Casa Estrella in Surfside is a 4-bedroom, 4.5-bath beauty billed as a âZen Costa Rica Retreat.â It consists of a main house with three bedrooms and a private apartment with one.
The Space:
Our calming space features 4 bedroom suites and 4.5 baths to accommodate up to 9 guests. In the main house, the three bedrooms have one king and two queen beds, while in the apartment there is one king bed and a sofa bed. The main home has a large living room and open-concept kitchen area overlooking the beautiful pool and outdoor waterfall. There is also a full laundry room with granite countertops and a sink.
The main kitchen is a chefâs and entertainerâs dream space, all made from fine teak and covered in granite and marble details. Itâs complemented with all stainless steel appliances, a gas range and an oversized island that doubles as a breakfast counter. The kitchen is equipped with a large refrigerator, mini-fridge, ice dispenser, coffeemaker, microwave, oven, dishwasher, blender and more.
The two-story master suite is connected through the bar and barbecue space, and also has its own private entrance. The downstairs has a second full kitchen and living room space and also features a powder room. The teak staircase leads you upstairs to the master bedroom, where thereâs a king-size bed with reading niches, plus a working office space and a walk-in closet. The luxury master bath features a double vanity sink, grand mirrors, laundry, soaking tub and shower space.
Pet-friendly policy
We welcome your furry friends at our property! Before you book, each pet must be verified and approved based on breed and size (max 35 lbs.), accompanied by a recent photo. A refundable pet fee of $200 per stay, along with an additional cleaning fee of $50 + 13% per pet, is required to ensure our home remains pristine for all guests. We allow up to two pets per reservation. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times in public areas within the property grounds. Certain properties and complexes may have specific rules and registration requirements. Pets need to be verified at least 24 hours prior to check-in. If guests arrive at check-in with unverified pets, access to the property will be denied.
Owners are responsible for their pets' behavior and any damages incurred. Pets should not be left unattended within the property. For any questions or further details about our pet policy, feel free to contact us!

The Neighborhood:
Playa Potrero
Offering easy access to three beaches (Potrero, Penca and Prieta), this town combines upscale lodging options with the charm of a traditional Costa Rican town (think central plaza with church, school and soccer field).
There are plenty of restaurants, shops and other conveniences, and the downtown area has two mini supers (convenience stores), as well as a commercial plaza with a coffee shop, a hairdresser and other businesses.
Some of the liveliest nightlife in the region can be found at Las Brisas Bar, right on the beach, though itâs normally hopping only on Wednesdays (Ladiesâ Night).
Potrero has several nice housing developments with âVillagioâ in the name, popular among Italians and other expats. You can find Italian gelato shops, Costa Rican sodas (small, affordable restaurants) and hotels in a range of prices (Pitaya Lodge, BahĂa La Esmeralda, Hotel Isolina, BahĂa del Sol).
Just to the south of Potrero lie all the attractions of Surfside, and to the north is a beautiful, hilly drive along the ocean, ending at the Mediterranean-style village of Las Catalinas. Potrero is within easy striking distance of several beaches, and itâs a great base to explore the entire region â for a sampler of both the high-end and the humble.
Getting Around:
