"Absolutely beautiful! Loved every moment! Will be back again and will recommend to family and friends." - Oct 2023
"Superbly appointed, immaculately and tastefully styled home with gorgeous views, interiors and landscaping. You can tell lots of thought has been put into making the house a 5* stay for guests. The space is so light, open with of areas to lounge in. The views from the balcony were breathtaking and we enjoyed the firepit one cold winters night - accompanies by a glass of Tassie pinot of course! - Jul 2023
A little bit about the property:
As you arrive, you will be in awe of the property’s wonderful location and natural beauty. Surrounded by gorgeous, established gardens filled with native flora, this unique timber home ties in beautifully with the surrounding Tasmanian bushland. We hope you will also spot our resident kookaburras and rosellas feasting on the ground’s olives, and abundant wallabies and pademelons.
Accommodating up to 4 guests, the Esk Treehouse has been created as a place that encourages us to pause, to re-connect, whilst being immersed in natural surrounds. As you step inside, you will be greeted by a beautiful, timber-filled interior with native trees forming the home’s structure.
An open-plan kitchen looks out on the cosy lounge and generous dining area below, with an additional sitting and reading nook in the adjoining mezzanine space – and from everywhere, you’re treated to the spectacular views.
An indoor hammock beckons, ensuring you enjoy the natural sunlight that beams into this space. Both the main floor and upstairs loft queen bedrooms feature generous quilts, electric blankets and pillows to ensure a cosy space and sound sleeping. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need to ensure you settle in and don’t have to leave unless you wish to.
As you step outside, you’ll be treated to the calming sounds of the river flowing below, with fresh air on your skin and spectacular views of the Trevallyn Dam and Cataract Gorge. You will find an outdoor bath here to while away an afternoon or evening, with a good book or glass of Tassie wine in hand. Two comfortable Adirondack chairs also invite you to down tools and spend time focusing on the view. Sunrises are magic at the Treehouse, with morning fog rolling through the valley. Evenings and sunsets offer a further perspective on the spectacular surrounds and mountains in the distance.
You are invited to walk around the property to spot the birdlife, and the many native trees.
A little bit more about the stunning location:
The Esk Treehouse is a perfect accommodation choice for couples, honeymooners, nature lovers, bird watchers, writers, remote workers or the solo intrepid traveller. The Esk Treehouse provides a unique setting offering a peaceful and secluded setting with all that Launceston and the beautiful Northwest region of Tasmania within easy reach.
With views from every angle, we welcome you to experience this magical place for yourself. We look forward to being able to share this experience with you.
Guests have access to the entire main home. Access is via a key safe box. Private guest parking is available at the property.
We are available by phone from 8 am to 8 pm if you have any questions during your stay.
We would love it if you could message us when you have arrived safely and also a message on leaving is appreciated so we can clean as early as possible for our next guests.
Please please let me know as soon as you can if there are any issues at all so I have a chance to take the appropriate action to ensure your stay is it should be - totally stress-free and relaxing!!
I'm not always able to personally check the house before your arrival - I am heavily reliant on my housekeeper and I need to know as soon as possible if you and therefore I have been let down in any way by the presentation of Esk Treehouse Cabin.
All the attractions of Launceston are within easy reach, including Cataract Gorge, The Queen Victoria Museum and Gallery, and the vibrant Harvest Community Farmers' Market, held on Saturdays.
Launceston is the gateway to the stunning wine trails of the Tamar Valley, and around two hours' drive from Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park – home to the world-famous Overland Track.
Due to safety reasons and the aesthetic of the accommodation, the Esk Treehouse is an adults only retreat.
Please mind the step as you walk into the entrance.
The property is not ideal for people with accessibility requirements due to the unique features of the timber home and that the loft area is accessed via an internal wooden spiral staircase.
This is a semi-rural property with some steep and uneven areas in the surrounding gardens.
A gardener tends to the property from time to time. Please be aware that they may tend to the garden throughout your stay.
Please read and respect the house rules. This is very much appreciated, thank you! Before your arrival, we will also share a house guide that contains instructions on how to access the property, use certain appliances, and anything else you may need to know.
