Cosy, Comfortable, Rustic Cabin is stretching the description a little bit.
Pretty remote if that is what you are looking for and a long drive along an unsealed road.
We loved our stay, it was peaceful and quiet. Great location surrounded by pretty paddocks and countryside. Handy spot for day trips and sightseeing in the area. Lovely and friendly hosts.
The Catlins and surrounding coast are well worth a look in any extended NZ trip. Ray and Taniaâs cosy cabin was as described. Great hosts, Ray had great advice about what to see and do. A little gravel road for 7km to reach an isolated small rural town far away from the crowds. Clean. Excellent outdoor area with BBQ. Rustic cabin adjoining the main house with attached private kitchenette and bathroom
Pleasant bedroom/sitting area. Did not realise you had to literally go outside to get to bathroom, kitchen and fridge freezer when we booked! The freezer was crammed so we could not put our bits in. It was really cold the night we stayed so hubby got really cold going to bathroom in the night!đŹ Ownwer ery nice and friendly.
We were looking for country experiences on our trip to NZ and this was a great stop with a very friendly host. Ray was watching for us at the driveway to his quaint setting. Beautiful flowers and trees nestled near a river with pastures of sheep. Ray offered alot of info regarding nearby sites and lifestyle in his part of NZ. The property is small and separate rooms for fridge and kitchen/bathroom which is detailed on his site.
