a park just around the corner. Easy walking distance to centre of Sultanahmet, but enough distance to be quiet here. I can't fault this place. There are also trips and tours available at reception. The cleaner comes in every day. She even washes any dishes I've not done from night before. I originally booked for 1 week to see if I like it. Now extended it to 3 so far. I love being able to cook for myself. The shower is amazing, almost gives me a massage, so soothing. It's on an incline but not too bad as I can manage it and I'm physically disabled. Everywhere else is flat walking in the surrounding area. I highly recommend this place. If I ever return to Istanbul I'd definitely be staying here again. The price is so reasonable for what it is. So glad I found this place! My pics are from first room. I'm in a larger one on ground floor now. Much easier to access without the stairs. But tbh, the stairs are not too bad.

Bu otele yorum yapanlar nasıl bu kadar iyi yorumlar yapmışlar gerçekten hayret ediyorum yani otel odası resimlerde ve fotoğraflarda göründüğü gibi hiç değil gerçekten berbat durumda yani Duşakabin eski ve pis duş alıyorsun fakat kenarlarından dışarıya su sızıyor kapakları zor kapanıyor lavabo desen el yıkama lavabosu yani altına bir silikon sıkmışlar silikon da kalın baştan sağma bir silikon fakat o silikon bile tutmamış lavabo çok yüksekte ayağını kaldıramıyorsun ve yerinden oynuyor altına da ahşaptan tekerlekli bir şey koymuşlar yani banyonun kapısı hele eski mutfak gibi bir şey var o zaten bir rezalet buzdolabı var içi leş gibi içinde ölmüş sinek vardı içine hiçbir şey koyamazsınız yani insanın midesi bulanır o mutfak dolapları içinde bulunan işte çatal kaşık herneyse zaten leş gibi bir koltuk var zaten simsiyah olmuş artık koltuğun rengi gitmiş yatak çarşafı desen zaten incecik bir şey sermişler alttaki yatak gözüküyor yani perdeler vesaireler deseniz Tüller zaten içler açısı yani bir de otelin ulaşımı rampa durumda. Otele gidip gelmek için çok dik bir rampa çıkmak zorundasınız Rampayı inip çıkmak zaten insanı öldürüyor ve baktığınızda varoş bir yerde yani sanki böyle her an bir karşınıza kapkaç çıkacakmış gibi veya yankesici çıkacakmış gibi öyle kötü bir yerde otelin zaten dıştan görünümü çok eski yani dediğim gibi fotoğraflarda göründüğü gibi hiç değil kesinlikle kalınacak bir otel değil verilen paraya yazık üçbeş kuruş daha fazla verin iyi bir otelde kalın. Çok geç giriş yapmamıza rağmen bir engelle karşılaşmadık, bina ve oda oldukça temizdi ancak banyo tuvalet kısmında revizyon gerektiren unsurlar mevcut, çok takıldığımız konular değil, biz sadece yatmak için kullandık, 4. yatağın hazır olması çarşafların ve yastık kılıflarının temiz olması, yatakların konforlu olması bize yetti, resepsiyondaki beyfendi güleryüzlü ve ilgiliydi, çok memnun kaldık ve sultan ahmet bölgesinde kalınacak en ekonomik odaydı.

Evet ilk etapta yabancı bı şehre geldiğimiz için biraz zor bulduk ama daha sonra çok memnun kaldık odamız çok temizdi ve bir ertesi gün tekrar temizlenmesi için bize soruldu ve istemedik güler yüzlü karsilandik ..odamız sessiz ve kimseden rahatsız olmadık kesinlikle tavsiye ederim rahat etmeniz için devasa paralar ödemenize gerek yok gayet burada rahat edebilirsiniz .,
